I lived in Orlando in 2009 when Dwight was the man. There were orlando magic banners with the #12 on every street corner, Dwight Howard CD's at Walmart, Billboards ads with "Please Stay Dwight" written on them. People forget that he was once the second best player in the league after LeBron.
The thing I enjoy about athletes with podcasts is that you get insight into their mentality and why some didn't become stars or reach their max potential.
At 12:00 Nick said ‘that whole working hard is out’… man why do people pay athletes if they don’t even wanna work hard at the game? The money took away all the love
On the real, when I played in high school, I was playing every day whether we had a game or practice or not. I enjoyed it. But when I played on scholarship in college, I lost the love for the game because of pledging and women and only played when I had to just so I could keep my scholarship. A lot of these NBA players don't love the game any more because they have so much money and so many other interests
One thing i dont understand, is the risk of injury is the same every game. You can get injured first game of season or last.. The coaches should be working with Joel on a style of play that doesnt injure him. AD is similar, wants to be a super athletic center. You got bad knees? stop dunking....Stop leaping for blocks, contest with strength and position. Dont try and sprint downcourt from a standing start... IMO Joel needs to learn how to play a slower more fundamental game. He to big for twitch movements like step backs and Euros etc. Look at someone like Jokic.. He jogs up and down the court, camps in his spot, and lets the team orbit round him.
Dwight should have pulled a Shaq and said check my resume compared to yours and told Nick he ain’t even in the space to discuss what’s gonna get them a Chip.
I've never liked a video of this show....until Howard came on. Dude is so smart. Knows even to shout out Gortat. Remember Gortat was a beast, couldn't show it. Howard knew that, which is why he was so dominant. He didn't have to overplay and get hurt, cause he got a grown man on the bench ready to play hard. Well said brother.
How many games are the 76ers winning without bro though? May as well not play until the playins Luka, SGA, Tatum, Brown, Jokic, Brunson all played 70+ games last season.
This makes me appreciate guys like Stockton, Malone and Jordan more as far as basketball. You were almost guaranteed 82 games or close to it. If they missed any time, it was usually a 1 game suspension or maybe missing a game or 2 due to an injury.
@@CahlilWesson no he's not. there's a reason why embiid was a MVP finalist 4 years in a row and dwight was only a finalist just once. prime vs prime, dwight might be a better defender than embiid, but embiid is the better overall player.
@@CahlilWesson nope, he was only a finalist in 2011. Rest of his prime he wasn't higher than top 4. And Embiid is also going up against jokic & giannis consistently.
Remember Dwight Played with Embid in the 2020-2021 season. I can imagine the arguments they had because Dwight probably was brought there to bring out another level of toughness and mentor Embid. I bet Dwight clashed with him in practice because Dwight was coming off winning a championship and still felt he had something to prove and I thought Philly should've resigned Dwight. Embid is soft and he needs to be challenged or traded.
Why is he soft for missing regular season games, he gets no credit for playing through the injuries come playoff time, but miss a couple games in October and you’re soft
I see why Kobe was on Nick like that. Dude is legitimately trying to argue that the face of the franchise missing 20+ games is ok. Then kept comparing the warriors WITH KD winning to the 76ers. The cherry on top is using Kawhi sitting out games and winning a chip as an example like the entire world doesn’t know they get swept if the warriors were healthy. Shit crazy.
Things were different when Dwight played though, centers didn't have to be this versatile and they didn't have to cover nearly as much ground on either side of the ball. Dwight was also incredibly healthy for the first 9 years of his career while Embiid has been dealing with lower body injuries since before he was drafted.
Also, this isn't the year for Philly to win anyway. Their window will open up next year when the Celtics have to make some hard decisions about keeping their core or going over the second apron and paying the luxury tax. This year is about getting healthy and building chemistry.
From an injury management standpoint, taking games off is more impactful for the body than reduced minutes. Nick is right in terms of getting the best out of Embiid. I would also prioritize that over chemistry.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Dwight is the smartest of the bunch.
It’s not hard to believe he’s the most accomplished of them all

@@James-j3w he just played every game in the olympics though, if he couldn't play why not sit out the entire summer to be ready for the actual season??
Honestly embiid was happy winning that mvp and I think he’s honestly ok with his Career no matter what
I lived in Orlando in 2009 when Dwight was the man. There were orlando magic banners with the #12 on every street corner, Dwight Howard CD's at Walmart, Billboards ads with "Please Stay Dwight" written on them. People forget that he was once the second best player in the league after LeBron.
Lmaooooo ayo grill almost started dying @ 1:31 lmaooo omg
And that’s why Swaggy P is sitting on that couch. “Working hard is out”
He should tell that to Dame that just did an intense week workout with David Goggins lol
Ex stars arguing with a role player 😂😂😂😂y’all crazy
Theyre all pros where you hoop?
Nick is actually slow 😂😂
He just doesn't get what Dwight was saying because he was too busy talking and sounding stupid
As a Philly fan… Dwight is completely correct. Idk what these other fools is arguing
So u didn’t heard when he said how you forcing an injury person to play
I guess that’s why he was just a solid player and never great
@@bazil6461what does that have to do about no longer working hard?
