One of the movies that defined being an 1980's kid, and as being an 80's kid i can proudly say that we are and will allways be a goonie, the last free generation
Old millennial here (age 40), I also had a free childhood and experienced most of what younger Gen X’ers did as well so your assessment isn’t completely accurate lol
I'm a 90s kid and I also can't agree.
Stand by me was also a good one.
It’s our time OUR TIME down here
Nah, I'm also an 80's kid, but 90's kids were free too. Even up through the mid 2000's things were pretty good. Things didn't really start going south until the woke takeover that started in the early-mid 2010's.
I was 9 years old when the Goonies hit theaters and it's still one of my most cherished memories: My mother took me and my cousins to the movies and afterwards we went to Pizza Hut for a sitdown dinner... Such a great day.
Nothing better than Pizza Hut in the 80’s, and they always had PAC Man as well. Ahhhhhh, good times.
imagine if you got some pussy after the pizza
Wow! I was five in 85’ and I watched it few years later on British television on a Sunday afternoon at Christmas and it blew me away. I wished I was a goonie like the rest of us did as seeing outsiders be together and confident and then heroic hit me deeply. I love that you saw it in the theatre and that thousands of miles apart we had that same experience. Art really is a different kind of connection for human beings man❤️
Was 5 in New York City, but had my own Goonies crew who were reflected in and defined by these kids. Still my closest friends. There was something about that place in time.

I don't want a sequel, and I sure as hell don't want a remake.
Could you imagine a remake today ? Just wouldn’t work. Would have the same feel .
I definitely agree with not a remake for sure, but a sequel would kind of be interesting as long as they can stick to the script and come up with something similar rather than inserting the bullshit and ruining it like they love to do..Like I said it would be nice I think but I'd definitely be worried if it was made at this point in time...maybe when we get rid of all the woke shit🤣🤣🤣
They could call it, "Woke Goonies", or "Goonies in Clown World". Yeah, no thanks.
As long as Spielberg is alive - it won't happen.

Goonies still holds up in 2023!
Um, No it doesn't. That's your opinion ,Dude.😊
the 80s & 90s Nostalgia is unbeaten, the Atmosphere & everything is simply Awesome. The Goonies, The Explorers, Stand by Me, Home ALone, Back 2 The Future, MY Girl, Dennis...and many more.... these are the Milestones we grew up with, these Movies are Uplifting & makes us Happy. Also because i guess our Memories are attached to these Decades, our Families & Friends, our Journey & the Movies makes these Moments Reappear ✨
WELL SAID
Lol the 90s ok
Love The Explorers.
@@pearljam619 yes, one of my Fav. Movies.
Being born and raised in Oregon,
& Watching the Goonies when it came out (& almost once a year since 😁)
That movie definitely embodied the grey rainy youth of everyone I knew,
Imaginations sharp and active, full of wild fanciful daydreaming.
The characters of Goonies and the storyline was so precisely accurate to the adventure of the woods, the coast, the ramshackle buildings throughout Oregon - kids everywhere could immediately connect with and identify the same type of experience,
In enjoying the wild nomadic fantasy on the screen.
Even to this day I live as a "Goonie"
Climbing trees when nobody is watching, so I can see if a pirate ship is on the horizon,
Caves in eastern Oregon and hiking trails in silver falls,
Running the Hobbit trails on the coast,
Swimming at millpond or slipping down the rock slides,
All perfect time warps back to my childhood -
Goonies never say die 😊
One of my all time favorite movies, shaped my childhood and created many adventures for my me and my friends. Watching it now actually saddens me a bit bc I remember my BFF that is no longer with us, it also brings me joy that he and I had such amazing memories together.
R.I.P Patrick Hodge
Yes the same for me. My best friend through my child hood and teens passed away this year. movies like Predator, terminator 2 , Robocop also hold strong memories of my youth with him. R.I.P Jake Daniels.
@@voodooo69 sorry for your loss, glad you have some good memories to cherish ❤️
This movie is my favorite movie and I loved to find another one and get this information about it together because my kids loved it too. Thanks guys for sharing this. Great Artist and this is a classic video.
