  • What happens when you mix a freshly disced field with a few weeks of heavy rain? You get the perfect recipe for a fantastic day of Indian artifact hunting! We hit the rural countryside around Whitewater, Missouri and hit the jackpot of a variety of tools made from a variety of materials.
Our friend Jake joins Chase and I as we find loads of points, a drill, and hours and hours of good fun!
Special shout-out to Ed Bassmaster for the "Would ya look at that!" viral video:

I can see why this would quickly become your new favorite spots. That second point is a monster made of some beautiful material! Hope you’re able to hit that spot again. Thanks for sharing!

Those were some awesome finds. That big broken one was a shame. I have a couple spots near whitewater. I live just south of cape girardeau. There are hundreds if not thousands of spots to hunt in the old swamp.

The variety of material, from common chert, to banded agate and flint is fascinating.

@@rockhoundingusa8207 I usually get bored with these videos but you kept it interesting & fun! I too love the Ed Bassmaster clips because he is one of my absolute favorite comedians to rely on when I need a good laugh. I myself am an artifact preserver . I live not too far from the location you mentioned in the video. Although, I'm much much more closer to the border where Illinois, Kentucky, & Missouri meet. Where the Mississippi & Ohio Rivers meet(Confluence). You would really enjoy Towosahgy State Historic Site in Wolf Island, MO. Its a prehistoric ceremonial center with all of the mounds still in tact. The hopewellians and the mississippians were the ones who built the mounds and occupied of the area. You can get out and walk around it's pretty cool. If you drive around the area you'll notice several other mounds that local farmers chose to keep it instead of letting them be destroyed. If you havent checked it out yet you should. I know of 16
different archaeological sites in a 15 mile radius & I got permission on properties in between. 😉😎
