  • Today I replaced the headlight bulb connectors/harnesses on my '95 Ford Ranger. This same process should apply to many makes and models as well as other wiring connectors. In this video, I explained how to replace the connectors by soldering and by using crimp (butt) connectors.

    Hey man just wanted to say thanks for this simple and helpful video. I needed my headlight bulb connector changed and I called a couple mechanics and they told me they were weeks out plus it was going to cost over $100 at least to fix. So I looked up videos and found yours. Bought the part for $20. Took my time, and 40 mins later it was fixed and works! Saved me a ton of hassle and time and money. I also know a new skill now. Thanks!

    I really appreciate how you did the passenger side a more shop professional way, then the driver side more amateur but very good diy.

    On our 2003 Chevy Cavalier the burned socket has 3 wires: Black in the middle, Red and Green (Green is burned) on the sides. A new socket (exactly same as in this film) I bought has 3 wires - all Black. Does it matter which one goes on Red which one on Green, if I connect central Black wires together? Thank you for so useful and informative film.

      Did you find the solution? On our 2003 Chevy Cavalier the burned socket has 3 wires: Black in the middle, Red and Green (Green is burned) on the sides. A new socket (exactly same as in this film) I bought has 3 wires - all Black. I have a question, if it matters which one goes on Red which one on Green, if I connect central Black wires together. But from you post follows that it won't work correctly either way. Did you use same blue socket?

    Couldn't u just buy new harness and plug it in both ends and done??

    • @PaulWeezy50
      @PaulWeezy50 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Then you'll have to disconnect all of the bulbs instead of just the bulbs affected. Some ppl don't want the hassle

      @@PaulWeezy50 Seems a ton shorter work and hassle than this lol

      @@roberthaizlip4057 Lol. It SEEMS. But it's the same process of removing the bulb, but now you have to remove ALL the bulbs and run the wiring back through without catching and tangling. I assure you a quick splice isn't as long. Lol. He went slower because he was demonstrating.

      @@PaulWeezy50 Not much to really tangle on and there's only 4 bulbs to unplug click, click , click click done....ur not "removing" bulbs just simply unplugging them lol

    • @PaulWeezy50
      @PaulWeezy50 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @roberthaizlip4057 Clearly you haven't done it on this model. Lol. I have. You have to go through individual compartments and run the wires through. I didn't say it was extremely hard, but it's definitely more tedious and time consuming. Also, You still have to "remove" the bulbs if you're installing new wiring. Unless you plan on replacing perfectly good bulbs. 😂
