As a staunch admirer of David Suchet as the quintessential Poirot (I'm from Belgium myself) I think Ronnie Barker pulled it off quite admirably and Ronnie Corbett is hilarious as always. Nice surprise the see the Bucket woman is also involved...Dame Routhledge is excellent in portraying these posh women... I enjoyed this immensely... thanks for posting this gem of true British comedy...... Sure didn't see that end coming.....the two conspiring to get rid of her...Genius!
The good old treading on the Garden rake gag Always gets me, even at 47yrs of age, is still crack up, especially when it's part of a combination of gags as this is, first the Champaign cork gag, always works when someone thinks they're gonna be murdered in a Comedy sketch, then the falling in to the fountain thinking he's been shot, then the fountain stream gag, then the garden rake gag to finish that sequence off, it's Genius.
They had great timing when performing physical comedy-demonstrated best, IMO, in “By the Sea,” and “The Picnic”. No dialogue, just a TRUE comedy of errors. Yes, absolutely comedic gold. 🏆🤩😂✨✨✨
This Two Ronnie's sketch is pure comedy genius, backed up of course by a quite wonderful supporting performance by Patricia Routledge, later to become a household name as Hyacinth Bucket! 😊
They really should've put together a feature length version of something like this, it would've been gut busting, I know it, Ans judging by this very well received by all at the time and even now because they're both timeless in their comedy acting, absolutely brilliant, as this sketch is too. 🇬🇧-Comedy Gold Genius.
Ronnie Barker was asked, "How would you like to be remembered?" He said, "I would like to be remembered as a good funny comedian." PF. He was too modest. He (and Corbett) became two of the greatest comedians of all time! They played the female characters so well, Barker especially!
Awwww. I've just noticed it's Hyacinth. I had seen this sketch before I knew of "Keeping up appearances". Now rewatching it and what do I find! It's the BUCKET woman!!! Yay!!!!
Funniest thing I've watched in ages. I used to watch them as a kid but don't remember this. Couldn't stop laughing at the arrangement of the fatalities 😂
Poirot is BELGIAN!! And this seems one great take-off on Albert Finney in Murder on the Orient Express! But the Two Ronnie's were just superb. And the added touch of genius was Patricia Routledge aka Hyacinth Bucket as the wife!! What a total hoot!!
In America, *The Two Ronnies* is (or, if you insist, are) known mainly only to those of us who actually paid attention to what people like Pythons would say of their own influences, whom they admired, etc. I mean, most of us for example know of David Frost only as some pertinacious fellow who had the temerity to call Nixon a dirty crook (by implication) to his face on a nationally televised interview, not as a very funny guy in his own right once upon a different career path.
Now That's How You Make An Entrance..By introducing An Exit🍑 0:25 This Hercule is Just As Hilarious As The Hercule From The Dragonball Series. Perfect! 4:40 He's So Tiny 6:25 Dayum Lol 8:10
This is just too much talent on one screen. With Three of the great of britain comedy
OMG!! Patricia and the two Ronnies! Splendid.
Love these. God bless the two R,s. We will never see the likes of these ever again.😢
Lol, your apostrophe fell out of the sky
Their acting and word play is out of this world... Fabulous..
THE 2 RON'S WILL B MIST ON THE TV C U LATER I LOVE BOTH OF U LOL ❤❤
This is pure Genius!! There are no shows like this anymore
There are no actors like these anymore 😊
“Oh, such pulchritude! It is your pulchritude that sets you aside from the multitude, Madam Bultitude.” Lol.

That's "Buck-ay!"
Yes that ending was indeed in Christie style
These boys brought so much happiness to my life thank you so much boys. Love from the Irish lads.
Me too, i think all our parents loved them too so we grew up with them
Surely they could not have considered anyone else but her for playing Hyacinth.
Incredible.
An absolute blast!!! Really made me LOLOL!!! Thank you Messrs Barker and Corbett! Classic comedy that’s lost none of its charm or fun over the years!

Hyacinth "Boo-kay"!
So funny and enjoyable to watch. All such brilliant actors!
This is if Monsieur Alfonse was trying to court Hyacinth Bucket.
Oh yea woe is he🇮🇪🙏☘️❤️✝️
4:25 to 5:07 little Ronnie at his best. Laughed till I cried, thank you so much for uploading this.
Amazing art in motion! Love these. I am Irish but these are genius!🇮🇪✝️❤️🏴🙏😂😂

🇬🇧-Comedy Gold Genius.
Look up "murder by death" film, if you like this, you'll love the film.
Tears in my eyes from laughter . i couldve watched this for another hour or two

Patricia was no Slouch in the comedy acting skills.
You can see how Patricia Routledge got the part of Hyacinth. This character is her in all but name
Lol, 🤪😂😈
Loved Hyacinth lol
Indeed! 😁😁😁😁😁
This and Kitty from Victoria Wood
She plays Wimsey's mum in this brilliance as well...

