Elva Rezi ENTERTAINMENT Vocal type is more about the color of the voice than the range ... don’t get branded with titles and classifications unless u plan on being a classical or operatic singer... otherwise sing whatever feels comfortable. He didn’t sound as light as Michael Jackson because they have different voices making them both unique , nevertheless they both could sing the same notes.
My earlier vocal teachers always used to talk about "support" but I never understood what it was. I managed to get a strong passage from chest to middle but your explanation--that strong head voice is dependent on a strong chest--finally gave me an understanding of what support is. I started following your singing lessons like a month ago and i DO NOT REGRET IT. Other online singing tutorials explain the vocal technique you want to learn, but your singing lessons explain everything around the vocal technique (like you said about "building a house") so that i really understand it. This makes your tutorials actual lessons and i love them. After just a month i can sing much much better, better than i could imagine after just a month. Keep doing what you do because you bring joy to so many people who want to learn how to sing!
Also other singing tutorials try to make everything easier by changing the technique and stuff, but that's just not the way it works. You can only learn how to sing by dedication and practicing using the right techniques or you will end up hurting yourself
Thank you Ken! I sing so many songs in mixed voice, because I just like the keys they fall in. They're usually too low to go all head voice, but too high to belt out in chest voice the whole time. I'm always trying to get my transitions to and from head voice to be smooth and seamless...those exercises are helpful!
Well I don't know how to sing in any better but I can now kick a soccer ball 80 yards so that's something! Side note, I think my knee bends the wrong way.
DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I was singing with 2 much chest and couldnt reach higher than b4, and im a tenor, now im belting c5s with ease . THIS VIDEO HELPED ME SO MUCH!
This guy is literally a genius... if his course was a bit cheaper ($100) I would buy it in a heartbeat. Although perhaps I'm underestimating the amount of unique content in his course.
Thank you so much ken for clarifying the two different passaggios... i was so confused as i knew what is my head voice and can hit it separately but when i start with the chest voice, i always used to end up in my belting voice .. thank you for solving this mystery.. you are awesome.. i will definitely take up your course once i have money ... Thanks again
This is one of those things I sort of stumbled upon in my late twenties. But I never knew how to build it or what exercises to do to build it. As a baritone myself, my chest voice was only problematic when I sang with a lot of color and I would go flat. I always had a pretty strong natural head voice too. I just never knew how to connect the two or sing in mixed voice or even what that was. So thanks Ken. I love your explanations of things. You are a good communicator!
thankyou mr.Ken, im not a talented person in vocal but you help me a lot for developing my vocal, i can figure it out how vocal technique works, now i just need to do more practice, i believe practice make perfect, thankyou thankyou and thankyou
This helped me so much! I've been in classes and trying to do the mixed voice but it just wouldn't work but I feel like I can really get it developed with this technique since it doesn't hurt at all, like it usually does. Thank you!
I think this might be the best from what I've seen. I've learned the hard way. I strengthened chest and head. Then searched up ways to bidhe over the break. Gradually increasing volume and the size of my mouth. A lot of people just jump right in like you say.
i have been shouting like a big since 1999 ! and its with youtube video very recently that i completely change my techique beeing able to emet a note propely !
thank you Mr. Tamplin for these tutorials. I just learned, from my husband, that these videos from you WERE tutorials. I have been looking for help/training for a long time. You are the 1st to provide it and I thank you! Your voice is spectacular! "Singggg Hallalujah!!" :)
Janine, you are welcome. I'm so glad that you and your husband have discovered my channel, and yes, there are a TON of tutorials, and a TON of vocal demonstrations, where you can see and hear the techniques from the tutorials being implemented. Dig in and enjoy! If you want more in-depth instruction, you can check out my course at KenTamplinVocalAcademy.com/
Am an 🇮🇳Indian Believe me guyzz this is just amazing u can shift ur scale like 1 key in two weeks And with in three months ur gonna get an amazing range of singing... What ever u are baritone or alto whtever.. Trust me.. Trust him ❤
Thank you Ken you really are an inspiration. I am 61 and really cannot sing for peanuts. During the last two years I've been learning guitar. Playing simple traditional melodies from Hal Leonard's books - I can't play them well yet but I've noticed that when trying to sing - the guitar really guides me to the correct notes. My objective is to impress my wife and kids with one or two songs. Is it really possible? Do you have a short course for people like me who just want a bit of fun?
