I recently got the 4K version of it and made sure to copy it to multiple flashdrives so I'd always have a copy. I really wish i still had my VHS version though.

I first saw this movie when I was 8yrs old, I'm now 38 and I watch it atleast once a year every single year since I was 8. I watched it twice last year and i think it's time for me to watch it again. This was a great video and we all appreciate the work you put into it.
There's a fun TH-cam family from NZ that just took a huge 8 week tour of the western US and the dad said the day they spent visiting these filming locations was top four things they did the entire trip. Really does look like a picturesque area. Love the bridge in the background.

So jealous, if I was only allowed to visit one filming location in the US this would be my pick for sure. This would be one of the best Goonies then & now movies I have seen done on here and your match ups are bang on point as always. I was surprised you could go onto the balcony, others I have seen done could only view from that railing fence that is setup in the driveway

Ya when I went to the goonies house they were remodeling it or something an the owners were outside yelling at us, we only made it to the top of the hill lol I yelled back at them asking what they expected when buying it

Greatly appreciate this video. I was born in 1995 but The Goonies was one of the first DVDs I had as a kid in 2000. I consider it a favourite of my childhood. No one else in my age group that I schooled or worked with have watched it and don't understand my love and appreciation for the movie. I wish I can visit these places one day.

I just came from Astoria because I wanted to finally visit the place where the film was shot. The movie experience was just awesome, but I realized that even without the movie, the town was just worth visiting on its own. What a beautiful, quiet, clean place. Now your video was just perfectly spot on the locations. That's a lot of dedication. Congratulations!

Growing up in the 90s, we watched this film like crazy. Critics bemoan this or that, yet we as kids were forever caught up in the intrigue, the adventure and the wonder. Even then, I was in love with Astoria's majestic landscape. It reminds me very much of Apollo Bay here in Victoria with the beautiful rugged coasts and incessant rainy weather. I would love to visit one day! And thanks so much for the videos, Nick P! Nostalgia overloaded.
@20:21, Fun fact! That 1970 Ford Ltd Country Squire incredibly is my family's old wagon! My dad sold it to the folks who owned that home before I was born in '87! He told me that story when I was little but I didn't believe him till I actually saw pictures of it lol. He said a man bought it for his wife in Astoria. I just thought he told me that because he knew I loved cars in movies lol it sure is though. He bought it new.

I spent a few years living in Cannon Beach in the late 90s and early 2000s. I also love the Goonies. Thanks for the walk down memory road, in more ways than one for me, having frequented some of the spots you show myself.
Thanks Nick for the work. Lining up shots is a true detail that is most important. I feel the cast (as young as they were) did an outstanding acting job. This movie is hands down my favorite for many reasons. I'm about the same age as Feldman, they go on a treasure hunting adventure, and they rode some 20" BMX bikes. Most of the cast want to film a part 2 and I think it would be awesome. They could be the parents this time. Lots of fans want it so why can't we get it? How about a Netflix series like Cobra Kai? I know I'd watch it. Thanks again Nick.
A Netflix series, similar to Cobra Kai would be a lot of fun! The cast did do an amazing job. Spielberg had a special way with kids, inhumanly patient lol. ..and then Donner, Columbus, etc.. I remember visiting the spot where the hideout was and it was on complete accident. We were just visiting places in Oregon and it was so cool seeing the plaque with images of the spots.

This was very well done. Goonies was a great movie. I have even shown it to my son. On the beach, I was surprised and sad to see how much sand has washed away. The kids were walking over rocks that are now exposed.
This movie is just one of many reasons why I'm glad that I was a 80s kid.

Very very good... missed a couple of scenes though. One was Chunk escaping from the lighthouse and being found by the Fratellies as they pulled up in their ORV.

This was very well done. Goonies was a great movie. I have even shown it to my son.
On the beach, I was surprised and sad to see how much sand has washed away. The kids were walking over rocks that are now exposed.
