Ok it's me again When you are doing your lucky 7 clip. The bridge in the picture from the movie is not that bridge. The old one was an arch. That's the newer one. I lived right there.
Yes my uncle lived over on Harold Street near the Huntington Street Station, dad rented a house on Jasper and Albert Streets. But the area where Mightt Micks and Pet Shop are now currently is a good area, Mighty Micks was renovated and made into apartments.
My understanding from talking to alot of people in Philly is that it was always rough, but the current state of Kensington has never been this bad. One of the worst in the country for homicides and other violent crimes. Definitely only got worse, from what people who lived there told me.
Interesting thought. You would think it could be worth more but the whole neighborhood is so rough and dangerous, not sure it would be. Thanks for watching, appreciate!!!! Chris
Highly unlikely. The home is in an awful, drug infested part of Philadelphia. Just because Sly Stone walked in and out of the front door is not bringing anything extra. It comes down to the neighborhood and the house itself.

No one ever goes to Paulies house on Rosehill st 😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️
Yes, that was an interpreting street and house. 🤣 appreciate you watching!!
You're a brave soul. I love the Rocky movies but, WOW is this neighborhood horrible! I've lived in Philadelphia all my life and wouldn't be caught dead walking around down there. I'm amazed at your editing skills. There's no way you didn't pass a thousand junkies in your travels.
@maribethschlosser6785 thanks!!! Yes, out of all the areas I have been to (South Chicago, 8 mile Detroit, Compton), this was the most dangerous, imo. I chose to go early morning...yes, there were alot of sketchy people in area. At one point, I had 4 people yelling at me. There were areas I simply couldnt get out. I wouldn't want to go back there. Appreciate you watching!!!! Chris
I wouldn't step foot anywhere around there today.
No, I wouldn't go back. Glad I filmed it and I go to very dangerous areas, but I wouldn't go back!!
Did you really call Pats a hoagie shop!!!??? Never com back to Philly
@@danielaviles1335 🤣🤣🤣🤣
How’d you not catch any of the zombies in your shots?
Trust me, I caught alot of zombies, just didn't put them in video. It was pretty scary to see that area. Thanks for watching!! Chris
Very cool but would've been a lot more helpful if you had actually mentioned what parts of town these filming locations were in.
Thanks for watching and I apologize I didn't mention parts of town. I travel to alot of filming locations all over multiple countries, and often times, I simply don't know the layout of the city I am in - I am there to show the viewer where scenes were filmed. Appreciate you watching!!! Chris
Hi bro..how old were you when you first saw Rocky I? I was 16
I think I was around the same age as you, maybe even 14. I just loved it. As for going there, I honestly have never been to a more dangerous area (and I travel everywhere). Thanks so much for watching!!! Peace, Chris
@inkedbeardsman Thanks for the reply. I believe it is a slum area isn't it? So it was more dangerous than now. Bravo my bro. Success for you
@MrAndyRachmat yes, check yourube for "Kensington philadelphia", it is wild!! Very dangerous. Someone went to Rockys apt and had a gun pulled on them. I went 1st thing in morning, and got out to film and back in. Yes, dangerous area. Appreciate you watching my friend!!! Chris
@@inkedbeardsman Yess I've watched several video about junkies in Kensington. It was horrible. But I don't know that the Rocky's apartment is now very dangerous. Make me think twice to go there and visit Rocky's apt. Thx
@MrAndyRachmat yes, if you do, be careful and stay safe!! Chris
Hellhole then, hellhole now.
Great work on the video though!
Yeah, it definitely hasn't changed much. Thanks for watching! Appreciate you!!!