Of course it's possible, and I do have a Weekend Warriors course for those who don't want to put in the time it would take to seriously pursue the voice at a more professional level. Check it out, Kevin: KenTamplinVocalAcademy.com/
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy I'm 2 years late but since you are very advanced in singing for a guy like me is our head voice our falsetto or what do you think of it ? It's the same register or different
I recorded myself 10 months ago doing alot of the warm ups and even some of the exs' i shouldnt have been doing (like this one...) but Im kinda glad I did so i could hear how naturally 'UN trained" I was...Recently,the "Increasing Range Series" AND this lesson are soundin SO MUCH better and feeling more natural. My throat is stayin open on its own now without me thinking of the" (doc and tongue depresser) every sec..LOL...These videos prove themselves even more once you RE visit them after building/applying some beginner techniques. Its been truly life changing for sure!
Genuinely thank you so much. I'd watched a bunch of videos on how to sing in mixed voice but only when it came to your explanation that I was enlightented. The point explained here that helped me was that we can't just jump right into the mixed voice but gotta lay a firm chest voice "foundation" before reaching that middle register. That helped me to hit the A5 I'd always been dying for more effortlessly. Thanks so much.
I feel like a struggle more with middle voice than my falsetto. When singing a lower note to a higher one a have trouble getting there smoothly but if I sung the two notes separately I can do them fine. It’s not something I noticed until I started watching your videos. I’m probably good at my falsetto simply because I thought that was the issue and kept practicing that thinking it was the problem haha. So thank you for that. I’ll start working on it. It’s frustrating when I’m trying to sing notes that I feel like are definitely in my range and my voice breaks.
So mind blowingly glad that I stumbled on this video. I've looked at your website and you definitely have my respect and undivided attention. Coaching finalists on the voice and many other people who have exceptional talent and skill, seemingly with ease?! Thank god I found this video. Thank god :D Actually. Thank you Ken!
I'm glad you stumbled upon my channel, too, David! There's a lot to learn and you'll get information from my videos that you won't find elsewhere. Stick around and enjoy the learning!
Boy am I glad arriving here. Have been trying to find stuff that's authentic. Recently embarked on a journey from amateur to pro singing and subscription to KTVA is what I needed. Hope to enrol

Thanks for Your lesson My vocal range is now: Lowest: D2 Highest (Chest): G#4 Highest (Mixed): F#5 Highest (Head): Eb5 Highest (Falsetto): F#6 All from your lessons and advice
This has been really working! Fun fact, for transwomen training their voice, unlocking and strengthening mixed voice all while fixating on muscles that raise up the larynx is vital. Thanks for your help!
Man, this is really key to properly voicing so many phrases /syllables that have always sucked in my repitorie. I CANT WAIT to get this technique in MM..You can really FEEL IT transfer when doing these ex's properly...Ive always tried PUSHING harder when climbing in pitch...NO MORE!!!!...Thanks for the great analogys you use that make these techniques easier to grasp and take hold more quickly!
Ken Tamplin, I really appreciate the way you show how to master the head voice, the chest voice and passaggio. I practice the Ah and diaphragm daily. Can't get as perfectly high as you with the vibrato yet. Might be a matter of guts, getting more strength from the diaphragm and chest and/ or keeping my throat open. Working on it, getting a strong smooth passaggio, and I might be almost there. Thank you so much.
