    The entire 92FS series is an awesome awesome gun. The ultra reliability of this firearm is remarkable. I’ve dropped mine in sand and snow, picked it up and it’s always gone bang. I’m on year #31 of carrying the same model now for duty carry and competition. I’m still going with it on duty. I do wish the grip was slightly smaller and had checking however. But, I’ve been trusting it for three decades now and not once have I ever accidentally engaged the safety, nor burned my hands on the barrel.

    • @Dan-di9jd
      @Dan-di9jd ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not too fixated on the “reliability” of it because many firearms do just as well these days. I just like the looks of it and really fell for it thanks to the resident evil 1 game. The 3d model it had in the game I’d spend a long time looking at it in high school.

    Dude, I got a Beretta 92x recently and it's really giving my CZ SP01 Tactical a run for the money. Mainly because the 92x trigger reset is AMAZING. One of the best factory triggers I've felt in a long time. Also, it is priced VERY WELL for such a smooooooth operating pistol. $635 before taxes. Rather have this any day over a Glock for that price.
    I don't really see any difference between your M9A4 and my 92x other than trigger guard and threaded barrel. I don't have any suppressors, so the threaded barrel isn't a big deal to me.
    Keep rocking on!

    Outstanding video on the M9A4! Grabbed one of these a few months back. Love it! I did get a couple of optics plates, but they don't come with any screws to mount the actual optic which is a mistake I communicated to Beretta. The optics that I have that came with screws, are not the same screws the optic plates take. Other than that, I think it's a great pistol. Love seeing your tests of this guy.

    Summarized: full metal, SA/DA, de-cocker, 18rnd mag, 5.1in threaded barrel for "oil filters" or muzzle flash, mount for various optics, tritium sights, Beretta quality, and for "just" $1100. Once I'll get my shooting license, it's going to be a hard choice between this and CZ 75/shadow/TS series. I hope tho they'll make black or stainless version. Not a fan of TAN x)

    I don't usually carry any of my 92 series pistols for CCW. However, for any other purpose the 92 is my pistol of choice. Have several M9A3s in different colors and just picked up an M9A4. Absolutely a beautiful pistol and I love all of the upgrades from the A3 series. Probably one of the smoothest and accurate designed pistols ever made. By the way, the slide safety is a signature feature of the 92 series pistols and I wouldn't have it any other way. Been a Beretta 92 series user for the last 25 years and totally second nature with the slide safety/decocker. I have a 92X Performance and while the frame safety is ok, the design reminds me of a Taurus PT92 safety (not a pleasant thought). I generally prefer to de-cock the hammer with my thumb in a safe direction and have perfected the technique over the last 30 years with many hammer fired pistols (most without a de-cocker feature).The 92X is also a beautiful pistol and shoots every bit as well as it looks. The trigger reset is very similar on both the M9A4 and the 92X Performance.

    one pro to the slide safety: you can get a higher, firmer grip. theres no safety you have to worry about under all that. also, the A4s should only be coming in G/decock only.

    • @ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz
      @ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Excellent review. I'm a Beretta 92 fan. Must say though that for many of us slide mounted safeties work fine. S&W pistols used slide mounted safeties on their metal receiver pistols, and law enforcement used those S&W pistols for decades. Same can be said about the Beretta M9 in military service. But hey, I'm a guy that likes the 1911 grip safety. Also prefer both the original Beretta 92 backstrap shape and the 1911-A1 Mainspring Housing.

    Just got the gold finish steel guide rod, red match trigger, steel oversized mag release and aluminum lanyard loop for my A4, also bought a holosun and now I’m just waiting for baretta to ship my optics plate.
    This thing is SWEET. In the future I will certainly install a lighter trigger system and the siliconized steel spring for trigger return and what not as well as the Wilson combat performance trigger bar. Needless to say my favorite new part is the match trigger, the cutouts for extra grip seemed overkill at first but after putting it on my M9A4 I highly recommend barettas match trigger. It’s only like 30 bucks too! Cool way to customize your handgun. Nothing but good things to say about this gun and I applaud baretta for releasing this gun regardless of being in the middle of a supply chain crisis, they are doing what they can to make buyers happy and I appreciate that!

    Look forward to adding both of these to my Beretta collection and seeing you test them

    So, re-watching this informative video and recalling a time when I wouldn’t have given you a quarter for a Beretta unless I was going to resell it. HOWEVER…that all changed after I watched Ernest Langdon run a full and compact carry PX4 through 100K rounds each without a single malfunction even though the block cracked after 75K on the full size. Additionally, he only lubed them after 25Krounds for the trials. I was sold! I now own 4 PX4s but am starving for a 92 in the “X” configuration now…just got to generate the cash!

    Excellent review, love the freezing night time shooting. Real world. Does Beretta offer this pistol without a safety? It's reliable and a nice looking pistol that's already optics ready. Time to check pricing.....

    My duty carry was a 92 FS (we are both long retired now). Never stovepiped nor misfired, running anything from bulk 115 FMJ to duty Federal 147 Hydra-Shock. Never burned my slide hand (over the top, back of the slide from a lot of stovepipe drills) and never inadvertently engaged the decock/safety. All original, no mods, lots of rounds through her; only thing I’ve ever done to it is use it, clean it and put it back in the holster. Was fun on 50 round course of fire drills when the 1911 guys ran dry, to stand and watch them try and and reload mags as fast as they could.
    Trusted companion on many grave and swing shifts, so much so that I call her “The Girlfriend”. Why? For quite a timeframe back in the day, spent more nights with her than the lovely. Never part with either.
    Just walked to the gun safe, pulled her out of my old duty holster, cleared her, racked the slide, down ranged her and felt that familiar pull and snap of the dry fire single action, and, for a moment……just a moment……I was back in time, back when I was young, dumb, ten-foot tall and bulletproof with a full-sized white Bronco as my steed. Thanks for the review…….and the brief trip down memory lane.

    The plates have been out since before you posted your first video. Leupold, Trijicon, Burris/Docter/Vortex. They’re sold as 90 series RDO plate. You can find them in the beretta store under kits.

      You may have more luck getting an RDO slide from Langdon Tactical. Then you can have co witness irons that aren't obscenely tall.

      @@dalefisk7667 I waited for the A4 because it was optics ready from the factory. Beretta also promised me a "free" (most likely included in the cost of the gun) optics plate. 7 weeks after registering for one, my RMR is still weighing down papers. They do have the plates for the other optics manufacturers readily in stock though.

      @@GunRunnersTrainingCo That is crap. You would think these companies would have this problem solved at launch since it is a simple metal plate. Do you get one of those PDPs or a Q4? I know Walther was another company in Red Dot Denial. I remember reading an article about the PDP a year ago praising Walther for finally joining the club.