On the real, when I played in high school, I was playing every day whether we had a game or practice or not. I enjoyed it. But when I played on scholarship in college, I lost the love for the game because of pledging and women and only played when I had to just so I could keep my scholarship. A lot of these NBA players don't love the game any more because they have so much money and so many other interests
@@sspann11 very true. Too much money to care about the game
Ad damn near gotta leap bro c'mon the Lakers would be more cooked
Embiid didn’t even dunk last year , and his blocks per game have dropped
@@zod548 Bro u are on TH-cam.. Put in ''Embiid 2023-24 highlights'' u will see u are wrong...
@@sc239 his dunks went from 1.12 times a game in 2022-23 ,to 0.49 times a game last year
Yes and no, depends on the injury. But that's what the medical staff is for
Dwight should have pulled a Shaq and said check my resume compared to yours and told Nick he ain’t even in the space to discuss what’s gonna get them a Chip.
6:50 and y’all wonder why ppl say the regular season is a joke 🤦🏾♂️ man, EVERY GAME COUNTS
8 games Whoopie doo 😂😂😂😂 Nick funny af
With Embiid sitting out so many games, the Sixers can’t afford any injuries to be able to compete by season’s end. Not even one rotation player
What Dwight said in the beginning applies to Kawhi too 😂
They should learn from the clippers load management does not work when trying to build chemistry
Well said brother.
lol nick young saying woopie doo, woopie doo. its more like woopdee doo :)
They all zooted lol ❄️
Not my boy Nick 🍀
Not playing back to back games is so damn funny 😂 sad as well..
Not if you're body can't handle it,. Also I'm sure the medical staff has a say in this as well
Cry😂
How many games are the 76ers winning without bro though? May as well not play until the playins
Luka, SGA, Tatum, Brown, Jokic, Brunson all played 70+ games last season.
This makes me appreciate guys like Stockton, Malone and Jordan more as far as basketball. You were almost guaranteed 82 games or close to it. If they missed any time, it was usually a 1 game suspension or maybe missing a game or 2 due to an injury.
Dwight need some water 😂😂
Is Nick high wtf bro, what do you not understand lmao 😂😂😂
Ayooo 10:35 Dwight’s shot moves by itself what is going onnn
Yoooooo! 😂 bruh I thought I was tripping.

I know right.😂
lol
“The number 1 option got something to say”😂😂😂😂
This show is such chaos. Gil never won shit and just talks over everybody like him being louder makes him right.
Dwight Howard in his prime is closer to Jokic than Embiid will ever be in his career.
No he’s not. I like Dwight, but stop glazing.
@@chickenfinger5258He is better than embiid
@@CahlilWesson no he's not. there's a reason why embiid was a MVP finalist 4 years in a row and dwight was only a finalist just once. prime vs prime, dwight might be a better defender than embiid, but embiid is the better overall player.
@@chickenfinger5258 dwight was a finalist in mvp for like the same amount of time, he had to go against lebron of all ppl
@@CahlilWesson nope, he was only a finalist in 2011. Rest of his prime he wasn't higher than top 4. And Embiid is also going up against jokic & giannis consistently.
They spamming that tnt commercial
shutup
Nick telling a big who was at one time arguably the best player in the NBA what’s what is hard to understand.
Nick said whopie Doo @ 6:57😅😅
Everytime Dwight is in a podcast it's always an audition for a spot in the NBA, 😂😂😂
Nick young don’t add nothing to the show. don’t be knowing shit. we see why he was a role player his whole career like damn bruh
I was thinking that too. He fried 😂
How two niggas that never sniffed highschool ball can talk bout how a NBA hooper don’t know shit😂😭
Mannn I was saying the same shit this nigga is a clownnnnn😂
Remember Dwight Played with Embid in the 2020-2021 season. I can imagine the arguments they had because Dwight probably was brought there to bring out another level of toughness and mentor Embid. I bet Dwight clashed with him in practice because Dwight was coming off winning a championship and still felt he had something to prove and I thought Philly should've resigned Dwight. Embid is soft and he needs to be challenged or traded.
And this why the NBA weak now. They don’t respect for vets. 💯💯
Why is he soft for missing regular season games, he gets no credit for playing through the injuries come playoff time, but miss a couple games in October and you’re soft
I wish the Knicks would pick up Dwight.
Preachin'
B Jennings just over there geeking out 😂😂
I see why Kobe was on Nick like that. Shit crazy.
Dwight keep feeling on the skeleton next to him. 😂😂😂
Stop 🛑
Things were different when Dwight played though, centers didn't have to be this versatile and they didn't have to cover nearly as much ground on either side of the ball. Dwight was also incredibly healthy for the first 9 years of his career while Embiid has been dealing with lower body injuries since before he was drafted.
Also, this isn't the year for Philly to win anyway. Their window will open up next year when the Celtics have to make some hard decisions about keeping their core or going over the second apron and paying the luxury tax. This year is about getting healthy and building chemistry.
Hard to build chemistry when 2 of your best players are hurt all the time.
what, Dwight was in the league like three years ago, wtf u talking about. This statement you made aint even true wtf
He won a ring in 2020 stfu 🤣
@@Thraxxktmfs just be saying anything don’t know nun 🤣
Nick never grow up Young is a airhead 😂
From an injury management standpoint, taking games off is more impactful for the body than reduced minutes. Nick is right in terms of getting the best out of Embiid. I would also prioritize that over chemistry.
He got a gold medal for sitting on the bench, I think it’s in his head that he can win without playing basketball.