I've been doing research here and there, then practicing till what I learned becomes part of my style then studying more. I have a hard time going long periods of time in the head voice, but for a barotone speaker, I think I can get pretty high. When I am struggling with a song, there is something that I've been doing, similar to when he was singing "allang", but not saying that.. I'll explain, but I think it is how to connect the two. Edited so the video didn't auto shuffle. So, a part of my research involved learning to sing Phantom of the Opera, said that Opera singers hold their trachea in the position of a yawn. So when I'm struggling, I was the song, do a fake yawn and feel my throat, then try to sing without allowing it to slide out of that position. From there, you can do, what seem like mini-belts to freely move theough my vocal range. It is kind of like what James from Metallica does at the end of almost ever line. If you haven't heard the song, you can hear James' noise he makes well at the end of each "yeah" and the start of I Disappear. It is like he uses small exhales to shift where his voice is in his range. I hope that makes sense. This still isnt natural to me, but I am working on it.
i need that mixed voice.. i think i'm a tenor, and my chest voice actually sucks.. and thats what I really need to find, and learn that type of voice. Your video is really helpful.
I’m a trans woman, naturally a baritone but needing to sound like a woman to be safe in the world, and watching this made me realize that my feminine voice is the belting register you mentioned, the difference between a masculine and feminine voice from a vocal setup like mine IS that Prima Passagio!! I’ve been trying to find better words for the feeling of reaching above something to achieve both tenor singing and feminine speech, and you’ve given me words to use, so thank you.
Hey Ken, love your tutorials, your videos are a great help. I've checked out your website also and your Pro Bundle content I will purchase in the not too distant future, ASAP, to be honest, I have a couple other music projects and things pending first. Chris Cornell, may he rest in peace, was my all-time favorite singer, and I can go relatively high for a baritone(not as high as Chris) when needed but I want to obtain a bit more extended range and control in the upper register of my voice and I believe your just the man to get me there. Appreciate your time. Cheers.
I wish I could get personal vocal lessons from him. I went from opera for 4 years, to all kinds of rock and singing in a band...and I'm still trying to figure things out. lol.
This is the best explanation! Thank you for taking the time to really spell out for dummies how the 'mechanics' work. Mixed Voice always seemed to be like this mythical treasure that you want to find, but nobody could really give you a map on how to even get to the island. Thank you for drawing up that map. Of course the 'digging up' of the treasure is still the work that I have to put in. But now I know how to improve my shoveling. :D
Your channel is amazing. I love the analogies and your overall teaching style. As a person who has recently (finally, after more than 10 years of on-and-off singing) managed to tap their mixed voice and is now learning how to properly use it, I can really appreciate this and fully agree with everything you say. For an arguably still a layman to be able to fully relate, I think that is a great thing a teacher can do.
Thank you for this wonderful platform of learning really great music & techniques. I am an Indian classical Ghazal Singer & I need help with my lower notes. I am great with high notes but really bad with low notes which are extremely important in Ghazal Singing. Basically my voice doesn't have Bass. Please help & advise
A person would have to hear what is happening with your voice on those low notes, in order to give youfeedback, Bhupendra! You can post an audio or video demo that shows the issue you are having on my singer's forums. The moderators there can listen and make suggestions.
This is a really great explanation on how to ascend and descend using a mix of voices starting with the chest as a strong foundation and gently backing off weight and leaning into the higher sounds smoothly. Is the mixed voice a middle register, that uses all resonators? Is the mixed voice something you generally want to stay in to use the power of all resonators?
Hi Ken - can you please put together a list of songs to listen to and practice to become vocally versatile? I trust your opinion on this. Some songs are just not worth listening to because of the autotune or other artificial modifications. Anyone. Please share!
Rae M-That's a great question for my free singing forum! Please post there, beneath "General Singing". Other singers will benefit from the reply and you will receive great feedback from either myself or one of my moderators. It's free! forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
This has helped me too. I went from a A4 chest voice to a Eb5 chest voice. I also had no falsetto or headvoice register. I now can go up to G#5 falsetto and B5 headvoice. I'm still learning to go higher.
