Don't know why the PDQ Antares 44 is not in there. Had my 2006 for, 8 years all over the world, never had 10% of the problems of other cruisers, 2 haulouts in 8 years , 1 when bought it and the other to repair damage from hitting something at night
I was at the La Grande Motte Boat Show and had the chance to be on a Privilege 510 Signature. Very expensive but probably the best you can get...Regards Buggy
Thanks for the Comment! I agree HH are awesome boats. Fast, good build quality and also at the leading edge of hybrid development. Cant wait to see when "Gone With The Wynns" launch their HH44OC around the middle of next year.
2-2-24. USA Per their TH-cam Channel the Wynns launched HH44OC (no dagger boards) and are on a standard HH shake down cruse. with several HH factory specialist/crew and their all headed to the Philippines. Based well done in-depth HH staff interviews and considerable on site video shot by the Wynns for every phase of the hi-bred production of HH44-hull #3 they are getting a well engineered piece of art. The knowledgable Nikki and Jason Wynns went over that vessel with find tooth comb prior to its launching and its a well navel arcitect designed carbon fiber blue water cruiser. I would bet on the HH if it was part of a comparison analyst to a magnificent Leopard. @@crazyaboutboats6901 @JRAMSKb8wTwd36bw
@ Yeah, HH really stuffed up. All that free advertising from one of the biggest sailing channels and HH decided to nickel and dime the Wynns on obvious faults. Things that should immediately be covered by warranty. The marketing people must raging at HHs senior management. The Wynns were actually very restrained given the magnitude of the problems they had with their million dollar cat.
June 9, 2024. At this point in time the HH44OC with the huge lifting salon windows, hybrid power regeneration capability and carbon fiber hull has to be #1 of the Top 5. I'm influenced, having watched all the "Gone with the Wynns" video's of interviews with engineering, management and skilled artisans at the HH factory over a two years period as HH44OC, hull #3 was being fabricated (no dagger boards) for Jason and Nikki Wynn. HH gained it fame from building big world class carbon fiber racing cats for years and then they decided a couple of years ago to build a line of smaller Cats for the cruising community. What's clear is the carbon fiber technology transfer that happened. Apparently HH only knows how to build high tech boats one way and it's reflected in their beautifully engineered smaller cat versions. Then there's the matter of under way system accessibility, and repairability when you break something during a race. Everything was well thought out for the HH44OC. All electrical, engines and plumbing subsystems have ease of access with ample room for spares swap out. The boat wiring is a work of art with every circuit individuly labeled with indepenent circuits for each hybrid diesel engine that can generate battery power from the spinning props while under sail or use battery power to propel the vessel.
Have you watched the Wynns recently? They’ve had issues with their HH including the electric engines not putting out as much power as stated. Also HH has production in the Philippines now and it doesn’t look like management are overseeing the training of the staff very well. I hope HH gets these issues sorted out because the specs on the boat look fantastic, but the management seems to be a mess. The Wynns could have been the greatest free advertising a yacht company could have but HH really dropped the ball with them.
@@Angie-in8wc Most of what you see are because the Wynns got one of the first ones for the Eco systems on the HH44. After about 5 years all the issues will be worked out for those systems and the build will be better. As for carbon fiber hulls well as long as you don't hit anything that causes the fibers to start to separate you are good. Fiber Glass and aluminum are much easier to repair if you are looking at long term boating. I will say that with the issues many Fiber Glass boat have been having I would look for the more expensive full glass constructed boats.
@@gotafarmyet4691 I’ve head it suggested not to get one of the first 10 hulls of any new design but there’s teething problems and then poor management. Have you watched any of the Wynns recent experiences? I don’t think HH have treated them very well and given the large amount of subscribers they have on TH-cam that’s a pretty foolish mistake by HH. The electric engines weren’t putting out anything near the power they were supposed to and they were having a lot of electrical issues - but I’m just a a random on TH-cam, watch for yourself and form your own opinion.
Good choices. I've just come across Portofino's and Gone With The Wynns recent videos on sailing a Kneel Trimaran have converted me from not like Trimarans very much. I've changed my mind.
Definitely a quick boat but I thought they were a bit too much a stripped out racer which included tillers only and no wheel/helm and no interior lining just painted gel coat. But if you have a need for speed and your happy with these things them this is your boat.
@@crazyaboutboats6901 ORC 57 now has wheel/helm option and interior is definitely upgraded vis a vis ORC 50/42 . Together with the Dazcat and Gunboat cats , these are the only true performance cats . And no , Outremer does not cut it : an ORC 50 beat the new O55 by a massive 2.5 days in the last ARC 2022 rally

Thanks for your comment. Obviously sailing is not for you! There can be something satisfying about harnessing the wind to get you to your destination. A good sail can be satisfying in itself. But if you just want to get "there" then a power cat or electric cat seems to be for you. And obviously electric cats can be very environmentally friendly. Enjoy your day!
Why can’t you dispense with the elevator music? Can barely hear the description.
Leopard, Knysna, Xquisite yachts from South Africa are worth a look
Leopard. LOL
Outremer 55 for me out of this lot. It looks good

Can you do a video on the top 10 30 - 40ft cats? They're a little more in my price range.
Also perfect size for me. I dont need a 50 footer.

Nice video. Spoilt by the music being too loud so your voice was muffled
NICE WORK !
Windelo 50 best of all worlds!!!
LOVE the forward helm, and day bed, very light at 12 ton, travels easily in low wind....large solar panel area

All of these are not performance catamarans due to the weight. Lightweight is key for a performance catamaran to be called a performance catamaran
Balance 526❤
Nah, I only like aluminium catamarans. Or, based on your New York accent, you would say aluminum cats.
