Thank you so much for reacting to these 2 songs!! I absolutely love Darko and I just really wanted to share with you the 2 ends of the spectrum that they can bring! I didn't mean to make you cry!! I can tell you that the first time I heard Donna that it was completely unexpected and so we're the tears that came with it!! I lost both of my parents in 2020 so it hit pretty hard!! Again Thank you so much!! ❤️
Thats because Josh is playing drums and the guitar, the song Donna is about Josh losing his grandmother to old age and stuff like that.
Djent is music on/off patterns. So when the guitar hits the same note over and over in different patterns, that's the 'djent' aspect.
The definition of Djent is pretty easy. Most Music we know is structured around different notes with mostly the same rythmic pattern being played in a harmonic scale. Conversely, Djent is when the music is structured around mostly one single note (the open low string of the guitar, also referred to as '0' as in zero) but that note is played to a complex pattern of multiple different rythms.
This song is a good example for Djent as the music is clearly structured around rythm over melody, which gives it a 'tribal' effect.
I like that you’re both open minded about the requests you get, even if it’s not your usual style. A lot of my favorite bands or songs were an acquired taste, including Darko.

Djent is also widely composed of low tuned guitars, Chuggy, heavy riffs, and often the guitar and bass drums are syncopated
And yeah Josh is left handed using a right handed guitar

Darko is mostly deathcore. Djent is kinda hard to define but it’s basically progressive metal (like dream theater) but with emphasis on complex rhythms, cool syncopation, odd meters, fancy chords, and low tunings. Listen to periphery, animals as leaders, and monuments to get a better idea of djent
Check out some more Darko US or another "Deathcore" band Defamed !
