After all the hesitation and conflicting thoughts regarding purchasing this product, I finally pulled the trigger. It was this design you created accompanied by your personality that gave me that extra push to make this investment. Thank you
Great job , Lisa!!! I’ve been watching you for years and your videos get better and better! Very detailed makes a job easier to understand and follow. 👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️
Can you share exactly what wood your getting from Home Depot. I'm so overwhelmed by the options and have heard of people getting the wrong type and the glowforge not cutting through.
I try to do 140 speed and full power. Quarter inch is VERY finicky with your assist fan, so if you're not getting great cuts, you should look into cleaning it.
I’m in LOVE with your positive personality. You’re a brave young lady and aren’t intimidated by a challenge. Thank you again fir your Font information. I’m going to rewatch again, but I thought I heard you say Lowes for your material purchase! I purchased some 1/4” Baltic Birch from there when I first got my GF. I did not have a good experience with that. Then again, I was completely new at lasering. The plywood seems to have to many voids and fillers. I have 3 sheets cut down to GF bed size sitting on a shelf. Did you use 1/4” BB ? Congratulations to your friends! God is GREAT. Oh, I would love to see part of your SMURF VIDEO. Thank you for your time Lisa, you’re doing awesome.
Hey Mark! Yes, I do experience some voids and fillers. It's not as frequent as it used to be, but it does happen sometimes. I use an exacto knife and sand the back of the design to pop it out!
Do you ever mask your plywood before cutting? And if so, does that change your settings? I've been making practice cuts all morning with 1/4" baltic birch plywood, masked on both sides, and I can seem to get an all the way through clean cut...any suggestions?
Yes and I don't see a big enough of a distance. But I see a huge difference when my air assist fan (behind the laser) needs cleaning! When was the last time you cleaned yours?
@@LisaPottsDesigns It's a brand new glowforge...only had it two days. I also have an ac infinity fan attached. I did a few of the practice cuts before trying the 1/4" baltic birch, but that was all. I tried all day today too, and still can't get a good clean consistent cut without major major charring with or without masking. Got frustrated, and went back to some proofgrade material so I could feel accomplished today and it cut beautifully. It's got me baffled, but I really need to get this 1/4" figured out for several projects. Thanks for answering :-)

Glad I could help! You know where I am if you have questions!

Thank you so much!
Thank you for this! I used the tutorial on the knife tool this morning. I learned so much from you lisa, again thank you so much!! ❤️
You're very welcome!
I love your videos 🥳
Thank you! 🥰

I go into the store and get the 1/4 inch sheets of baltic birch plywood. I then very nicely ask them to cut it into 20 in sections!
What did you use as a "filler"? Thank you!
I used the wood filler in a yellow tube, I'm sorry, the brand name has escaped me!
What settings would you use for quarter inch plywood ?

Great job, as always, Lisa! What type of wood did you use for this project?
Thanks, Jonathan! I use 1/4 baltic birch plywood!
@@LisaPottsDesigns is it Home Depot’s 1/4” Columbia Forest birch plywood that’s closer to 0.16” thick?

Thanks for this. I’m glad you talked about pricing. It is another aspect many struggle with.
Glad it was helpful! Pricing is still tricky for me because there's so many different factors like supply, the market and your demographics.

I use a Scroll saw for pieces that big
I would if I had one or the room for one. This is one of those "gotta make it work" videos. 😂