Hi Ken, first of all thank you so much for all the incredibly useful material you are uploading for all of us, personally it has helped me enormously and I'm about to record the vocals on my album. There is a question that I'm sure many singers like me would like to be answered but nobody seems to give a straight answer and I would love to hear your valued opinion on this: Is mixed voice considered as only a question of resonance in relation to chest and head, for example I could sing in my mixed resonance while chest belting in the C5 zone or is there some sort of "ghost mix third register" during the secondo passaggio where you can sing in? Basically are we technically always either in chest or head register when we sing or not? I sing rock and my secondo passaggio shift lasts only the moment I connect. Thanks man, you seriously rock! Greetings from London.
Stefan Romance- Thanks for your kind word and thoughtful question. Please join my vocal forum. These are the types of questions myself or my commentators answer. Check it out! forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com It's free :)
Hope this doesn't sound rude but what's with the tongue? I've only ever seen you do this. Is it to do with releasing tension on? or is it to do with tone or what?
You're not being rude, you're just asking, and that's fine, so thanks for asking. This is the most relaxed position of Open Throat Technique. First you train the tongue flat to the base of the mandible, then concave to the jaw, then in it's most relaxed state it will protrude away from the back of the throat, creating maximum space in the back of the throat for perfect vocal tract shaping (as well as using it in place of hard consonants and glottal stops which become problematic and constrictive especially when singing hard ock).
It may create tension for you. I didn't get to it myself for years, and it's not part of what I teach in my course. Tongue position, yes, but this particular position, no, it's a bit advanced for most students. If it requires you to tense your tongue, then you're not doing it correctly. It's done through almost total relaxation.
I bought the beginner level of the HTSBTAE course and I went from having dogs howl to people complimenting me when I sing. Still, I have a loooong way to go. Kind of broke right now, but definitely saving for the other two levels. Mr. Tamplin, thank you.
Thanks for your comment, Antonio. I'm glad the howling dogs have turned into complimenting humans! There is much to learn. I'm glad to hear from you and how you are doing!
So, I finally did That 1:42 without breaking, an did it right without breaking, I find my Mix, it feels like such a vulnerable place or spot, it is not that easy to find, you just had to concentrate and listen and feel how the sound just dont break as you go up, theres a little spot where the sound just blends perfectly, its crazy, its really a very abstrac concept to get into practice.
Let me know if these singing tutorial videos are helping you to learn about the voice! I love to read your comments, and hear what you want to learn more about! I also appreciate your song suggestions. Please like this video, and subscribe to my channel. Thanks for being here!
They are very helpful, thanks! Would love to see more videos on how to learn to sing hard rock with distortion and rasp properly and safely. I've watched the videos that you have on this topic in your Pro Bundle, but am still confused about exactly what to practice and what to feel for in my body and throat. Thank you!
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy ken I already have a very strong chest voice but the closest I can get to head voice is with falsetto and it's very flutey how do I exercise that to make it more bold so to speak
Ken, you're great explaining. There's a lot of videos about this, but they don't make good examples like you. I was looking for a video to explain mix voice to a friend and I found videos full of mistakes... Thanks!
Do you recommend leaning into the sound going up? I've heard from some people that the way to sing higher is move the sound deeper into the back of the throat. Not sure which one you recommend. Also is there a limit as to how much higher you can take your chest voice? For example can a Baritone pull up chest to the A4/B4 range?
I’m fine with falsetto and chest voice - both loud and clear, but the first few notes after the flip to falsetto are just quieter, how can I get them to be just as loud as the rest???
It takes time and practice. There are many things to keep in balance in order to balance out all of the things that control getting through your passaggio.
I find that changing the vowel at the break to head voice, from "on" to "and" for example, makes it harder to avoid the yodel. Why would that be the case, and is it just a matter of practice to get it right?
Paul, practice doing scales through the register change on the "AA" vowel, as in And. Practice at low volume, and get your connecting skills working better on that vowel.
