To teach singing well, you should be able to sing as well as you promise people they will be able to sing after studying with you. If your teacher can't sing the songs you want to sing as well as the original singer, then you need a new teacher.

S. VA, learning to sing is learning all of the many things that combine to help you to get better. You learn one step at a time. After a while, you have learned many steps and they all come together to help you sing songs.
When I was in my school choir, when I was a sweet, innocent schoolboy and before I sold my soul to Santa (I think) and became a heavy metal singer, we used to warm up in a very similar way, with the phrase, "Barely sorry, oh,", which came out as "Beh-eh-ly-soh-re, oh", so we covered the octave.
I just wanted to say how great these videos are! I have a terrible voice and a low register...bass-baritone...I started as a G2- G3. Very low. After a few weeks of practice, I have increased my range to my target goal of C4. I couldnt believe I could even get there. A3-C4 was very difficult and my voice always cracked and switched into falsetto. Now I sing C4 effortlessly and can even stretch to D4 and E4 on occasion if I really push. I just want to say thank you! I still have a long way to go in pitch and intonation but its made singing so much more enjoyable. Its no fun since I saw red from warrant in a C3!!!
You've got GREAT GOD-GIVEN TALENT BROTHER!!! At 3 : 31 - 3 :33 : "That GOD-GIVEN"..."that GOD CREATED"!!! Ken, if you get the chance, would you be kind enough to please do a video teaching scales on the guitar and how to play them within chords? With your skill and teaching ability it would mean the world to a guitar player like me who never took lessons . I am great on chords but don't know what scales can be played within those chords. For years I have been copying songs from tabs, never really knowing what notes I am playing within chords. You have such a plethora of knowledge on singing and guitar playing that your guitar lesson would be truly be a gift to anyone lucky enough to see it. Thanks for all your great videos.
I strengthen my voice in the gym baby. Mainly while doing compound movements and HITT cardio but on occasion I also incorporate it on isolation movements. 💪💪💪 No I don't, nor do I sing. Thank you for the info Ken. 😁 Btw the diaphragmatic exercises are working wonders. The sound of my speaking voice has been less monotonous and clearer. Blowing my nose with the power of the abs is also a very weird but helpful for getting cleared up, lol. And I'm almost stable at C2#, so it's getting there. Thanks again! 😁
Thank God For Ken Templin I'm sure the Next Great singing will From His teachings Thanks again I've learned so much from you wish I could have Had you back when I was younger But never to late to Get better at my favorite pass time🎤🎶🎸🎶
Finally I understood how one should do it :) In following and singing with you I saw how important is the support, actually one can't do anything without it. There is one point about the head voice - often one can't free his voice and do it right so there is a kind of strain. That's because women are afraid it will sound like a strangled cat and man are afraid they will sound like women :) But your videos show how one can free his voice and sound great! Just in following and trying to imitate your demonstrations one learns a lot. Thanks!
What a great example of a vocal coach ! I’m an instructor as well. Ken teaches by his own singing examples, he will do the exercises right along with you. A+++

Thank you brother, keep up the Great work and thanks so much for your free shares...you're AMAZING!!!
I just realized something.... I don't always come to watch Ken's videos for singing. The dude just makes me feel happy with his enthusiasm.
taylorMFilms I'm really happy to hear that!
Every time i had tried to sing but when i listen to it my voice is so crack so i laugh on my self but after this video i am trying to learn in your style thanks for making a video thanks a lot.
pratik bhardwaj - Awesome! I am happy to hear that!
I have no idea about the music but the way its explained in this video has deep magnetic impact. Ken seems to have something musically embedded within him that's making it so easy for me to understand what he says. I would be watching more of Ken's videos. :)
Looking forward to you watching many more videos, manish!
Mr. Ken thank you very much. Your head voice tutorial has helped me a lot in reaching those notes 👍👌
I'm glad to hear that, Ashvet! 😊
I strengthen my voice in the gym baby. Mainly while doing compound movements and HITT cardio but on occasion I also incorporate it on isolation movements. 💪💪💪
No I don't, nor do I sing. Thank you for the info Ken. 😁
Btw the diaphragmatic exercises are working wonders. The sound of my speaking voice has been less monotonous and clearer. Blowing my nose with the power of the abs is also a very weird but helpful for getting cleared up, lol.
And I'm almost stable at C2#, so it's getting there.
Thanks again! 😁
You're welcome for the info, ultra!
Man that room acoustic !

I find I can actually do this if I do it softly.
@kentamplin is a very knowledgeable teacher and I enjoy watching his tutorial videos, they are very informative.
Hi Ken. I love all ur videos its really help thanks for the wonderful vocals lessons...
That's great to hear, Luzii, Luis th!
Thanks!
Glad it was helpful, Margarita!
The goal: sing the one by high lander
The plan: watch as much ken tamplin as I can

Hi Ken, my cord vocals were damaged when I was a baby i had some complications so my voice is low and raspy I think I'm an alto but the problem is my head voices are really weak and i think this video would really help me!
Great!
Thank you for the tips. I am a singer in our church but really I appreciate this exercise and I can apply this exercise daily.

I dry out and my voice gets tired if I’m in a concert, so frustrating when you’re the lead soprano as I am. Or even during some of the more challenging solos. I need bunches of help on things like that. Can’t wait to get on the forum! 😋
