  • We showcase three different Native American artifacts on this episode of FAST FINDS -- our newest category of videos involving shorter content. Our first lanceolate Indian artifact find comes from Chaffee, in Southeast Missouri, the second from Twenty Mile Creek in Mississippi, and the final little smoker from our honeyhole south of Jefferson City, Missouri.

      Spike thought it might've been a Quad. I think it was re-worked.

      Rockhounding USA Very similar in shape but quads, if fluted, have short flutes whilst Cumberland points are generally fluted past midways of the point; and often almost to the tip as this one appeared to be.

    If you ever want to go digging in Pennsylvania or the Carolinas get ahold of me, it’s going to take a while for me to get content for you to see, but my wife has some good fossil video on her channel

    • @rockhoundingusa8207
      @rockhoundingusa8207  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the invitation! Where at in Pennsylvania? Are you anywhere near the famous fossil fern area in St Claire?

    • @diggingappalachia954
      @diggingappalachia954 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are about 2 hours away from there, that is the area that our quartz comes from, the gastropod hunting with my husband video on choronzon 333 is in Blair county, I hope to get the crystal collector there someday... we live in Clearfield county Pennsylvania & Lauren’s county sc, down by diamond hill

    • @diggingappalachia954
      @diggingappalachia954 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s hard to find a good fossil spot in saint Clair, you need to get permission from most places now... the wandering woodsman talks about it when he houses there

      Have you ever been to a knap in? They are put together by flint knapper associations , letchwarth state park in ny has a good one in august, flint ridge in Ohio& bald eagle knap in in Pennsylvania

      With COVID causing travel concerns and a lot of other responsibilities, we have not been out collecting as much. I have a new video soon about quartz crystals at a new site in Mt. Ida. Once the spring arrives, (good Lord willing) we would love to hit the trail. Thanks for the gentle jab and encouragement!