It’s your pulchritude that sets you aside from the multitude Madam Bertitude. 😂😂😂
Sundeep Haridas 😂
9:20
Brilliant! Especially the garden death scene.
It is your pulchritude which sets you apart from the multitude, Madame Baltitude". What an astonishing bit of wordplay.
One of their very best! One of the very best Poirots!
Awwww. I've just noticed it's Hyacinth. I had seen this sketch before I knew of "Keeping up appearances".
Now rewatching it and what do I find! It's the BUCKET woman!!! Yay!!!!
Its bouquet!!
Thank you for sharing! That was really enjoyable 😊
You can see why Patricia Routledge had the hyacinth character later on. she was made for the part
💕💕
I thought I had clicked on a KUA video by mistake lol
Was thinking the exact same thing.
@@NeathSpadge yes!!! me too love the show did not know she was on the two Ronnies.
@@PointsofData 😆😆😆😆😆 👍👍👍👍👍 😁😁😁😁😁
WOW absolutely PRICELESS...
Patricia ..aka Hyacinth
Outstanding in this sketch am falling over laughing
Patricia routledge was in the steptoe and son episode ,seance in a rag and bone yard, as the clairvoyant
I love that episode, Patricia rouledge was a great actress. Keeping up appearances is still one of my favourite shows.
How on earth have I never seen this before?
I thought that too.
What I love about this is that isn’t not so much a parody of Poirot as it is just a Poirot story if it were a comedy instead of a drama.
Funniest thing I've watched in ages. I used to watch them as a kid but don't remember this. Couldn't stop laughing at the arrangement of the fatalities 😂
Nothing short of brilliant!
If my Sheridan were here, he'd be appalled!
"I didn't get where I am today by being murdered at a garden party". I hope someone gets it.
That dinner scene with black mamba story had me in literal fits of laughing until my face started to hurt.
Surely, surely, this was a test run for Mrs Bucket...
I didn't even recognise the Ronnie as the French Inspector until right at the end.Such funny, marvelous acting by all.
AND Patricia Rowtledge! What a treat!
These two are hilarious. Love PR
This was terrific!
I absolutely love these two legendary comedians. I would have loved to be around in the times of their existence-such brilliant comedy.
That Top Secret like visual gag at the beginning is genius.
I didn't recognize the Ronnie playing the detective till half way thru...what fun
Oh no! Not the Bucket Woman! ;-)
bucket? bouquet
Clinty, from "To Sir, with Love"!
Genius. God bless them!
Brilliant 🤩 brilliant 🤩
What's the Lady of the House doing here?! 🤣
Well, the Bishop was coming round...
(as The Vicar's wife) "Oh no! It's the Bucket woman!" 😝😄😁👍
Mrs Bucket
One thing I don’t understand about this sketch: why wasn’t Elizabeth invited over for coffee? She could have used a beaker.
I guess we know where the Hyacinth Bucket character originated.
Two thousand and twenty four. First time seeing this episode
Jeez, the amount of time I laughed so hard that I farted. I miss these guys, a privilege to have watched them with dad as I grew up in the ‘70s/‘80s.
So long as you did not have a follow through
Love this..
Never seen that before it was really funny 😃😃😷✌
Ronnie Corbett looks like Charlie Chaplin‘s younger brother here
Dame Patricia! Yaaaaas! ❤️
who? oh the bucket woman
@@guharup "It's pronounced 'bouquet', dear!"
Poirot here reminds me of Monsieur Alphonse the undertaker for some reason
It's Mrs Bucket!
Fantastic!
brilliant.
This was well done!
Ronnie si right of course, they all get murdered after Poirot appears!
Fantastic
Thanks .
Absolute genius.
Ahrrrrrr it's the bucket woman lol
So thats where mrs bucket came from
Brilliant

Is she already playing Hyacinth?
AAAAAGHH! It's Hyacinth!
Might anyone know the name of music or composer played at various times in the sketch please.
Brilliant. So funny ha ha!
Fantastic poirot as well.
When Poirot propped up all of the bodies, only to have them all fall over like some awful Jenga game, I laughed till I was almost in tears. 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I thought the Scottish president of PIST was my favorite but his Poirot is beyond funny.
Poirot on the grass!!!
a minute speck of earwig dropping...
Fountain scene was hilarious! Very Austin Powers.
Mrs Bucket.
She finally got her stately home :P
You can see why she was chosen for mrs Bucket, it's the same character.
Hyacinth!
7:39 that's how Sheridan was conceived I take it?
Sublimely brilliant. Cor Blimey, is they Limeys?
Could anyone advice me on where can I get the opening music, Please?
What is the name of the music playing at the beginning?
Intricate and funny!
hyazinth bucket.
Great
I was this was a full-length feature film.
What a hootanahalf 😂😂😂
Can anyone tell me about the "Intro Music" please? .... I would love to have the whole peace
Pat Routledge was a bit of a smoke show in the 70s
Mrs bucket
Murder was served!
S.M.TRIPATHI SONGS
Everything would be great and everybody happy then Hercule Poirot shows up and all of a sudden somebody dies lol
