I'm willing to pay for extra content, but actually get pissed at channels that offer the exact same content on their Patreon as they do in their TH-cam channel. I got a base model of the regard for $300 + tax. Love it! I'm "poor," so almost all I own are "budget guns." I enjoy trying to see how much value I can get out of the cheapest package. I loved the regard from the first second I was handed it by the gun store clerk and dry fired it.

I was able to Keyhole shot after shot within 15yrds, with bad eyes using one of these, super accurate and confident shot placement. It’s like plinking but with 9mm. My buddy and I did a test where we loaded 5 rounds into each, Taurus TX22, Gen 5 Glock 19, Girsan Regard MC, and a Sig Sauer M18. We scored the most shots with the Girsan, then the TX22, Sig in 3rd with the Glock 19 being fourth with most amount of shots accurately placed. We did this 2-3 times with the same results each time, Unbelievable results for a $400 9mm.

This is a *Girsan* _Regard MC BX_ (It's called the _Yavuz 16 Xtreme_ in Turkey). The BX variant here is a threaded-barrel version of the _Regard MC Gen.3_ which adds the attachment rail. The _Gen.4_ adds a see-through window on the pistol grip allowing you to see how much ammo you have in there.

I bought one of these on January 2020, just as a beater gun it’s one of the standard black ones, I think it was just under $400 back then. Has been shot almost every trip to the range, accurate as yours is, super reliable, lubed every couple of trips never once cleaned. I’ll say this, Girsan knows what they are doing

If you want Beretta 92/m9 factory magazines to lock the slide back on these guns all you have to do is replace the slide catch with a beretta one, they will fit fine and work. The little finger that catches the follower is just slightly shorter on the girsan's stock slide catch. Mec Gar magazines don't have this issue but will work fine with either catch because the follower is closer to the edge of the magazine when empty. It's the only part I replaced on my Regard.
I load 30 round OEM magazines into mine just fine with lockback and everything, a lot of fun.

    • @thepowerofasinglethought

Mine came with a MecGar mag and I can confirm it'll work out of the box; I'll be on the lookout for an OEM slide catch though since that'll get me more mag options.

I purchased one of these about 15 months ago and have been totally happy with it. Had never heard of Girsan before but later found out that they are a NATO approved weapon supplier and ISO9001 certified. Pistol has been 100% reliable and every bit as accurate as my M9-A3 and M9-A4. Fit and finish is as good or better than Beretta. The pistol however is not an exact clone of the Beretta. The locking block lugs and slide locking grooves are cut at a slight angle where the Beretta is cut straight vertical to the slide Everything else seems to be the same. Also, forgot to mention that Beretta grip screw holes don't exactly align with the Girsan grip frame screw holes. Dimensionally they are off by about 1/32" between the two frame screw holes. You can make grips designed for Beretta fit the Girsan with a little careful needle file work on the grip screw holes. As the Outlaw demonstrated, this pistol is super accurate. As most owners have found, it is astonishingly accurate. The only downside I've found is that the cerakote is not super durable.

As a matter of fact I picked one of these guns up a few months ago (black regard mc BX model) and its been AWESOME. Bought some mil-surp m9 mags and they work flawlessly in this gun, It has been my edc woods gun and has been VERY reliable. I only have about 75 rounds through it though (9mm ammo AINT cheap anymore lol) looking foward to seeing the long term reliability of the girsan. That girsan mc312 was my go to as I loved the gun and it ran flawless in freezing temps, snow, etc where a lot of autoloaders show their colors firing wet shells. My friend ( a die hard mossberg fan) bought it off of me for over msrp and sold his mossberg one week later. Girsan is doing amazing things and their prices are out of this world.

The R9s seem to be reasonably rare in the States. I have one also and so far like it quite a bit, especially since it is a Brigadier style 92 for under $500. The different sweep of the beavertail is interesting, too.

This is the second review that I thought was gonna fail. The first was the Bear Creek AR15. With modern tech you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get a great firearm. You got me sold on this one. I have a 1994 Inox 92fs and about 20 military mags and 10 Kci 30 round mags. I will have 3 guns that take the same mags, 92fs, sub2000 and soon the Regard. Thanks. BY the way, I got my Bear Creek after your review.

@@stoegerstewie8351 Imports is possible for arms dealers, none have Girsan yet. We find some well known brands like: Glock, CZ, Beretta, Taurus and others. Buying is not difficult, nor concealed carry with a license. But defending your self gets you in big problems even for the police.

I have the gen 4 mc sport with the decocker only, mag windows, extended mag release, and dovetailed front and rear sights. Wish I could've gotten the threaded barrel and another mag with it but it's still a great gun.

  • @brufru1990
    @brufru1990 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great review Honest Outlaw.
This Girsan actually has several features that are better than the Beretta 92 (and I love the Beretta 92 platform):
    - Better slide serrations
    - (Subjective) better back strap curve (more shallow) than the original 92 (not Vertec)
    - Steel guide rod
    - Takedown lever automatically snaps into position when the slide is reassembled onto the frame
    - Nicer mag release (more pronounced) than the original (not the extended one on the Vertec)
    - One more notch (4 total) in the light rail than Berettas with rails have
    - I’m partial to the finger grooves (I didn’t know if I would like them, but they work great for me)
I did change out the the hammer strut spring for a 14 pound one from LTT, as well as the slide stop/release. The Girsan’s slide stop/release has a shorter finger, which may prevent certain Beretta mags from locking back.
Never mind the price - overall this is a wonderful, high quality pistol. Extremely reliable and accurate, and a pleasure to shoot.

I have the Regard Gen4. Their "competition" model, or one of them. I love it to death. The added gas pedal and the g style decocker are worth it all for me.
