Actually the Wizards didn’t take their time developing Kwame. Plus look who drafted him no.1 overall and it also didn’t help that Kwame didn’t go to college either.
I’m going to suggest this because like many people who listen to this podcast, we listen to Kwame Brown’s bus life as well Kwame Brown has a lot of accountability too. Not to rain on what Gilbert is saying and what Greg Oden is saying. I think Kwame has had growth of understanding the politics of the sport and a lot of what he talks about is definitely about the politics of the sport. Gilbert technically avoids a lot of the politics. Under Armour sponsorships tend to soften one’s views on that. Not as much as ESPN, but very similar Kwame Brown has some deep particular insights that are key critical on not only the game of basketball but the general politics around basketball that shouldn’t be discounted. What most people tend to do is to dredge up those histories of a person to discount the validity of their argument by claiming he’s not accountable for what he went through. Is dismissive of a lot of the points he’s making about the politics of the game of basketball, the politics throughout media and the personalities that are frankly talking trash. Ultimately, it’s just someone else’s opinion and those of us who consume it, ultimately shrug our shoulders and go on with our day. Whatever everyone thinks about either side, it doesn’t make us one way or the other. But these arguments are a bit comical because Gilbert can barely mention Kwame‘s name. For someone who grew up watching the NBA of the 60s and 70s and is less than impressed with the marketing job of the 80s and 90s as being the best basketball ever, I can see the point that brown is talking about in terms of how the myth of these Celebrity athletes cover up them really being messed up people. Jordan wasn’t a good person. Neither was Kobe. I can recognize their talent without worshiping them as a fan. Whatever Kwame Brown’s talent was, he lasted long enough because of that talent. I can separate the develop points of personal growth that are different than the opinions about his career. If any of the people on this podcast, could sit down and listen to him and research, you are hearing a person who’s at peace with his life. Yes, he talks about BS and isn’t shy about it. But he’s not deflecting blame. Those are old podcast that told his story. He’s far more observant about what’s happening now . He’s not wallowing in his story. He’s calling out political BS in the sports and in sports media that created the narrative about his life and career in the first place.

@@nbajay4828 notice the keywords “Rashad is a real one for realizing ‘THIS’” with the word this being the keyword, Pat Bev still made him quit, he weak for quitting, that don’t take away from him making a valid point

MY dog McCants Got on his own JErsey .. i aint even mad at that
This the realest conversation yall have had.
This is what we need cool conversations and man up and be honest
You see how Gil tried to give Rashad an out but he didn’t take it? “It was injury”…” no it was me” that my biggest problem with some ex players all their problems was everybody else fault ..Rn Dwight Howard on a podcast tour tryna rewrite his history by blaming everybody else for his downfall ..shoutout to Mccants for taking accountability
You can see why mccants only last a few years in the league. The juice was not worth the squeeze. It must be a nightmare dealing with his attitude day in day out on the teams he played for.
That comment was so off base from this conversation. That was trash. McCants has manned up in many ways. Listen

Kwame vs gil in boxing match, set that up

Thank you Rashad!
@6:17 Greg like nah don’t out me in that category 😂😭😭😭😭
Great conversation that is relatable to any person! Also much respect for McCants owning up to his mistakes of his career!
I actually agree with both. Truthfully, it takes both! It’s not a one or the other thing.
To move forward you have to embrace what was/ is stopping you. If not, you will be in the same exact place!
Both negative and positive helps but it only hurts bc you bare personal regret!
McCants got that sunroof at the top 💀I can see past dat crown 👑
Imagine Gilberto telling someone to grow up smh 🤦🏿♂️
Gil would’ve had such a great career if he was able to grow himself. You’re right, he’s hypocritical
He grew up, he knows how much of a knucklehead he was so he knows it's not impossible. People can change and Gil clearly wants that for Kwame.
@@Eat_A_Dork Gilberto is just mad that kwame criticized bronny smh 🤦🏿♂️ this guy acts like he’s apart of the James family 😂😂

Well how come you can't accept 22 years of greatness of LeBron . 6:46
Saying someone is the 3rd best player of all time and the nba been around for 75+….. that’s like u getting offended for someone saying ur the 3rd richest person they know 😂
@@Sinofariesaccurate 💯
Wow Rashad showed a level of growth I didn’t know he had, I’m happy to see him accept his own faults. Many a man die old still thinking it’s others
Why because he's not telling the truth about LeBron
Gilbert you can't compare your gun situation to Kwame being abused by kobe an Jordan, they both would've destroyed you foe having a gun
This is a sissy era and we all know your boy LeBron would've melted way worse than Kwame if they had Jordan an kobe on them
Imagine LeBron not playing defense in the 90s, he would be a bench player.
Yall kept picking on kwame for years and he didn’t say a word. But when he responds. He doesn’t have to be accountable to anyone he did what he did the end.
Picking on him? He didn’t suffer anymore scrutiny than any other player picked first on the draft. He was a bust.
KB just soft .. says he a man but allows other men to pick on him smh
@@deadflies4265 the point is Gilbert wouldn’t say none of that shit to KB face 😂 dude is living in the 2000’s get over it we all know brown wasn’t good in the league for a #1 pick get over it shit was 20 years ago

Theoretically, I understand where McCants is TRYING to come from. However, it’s truly an out for just not applying yourself to the level you actually had to be on, to be great. Outside of injuries, and a dominating physical gift, or a skill; there’s still a difference between that, and someone who never even produced tape and/or numbers, to say that they “put in work”. 8:56
Kwame on live right now roasting Gil and Bronny lol
He a clown 🤡 they gone be hating on Lebron grandkids
Cap. You acting like a female
Roasting what? LeBron Jr is better than kwame ever was😅
And your here watching

McCants can be considered a bust. That's why he has so much empathy for Kwame. Lol... mans emotionally tied up

Kwame was the first high school player to go #1 overall in NBA draft.

You right,LeBron average 30 points a game every time he played against Rashad McCants😂
In the last time they played Rashad McCants only have five points and only played under 12 minutes. #Google
realest convo theyve ever had on this podcast.
At the end of the day Kwame played 13 years and Gil didn’t not every #1 pick turns out to be a superstar he made money and took care of his family if that was good enough for him it’s good enough for me
You missed everything Gil said. He didnt work hard and improve itself. It showed on the court
That's fine. And we can still talk crap about him being a bum.
Yeah but he was cheeks though💯Kendrick Perkins ain’t supposed to get drafted number 1😭
Gil played 12 years buddy
2001-2013
Actually the Wizards didn’t take their time developing Kwame. Plus look who drafted him no.1 overall and it also didn’t help that Kwame didn’t go to college either.
A cuck response with no bases of understanding the business of basketball. Kwame didn’t need college. College needed him.
HE GOT PAID AND PLAYED 13 YEARS....AVERAGE AGE FOR NBA IS 2.5 YEARS HE PLAYED A DECADE
That’s BS. Gill was on the wizards and became an all star and wasn’t even drafted nearly as high as Kwame. Kwame was a bust. A lazy bust.

@ yes💔💔
This was a very nuanced convo
Great conversation fellas
I’m going to suggest this because like many people who listen to this podcast, we listen to Kwame Brown’s bus life as well
Kwame Brown has a lot of accountability too.
Not as much as ESPN, but very similar
Kwame Brown has some deep particular insights that are key critical on not only the game of basketball but the general politics around basketball that shouldn’t be discounted.
Damn good explanation
Pretty much!!!