I'm a Mom that will always Goonies. ❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite line of the movie:
"Remember when we were gonna get your teeth fixed? But instead we spent the money on Francis's Toupee!"
Then the comeback of:
"I DON'T WEAR A HAIRPIECE!!!"
I'm 43 and my wife Is 41. We have 5 children and none of them or my wife has seen the Goonies. I am ashamed that I haven't sat them down and forced them to see it yet. I played the gremlins for my kids this past Christmas season and they made it through the first 15 min before jumping on tablets. It's a shame that they don't have the luxury of an attention span due to short swipe tiktok style videos. I am going to ebay to buy a DVD right now of the Goonies so that my wife can at least experience it. Thanks for this Gem of a documentary I feel like I found lost pirates treasure
I knew this movie would be a classic when I first watched it with my kids, now I watch it with my grandkids pretty often, they like to shout “hey you guys……….”
Greatest MOVIE EVER!! Thank you so much for making our childhood awesome!
My Nephew when he was a small boy was shocked when he saw Sloth. He was open mouthed with a look of pure horror on his face but he could not take his eyes off the screen. We adults were creased up with laughter watching him watching The Goonies.
I happily quote Mama Frittelli by saying: "This is a real treat."
I never knew this exisited. Seeing the Sloth makeup process was so cool. Now, what really struck me as new was hearing the late, great, Lupe Ontivoros speaking WITHOUT her accent. I never knew that about her. My god. She had me convinced my entire laugh that her accent was real. Bravo señora.
Richard Donner and quite a bunch of the supporting cast have passed on since this doc was made. I say there should never be a sequel and for damn sure, NO REMAKE / RE-IMAGINING. Leave Goonies alone and respect the legacy that Donner and company left for us.
it's not "frittelli" but "Fratelli" that means Brothers in italian: "Gang of brothers" in italian: "Banda Fratelli" :D
Lupe did seem to have an accent though? You mean her speaking in English?
The Goonies was made with love. That's why it will always be in our hearts.. our beautiful memories of our childhood.. this film is my childhood.. I love it dearly.. Bring back the love Hollywood ❤
That’s true…you could tell
I've watched it over a 100 times since being a kid. I'll watch it another 100 times with my kids. We watched it the other day. It's still wonderful every single time. Nostalgia is a wonderful drug
This movie is what I remember being kid was all about....Being an adult now all I can say is...Goonies don't die...I'm gonna be a Goonie for life!
I thank Richard Donner this movie this is my greatest memory i have as a kid , huge thank-you
Been in astoria for a week this summer🥰🥰🥰 dreamlike… goonies in the air, everywhere… and went to haystack rock as well… just beautiful
As much as I'd love a Goonies 2... I'm sure it would turn out terrible, so no, please leave this one alone!
Amen
I remember seeing the movie in a theater, but there was technical issues and only saw half the movie. Seeing the rest on video (a year after probably), what an awesome movie.
I remember my cousin and I going to the movies and watching "Goonies" on the big screen.
I still watch it from time to time.
Sean Astin is a favorite. Loved him in "Lord of the Rings" also.
One of my favorite lines is when Robert Davi says, "come on lets kill each other over the pepperoni!" 😂😂 its crazy to see their real relationship.
i was an 80s kid , this is one of my favorite movies , still watch it often , actually watching it right now 🖤🖤
My dad took me to see this opening day and we pretty much had the whole theater to ourselves. It was awesome!!!
My parents took us to see The Goonies when I was 13, and I told my friends how good the movie was. They wanted to see it, so I asked my parents if I could go see it again with my friends. They told me no. I snuck to see it again, and I got in trouble.
My favorite movie of all time. This was my childhood....and now my kids are enjoying it. Great documentary and sneak peek behind the scenes.
We say that about every great movie we see. Don't act like you don't lol
Wow!!!
What a pleasant surprise to discover this!!
I shared with my bro and sis before I got through five minutes...
ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES OF MY CHILDHOOD !!!
Goonies and Ladyhawk are my favorite adventure movies from that era.
Loved Goonies, I was the same age as the kids in it at the time. So nostalgic watching it.
Us kids were different back then
I would love to see the 7 hr first cut of the movie
They say this movie was made with love, and that's why it's such a classic success...but I think it's beyond that. I think it's right timing in the 80's golden era movie industry as well as pop culture. That's what made movies like "The Goonies" and sit-coms "The Wonder Years" into such an icon. The 80's to early 90's was the nostalgic wonder years for most of us.
Almost every character in the Goonies is iconic in some way, but Sloth might be one of the most iconic movie characters in any movie.
I always wondered of the octopus was the same one from the movie "Popeye" with Robin Williams. Love the goonies, favorite movie of all time. I'm 46 but everything I watch it takes me back to my days as a kid. Just a perfect cast, script, directors, filming locations. A great movie.
If somebody ever finds those gorilla scenes they can't find it'll be worth millions
This and red dawn were my rainy day staples!
Even in England you ask anyone who grew up in the 80s what's your fave film 99 percent will say the goonies
What a treat this was. Thanks for sharing!
One of my favorites as a kid and today
Do the truffle shuffle!
One of my absolute favorite childhood movies and still is to this day.
He hated doing that, when they shot the scene it was just him, he wouldn't do it if the other kids were watching, of course you think ita funny, when it's really sad that he was forced to humiliation himself to get laughs.🖕

Friends picking on each other is what they do. It's part of the fun of being friends as everyone knows there's no ill will.
30 y later, i still love it, watch it regularly. It s been a long time since i ve seen something as good, the 1rst season of stranger things is the only thing that comes as close nowadays.
Such a wholesome era in time.
I reamber my uncle taking me and my kid brother to see it in Tampa fl. First movie i ever seen, a perfect Gem 💎 ✨️! Ya, I am a Goonies!
Thank you for this upload Ron! I was in Astoria for 2 weeks during the making of The Goonies. Reason I was there was at the time, the US Navy had an ammunition offload facility there--bullets, large projectiles, small missiles, etc.. During that 2 weeks of stay, it rained alot--my kind of weather, loved it. I was lucky to witness and watch 2 week's worth of Speilberg shooting the scenes. I loved the movie before it was released! Kinda a funny thing--Speilberg lived in this piece of crap GMC motorhome on site. It can be seen in the movie, camera shot is from upstairs and shooting down to the lot.
That's such a great story! Thanks for sharing with me!
You're welcome, Ron! I'm glad you enjoyed @@RonFugelseth
Proud 80's kid and Goonie for life.
This was the absolute best film for me and my best friend Dominic for many many years in the 80s 90s
Love that they are still so close
RIP David Matuszak who died of a accidental overdose that dude was funny and awesome
Hey you Guys. Classic. One of the best 80s movies Ever !!!!!!!!!!
One of the stations showed the Goonies for 24 hrs just the other day. I had it on all day!! And you bet I introduced my kiddos to this movie. It holds up. Such a good movie!
Thanks for making such a masterpiece
when films were great. still watch this every now and then and its still a great film
SWEET!! Good to see a new upload Ron! Love your stuff!!
Thanks, buddy! I'm so busy putting my creativity into work, plus having teenagers, that I don't have as much time to put into personal projects. I appreciate you watching!
One of my all-time favorite movies. It's still a summer go-to for me at age 45.
I actually remember John's spread in Playgirl!
Such a fcuking classic, we grew up on this ❤️
😁👍
You don't make a cult classic. It BECOMES a cult classic.
One of the best movies from the 80s
Ahhh , Astoria, home of the goonies and another of my favourites, short circuit!
Had me hooked when I was 12 in 1985 :) xoxoxoxo
Goonies was my most beloved film when I was a child.
After watching it with my friends, we embarked on our own adventure on our bicycles, although we had a delightful time in reality, it was not as exhilarating as we had imagined.😂
Haha I just watched this with my boys 2 nights ago.