Hey, Ken, I am trying to learn how to sing in mix voice. I think i might be singing in mix voice sometimes but i cant really tell. i can feel that it is not my chest voice or my head voice but i still cant hit some notes very easily and when i sing it sounds like a weird whiny shaky sound. when it comes to mixed voice...my head straight thinking *Queen of Mixed Voice Sohyang*
Peter Teddy 👍
Amazing resources, once I discovered how to access my mixed voice, I unlocked a zone in my voice that really brought me to the next level in singing.
Awesome, Nicolo!
Thank you, Mr. Tamplin. It almost feels wrong learning so much for free!
Glad it was helpful! kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
Absolutely love all this vocal education helps me with my 33 year career voice to keep going stronger than ever
Your voice will last and last if you use the proper techniques to keep it healthy! It will just continue to grow stronger.
DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I was singing with 2 much chest and couldnt reach higher than b4, and im a tenor, now im belting c5s with ease . THIS VIDEO HELPED ME SO MUCH!
Congratulations on the improvement, and You're Welcome!
This guy is literally a genius... if his course was a bit cheaper ($100) I would buy it in a heartbeat. Although perhaps I'm underestimating the amount of unique content in his course.
Ryan Kwast- The proof is in the singing! :)
WOW..just went UP & DOWN w/out that accursed 'break'! WOOHOOO! Thanks Ken...workin on it.
Woot-woot!!!😊
This is one of those things I sort of stumbled upon in my late twenties. But I never knew how to build it or what exercises to do to build it. As a baritone myself, my chest voice was only problematic when I sang with a lot of color and I would go flat. I always had a pretty strong natural head voice too. I just never knew how to connect the two or sing in mixed voice or even what that was. So thanks Ken. I love your explanations of things. You are a good communicator!
I'm happy to help, Len Jennings!
I just started watching, want to learn how to sing, your lessons are wonderful
I'm glad you found me, TAMIKA!
thankyou mr.Ken, im not a talented person in vocal but you help me a lot for developing my vocal, i can figure it out how vocal technique works, now i just need to do more practice, i believe practice make perfect, thankyou thankyou and thankyou
You're welcome, Rozy! Glad it's helping you!
i think this the best tutorial..because in others they teach you mixed voice immediately.
Awesome!
This helped me so much! I've been in classes and trying to do the mixed voice but it just wouldn't work but I feel like I can really get it developed with this technique since it doesn't hurt at all, like it usually does. Thank you!
Awesome, Antonia!
I think this might be the best from what I've seen. I've learned the hard way. I strengthened chest and head. Then searched up ways to bidhe over the break. Gradually increasing volume and the size of my mouth. A lot of people just jump right in like you say.
after 2 years of trying. i finally got it. i am slow i know. but thanks to you sir, i finally got it. 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome, Imran!
i have been shouting like a big since 1999 ! and its with youtube video very recently that i completely change my techique beeing able to emet a note propely !
This is the best video ever!!! I,m a high soprano and often forget to work on my chest voice and the mix.
Your word pictures are a great learning tool.
That is great to hear, Anne!
thank you Mr.
It's unbelievable how precious these videos are... I'm so thankful to him for all this free content. That's some true altruism. Thanks from Brasil.
Wagner, I'm happy to help you to learn more about your voice. You're welcome. And hello to all of my friends in Brasil!
Someday, if I get the nerve, I'll record a video of me singing to post as a video response. Thanks!

Ang galing ninyo po mag-explain Sir Ken. Salamat! 😊
You sir, impressed me already so why not? :)
Aww this is so cute! I’m glad you’re able to sing now
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy I'm 2 years late but since you are very advanced in singing for a guy like me is our head voice our falsetto or what do you think of it ? It's the same register or different
Sir, I know this was two years ago, but I love this, and I wish you the best!
dude like...there is nothing that you cant do with your voice!..you can even make your voice, crack. you are amazing.
Thanks for the kind words, mehdi!
John, it's good to hear from you and that you have been improving simply by watching my videos and practicing what I show you to do! Totally Awesome!
Awesome, Nguyen! I'm glad to help unlock the puzzle for you!
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Not only me but a good number out there I believe. Thanks again Ken.
