So Losing my Mind is about Ronnie and his dealings with becoming famous and falling into hardcore partying/drugs.. not wanting to change his ways because he was enjoying it. Losing my Life is about Ronnie realizing after he had his daughter that he had to change his life, that being around all that was a bad influence on her and would only get him into more trouble. Drugs is about killing off his old self to finally became the parson/father he wants to be for his kid. Willow's role at the end was realizing that addiction in so many cases is genetic and that now he has to deal with the possibility that she may have inherited his addictive traits and will go down a bad path just like he did... so the song coming back in was the start of a new cycle... the cycle for his daughter.
You guys HAVE to do I’m Not a Vampire(2011)/I’m Not a Vampire Revamped (2021) 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 So I think of the three songs as stages of his life/addiction. The tone of the lyrics and the progression of the music changes through all of them. The black stuff from the first one represented heroin and the ascent was the high. The song was about his active addiction, the lyrical tone was defiant, and the music was less heavy and more upbeat. In Losing My Life the image in the beginning was him confronting his reflection and it kind of splits off into good/sober Ronnie and bad/addicted Ronnie, as far as I can tell. The lyrics are confrontational and aggressive. Then you have the break down where he’s fighting himself. When he wakes up and his daughter is older, I think that is representing the possibility that he could’ve lost all that time with her from being in jail and drugs and things like that. Then he talks about killing himself sometimes, which is a pretty straightforward metaphor for reinventing himself, getting sober, getting out of jail, changing a style of music, etc. Then at the end of Losing My Life he buries his old self, but then he comes back and they go into a fight with each other, and that sequence is the opening of Drugs. The breakdown is much heavier in Drugs than the other two. He murders himself with a chainsaw, he confronts his mom and takes control of the things that happened in his past. You can see the progression of music and the progression of his state of mind. Also “the American dream is a killing machine” is a super dope lyric and he’s referencing the general idea of that, but also talking about his mom and her addiction and not being there. Then it ends with him waking up and seeing Willow, his daughter, her eyes flash like the other versions of himself, in what I assume is to represent the chance that he is passing down the things that he’s been through to her and his concern about that. All of that is what I get from the videos, watching his twitch stream, and reading other things so someone correct me if I’m wrong on anything 😊

The whole trilogy is about his struggle with drugs. The first video is about the bliss that comes from the first high, going to heaven. The second one his voice has a different layer in it but it’s about it being him but not really. The person that let drugs take over his life (the blonde one). The third one was about killing his addict self. His mother was lost to drugs and he struggled with it. His daughter represents his fear that she will suffer the same. As a parent who has struggled with addiction, I can understand.

Waking up to find his daughter much older might be related to him being in jail for a while. His daughter having glowing eyes too may be his fear that she'll get an addiction too someday. i love the visual storytelling in these videos, and the one that always sticks with me is the visual of his daughter having that same "split persona" like he had, a father that is a former addict seeing his child and wondering in terror if they have the same "monster" in them is just so powerful... ronnie doesn't mess around with his lyrics every word is like a punch to the gut in the best way, my favorite example of this is in popular monsters he says "...crash my car just to feel again..." a simple phrase, but it just resonates so powerfully... there are singers, there are rappers, there are musicians, but ronnie is a true artist
By far my most favorite lyrical line of any song I've heard. I've listened to the song hundreds of times and i still get goosebumps throughout the song but that line right there just hits a spot like nothing else has musically