Classic!
48 years old and still love it
Loved it ,pure love for this movie ❤❤❤❤
Goonies never say die
How fun I bet it was to make this film! Especially when you have two adult men arguing and goofing around all the time like kids themselves 😂❤
One of my favorite movies as a kid
Goonies was the best kids ensemble film
Great movie,collection!!!!!
I’m 42 and still watch this movie with my wife and 11year old every time we go camping in the rv. We have matching tshirt 😅
Amazing!
Most normal interview of corey Feldman ive ever seen
Wondering when this was made
Davi seems to think telling how he annoys & bullies people makes for good antecdotes. Inexplicable.
Yeah he says " it was cute, they would laugh" lol. They probably hated him
my favourite film of all time
Ah man. I miss the 80s.
I've always wanted Universal or something to make a Goonies water slide ride like in the movie. You go down the slide and then get to swim up to the boat. I think that would be cool as heck.
Any other 39 year olds here who were obsessed with The Goonies?!
The Goonies should NEVER have a sequel or a remake, EVER!
i grew up in the area this was filmed:)
Same with me, on 2024, I turn 44 on March 27. I was 5 when the movie came out. I miss life being simpler and the times. Too much technology now and smartphones.
Most normal i have ever seen feldman is this interview tbh
In addition to the fairly common knowledge octopus and convenience store scenes, this movie has a LOT of deleted material, some of which was shown in the companion magazine I still have from back then. For example:
- The Goonies had a deleted official oath, which Andy takes in the wishing well (I think the storyboard for this was shown in this video)
- Data’s Slick Shoes backfire and he slips on the log, so Mikey comes to save him, both almost getting washed away by a wave in the process (foreshadowing the wave that almost takes out the Fratelli bros in the final cut)
- On the pirate ship, while confronting the Fratellis, Data tries an invention called the Intimidator, which also backfires and causes his coat to inflate and pop, sending projectiles everywhere (his backfiring inventions is a running gag mostly cut from the movie)
- On the plank, Stef offers to share her breath with Mouth, directly leading to his thanking her in the final cut.
Indisputably the greatest movie ever made.
Trust me, we all remember you from the legendary thomas fan.
This is my all time favorite movie ❤❤❤
never seen this doc, awesome
I went to Job corps in Astoria Oregon it was called tongue point Job Corp place was beautiful unbelievable I got to see where Free Willy jumped the wall and The goonie house pretty amazing I didn't get to get that close to it cuz it I was at school but it was amazing out there very magical
Great movie
Still can’t believe there is no part 2. I’ve been wanting to write a Hawaiian screenplay of a Goonies type movie. With Captain Cook as 1 eye Willy.
Gotta love Richard Donner doing everything in his power not to have the gorilla scene in the movie, "if you love them that much you shoot it." and I'm sure he knows where the footage is. Sean Astin has even mentioned how the ending being reshot may have been to have an excuse to remove the conclusion to the gorilla situation, leading to the cut of the whole subplot.
Loved this film as a child ❤
I love this movie.
I saw in early- mid20's. Still good
The power Richard Donnar still has over these people even now they're fully grown men is creepy: 22:21 23:08. He still treats them like they're children.
Corey Feldman has been is so cool!
Didn't recognize the guy that played Chunk. I was like "who is this guy acting like he was in the movie"? It's skinny Chunk!
You sound like a Mouth, but you look like a Chunk."
Sorry, I know it's wrong but I laughed my ass off so loud. Glad that Jeff Cohen did well for himself. Goonies4Life
A sequel could be cool.Their kids or grandkids going on a new adventure.
Damn the actors are looking great after 20 years. Please make another movie
No, now they would probably be black girls
Wonder how many can hold the Goonies movies responsible for potholes in their neighborhood. As kids been looking for hidden pirate treasures, after watching the movie
Real life pirates didn't bury their treasures
@@queenmedesa And how many kids had that idea, after watching goonies
It’s such a fun and great children’s adventure movie