This video is very helpful. I don't ever think that I can reach C5 easily & smoothly! Thanks, Ken!
the face he's making, priceless. :D
The secret is in the eyes!
Both the mixed voice video on A vowel and this one have helped me so much.
👍👍👍
So mind blowingly glad that I stumbled on this video. I've looked at your website and you definitely have my respect and undivided attention. Coaching finalists on the voice and many other people who have exceptional talent and skill, seemingly with ease?! Thank god I found this video. Thank god :D Actually. Thank you Ken!

Thanks for Your lesson My vocal range is now:
Lowest: D2
Highest (Chest): G#4
Highest (Mixed): F#5
Highest (Head): Eb5
Highest (Falsetto): F#6
All from your lessons and advice
Bb1(VOCAL FRY)
F2 (LOWEST)
E5 ( CHEST VOICE)
G#5/A5 ( MIXED VOICE)
EB6 (HEAD VOICE)
B6 ( HIFHEST FALSETTO
BB7/B7 ( WHISTLE)
My supported range is Bb2- F#5- D6.
My vocal range is (Bb1)F2- A5- B6- B7
I don't understand what is the difference between head voice and falsetto? My highest voice I can make in the head area is a B6 or a C7.
How to know where our voice is. I can't understand D2, G#4.. How to find it
instagram: xenharmony exactly and I'm confused how all of you guys go that high 😂 it's one thing to hit another to sing in thoes 6 7 octave notes
Just found this channel....I'm a superlative shower and traffic singer....now I'm even better ....great stuff man
That's awesome, Steve!
This has been really working! Fun fact, for transwomen training their voice, unlocking and strengthening mixed voice all while fixating on muscles that raise up the larynx is vital.
Thanks for your help!
😊
Man, this is really key to properly voicing so many phrases /syllables that have always sucked in my repitorie. I CANT WAIT to get this technique in MM..You can really FEEL IT transfer when doing these ex's properly...Ive always tried PUSHING harder when climbing in pitch...NO MORE!!!!...Thanks for the great analogys you use that make these techniques easier to grasp and take hold more quickly!
6:03 on 0.25 speed sounds like the ww2 air raid siren 😂😂
I don't doubt that at all. Put it back on normal speed! ;-)
😂😂 love the videos though, mainly when the are on normal speed. 😊
Haha it really does
You made me feel like watching a WW2 movie tonight
Thanks
Indeed sounds like Silent Hill🤣🤣
omg, I laughed my ass off
Ken Tamplin, I really appreciate the way you show how to master the head voice, the chest voice and passaggio.
Logan Blue- Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you, Pavel.
😊
I have got my confusion cleared.....why I was breaking into yodel.
Thankyou Ken😄
Hey Ken, love your tutorials, your videos are a great help. I've checked out your website also and your Pro Bundle content I will purchase in the not too distant future, ASAP, to be honest, I have a couple other music projects and things pending first. Chris Cornell, may he rest in peace, was my all-time favorite singer, and I can go relatively high for a baritone(not as high as Chris) when needed but I want to obtain a bit more extended range and control in the upper register of my voice and I believe your just the man to get me there. Appreciate your time. Cheers.
Dec, I look forward to your continued vocal growth and development!
This man is so wholesome. I love him. Thanks for teaching me so much.
So nice of you!
The faces this guy makes haha
This did help me out a lot though.

This Is GOLD Thanks KEN!!!!
Roy, you are welcome! Thanks for being here!
Thanks, Jan!
you're perfect.👌🔥🔥
Master, how can we solve the problem of shortness of breath in reading?🙏
I play soccer three times a week and study/practice the KTVA Course. So this is really gratifying.
Awesome, Gabriel!
@@kentamplinthank you I shall post a video soon.

this WORKS! I finally slid DOWN in pitch w/out the accursed yodel break! Thanks Ken ! WOOHOOO!!!!
Woot, woot!!! Awesome!
Glad it was helpful, Jeff!
thanks for beeing so pedagogical Mr Tamplin!