@TimothyOBrien1958 very cool!! They were such iconic movies. Must have been a cool experience, what did you end up doing? Appreciate you checking out the video!
@@inkedbeardsman I was a second-unit day player. I had one line: "Hey, babe, it's Rocky!!!" Of course, they cut it.
@TimothyOBrien1958 that is awesome that you were there though!! What a cool memory. We spent a whole day on set for Rocky Balboa, but it was a long day. Stallone and his brother Frank were both onset. Near experience. Thanks so much for sharing that...I love hearing these stories.
@@inkedbeardsman It was good pay. They upgraded me the first day and then forgot about it for almost two weeks. They finally shot my line the last day. Someone I'm sure got their head handed to them for that SNAFU.
Ok it's me again
When you are doing your lucky 7 clip. The bridge in the picture from the movie is not that bridge. The old one was an arch. That's the newer one. I lived right there.
Very interesting to know, it looks so similar, didn't realize they replaced
Thanks for mentioning!!!
Ən sevdiyim film Azərbaycan dan selam ❤
Greetings, thank you so much for coming along and watching! Peace, Chris
Was mighty Jim a real Jim ?
Not a hoagie shop. It’s a cheesesteak shop
Thanks for clarifying and watching!!! Chris
Q: Were the neighborhoods that bad at the time of filming, and the cast and crew plunged in and filmed anyway? Or did they go downhill afterward?
Yes my uncle lived over on Harold Street near the Huntington Street Station, dad rented a house on Jasper and Albert Streets. But the area where Mightt Micks and Pet Shop are now currently is a good area, Mighty Micks was renovated and made into apartments.
My understanding from talking to alot of people in Philly is that it was always rough, but the current state of Kensington has never been this bad. One of the worst in the country for homicides and other violent crimes. Definitely only got worse, from what people who lived there told me.
Me and my sisters walked down that brick street millions of time
@buckbuck9225 definitely an interesting area!!!
I played on that street with my cousin many times as a kid.
He's wearing the black clothes of Rocky 1. That is funny.
Thanks for watching!!! Chris
Is the rocky house worth more money than a normal house in that neighbourhood?
Interesting thought. You would think it could be worth more but the whole neighborhood is so rough and dangerous, not sure it would be. Thanks for watching, appreciate!!!! Chris
Not sure but i know it’s expensive… some million dollar homes are small
Highly unlikely. The home is in an awful, drug infested part of Philadelphia. Just because Sly Stone walked in and out of the front door is not bringing anything extra. It comes down to the neighborhood and the house itself.
@912912patriot agreed
No,my friends ROSE owns the house its a small home worth about 30 grand in a shithole neighborhood
"This is not the best neighborhood in Philly"
Kensington is in fact now a zombie land full of fentanyl addicts. It's a nightmare. 😖
Agreed, I have been allowed over the country, every dangerous area there is...never felt as unsafe as I did here (and I went at 830 am). Thx for watching!! Chris
you should do west side story!
Absolutely, would love to. I have 4 other location video ready to go and look forward to much more, and new ideas! Thx!! Chris

Haha. Great comment!!! Age is only a number. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing that. Agreed, love Rocky as well, don't even remember the first time I watched it. Peace, Chris
unbeleavable that the railing is still there some 48 years later , Little Maria got a bad name for herself around there
Agreed, amazing when I see things that never changed.
@@inkedbeardsman blew me away I enjoyes seeing that Your audience here in Tucson Arizona
@rdnysal nice!! Appreciate and hope all is well!! Peace, Chris
Kensington is an absolute shit hole, i visited these locations way back in 2009, but I'd never go back there again. I loved seeing the locations, and im glad i done it, but my god, what rough area
Yes, it was a rough area. Nothing normally bothers me and I will go to any area..BUT...this was different. Ti's was the most dangerous area I had been to (and I filmed 8 mile Detroit, south Chicago, skid row l.a.) ...Kensington was the worse. Glad I filmed it but probably wouldn't go back.
Rocky wasn't real he never had a fight in his life fictional character stop what about the real fighters that laid there life on the line
Thanks so much for watching the video!! Peace, Chris
I've been to that area in Philadelphia. It's definitely a dump
Definitely a rough area for sure. Thanks for watching!! Chris
Philly nowadays.....so sad.
Yes, so different today. I have said it before, probably the most dangerous area I have visited (and I have filmed in some rough areas). Thx for watching!! Chris
Mickey always got mad at Rocky because Rocky was always a leg breaker for some cheap second rate loan shark.
@@hectorlopez1069 hahaha, well played!! So true. Lol

You didn't mention that rocky place interior is 3 story's.
@buckbuck9225 yes, you are correct, hope to do another video with more locations at some point. Thx!!!
You were on the wrong side of the railroad tracks they pulled up on Tusculum st on the other side when he says about breaking his thumbs
Yes, he was facing the other way. Apologize for the confusion - was facing the other way - same location, shot from other angle. Thanks for mentioning!!!
It wasn’t his apartment. Only the exterior shots were done there the apartment was shot in Los Angeles.
@XxSpPhiLLyxX31 yes, the interiors of the apartment were shot at a flop house in Los Angeles. I thought i mentioned that in video. Appreciate you watching!!!!