Vocal pedagogy sounds so much more technical than just calling it singing techniques, but you're welcome! :-)
Holy crap. I can do it. A breakthrough!
Awesome, John! 😊
Thank you sir for nice, efective and fowerful coaching it will increase my vocal range..
Ken Sir after seeing your videos I am willing to buy your Course But I think I am very late to go Pro at 17 years
But Sir You are Great
No, 17 is in no way too late... But don't wait too long! :-)
YES KEN,,DEFINATELY! ! LOVE YOU BROTHER IN JESUS CHRIST ☺👍💜🎸〽
Thanks, Sally. Love to you as well!
ODD-one out n about , me to!
This has helped me too. I went from a A4 chest voice to a Eb5 chest voice. I also had no falsetto or headvoice register. I now can go up to G#5 falsetto and B5 headvoice. I'm still learning to go higher.
But it did take me over 1 year to get from a A4 to Eb5. And it took nearly 2 to discover my falsetto and headvoice.
Good for you!
I'm still learning, myself. It's lifelong. 😀
So cool! Are we doing the last note at head voice or light chest? Please I wanna know because these tips are so good! Thanks 🎶💓
Thanks for like.i feel a transition in I on lei that's more heady. How should I approach this? Thanks again.
Ken fabulous! Only a few modules of TH-cam tutorials and I'm doing things that I couldn't do smoothly or without loosening1/ diminishing my voice.
This stuff really works, Bobby. I kid you not.
Hi Ken, first of all thank you so much for all the incredibly useful material you are uploading for all of us, personally it has helped me enormously and I'm about to record the vocals on my album.
There is a question that I'm sure many singers like me would like to be answered but nobody seems to give a straight answer and I would love to hear your valued opinion on this:
Is mixed voice considered as only a question of resonance in relation to chest and head, for example I could sing in my mixed resonance while chest belting in the C5 zone or is there some sort of "ghost mix third register" during the secondo passaggio where you can sing in? Basically are we technically always either in chest or head register when we sing or not? I sing rock and my secondo passaggio shift lasts only the moment I connect.
Thanks man, you seriously rock!
Greetings from London.
Stefan Romance- Thanks for your kind word and thoughtful question. Please join my vocal forum. These are the types of questions myself or my commentators answer. Check it out! forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com It's free :)
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Ok Ken will do, thanks a lot for your reply! S
Thank you- exercise starts at 5 50.
Thank you, that's something to practice this week. Trickyfor me to do this without just creating more tension
It may create tension for you. I didn't get to it myself for years, and it's not part of what I teach in my course. Tongue position, yes, but this particular position, no, it's a bit advanced for most students. If it requires you to tense your tongue, then you're not doing it correctly. It's done through almost total relaxation.
Amazing, thank you. Helping my Soprano voice to hit even higher note☺️👍👍👍
My pleasure 😊
Exercise starts at 05:52 ......👍
I bought the beginner level of the HTSBTAE course and I went from having dogs howl to people complimenting me when I sing.

Thanks for the great videos :)

They are very helpful, thanks! Would love to see more videos on how to learn to sing hard rock with distortion and rasp properly and safely. I've watched the videos that you have on this topic in your Pro Bundle, but am still confused about exactly what to practice and what to feel for in my body and throat. Thank you!
:-) Thanks, Pedro!
Thanks!
Thank you, Ricardo!
Avinash Hingorani Great discussion for the forum. Please join! It's free! forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com
Great tutorial! It really gives me an idea of how to bridge chest and head voice. :)
You are a gem. I might ask my fam for your course for my birthday.
Go for it! 😀
Thanks, Ken. I'll work on it. I just love your videos and more importantly, your obvious joy of singing and teaching. You make me smile a lot!
Brother! Amazing video once again... Great way of explaining what the mixed voice is!
Thanks, Jordan!
I am trying to learn mix voice for theatre, if you are familiar at all I'm trying to get my mix to sound like gavin creel's mix.
i just got the course a few days ago, loving it.. the video quality on your videos on youtube have gotten a lot better!
