Hi I came across you video last night as my Vectra headlight holder block got cracked and when I replaced the bulb (not good) it's showing on my dash as bulb blown I think it's because it has no plastic casing on one side I've purchased two new wires with blocks same as your it has one red and one black the original wiring on car has 3 black wires like your video showed what I'm asking if possible what two wires that goes to one side of the block connects to which wire of the new set if you could help it would be much appreciated 👍

Colours don't matter. 3 wires, but 2 connections. Just connect the two wires of the new socket to the two connectors/ three wires. Colours don't matter.

Use solder sticks so much easier and cheap

Not the best idea. But still works fine.

Do I need to disconnect the battery to do this , or will it be fine as long as it's turned off and the keys aren't in the ignition?

Lights switched off. If the switch is on and you make a short , fuse will need to be replaced

Hello, i got a toyota avensis. The same happend to me with the socket, it was burnt and looked alot like yours. I tried fixing it today, but i did not solder i used splicing sleeve. When i turned the car on, the light was working. But i got SO HOT and were glowing like crazy(not like the same one on the other side), and it started coming smoke from the bulb.... I shut the car off and took them off.... Do you think i connected the 2 wires from the new socket to the old ones from the car wrong? could that be it? or is it something else wrong? Hoping for answer, Thank you!

I even prefer crimped connection. Don't know what happened on your one. Strange

Doesn't matter. Both ways will work. Halogen bulbs don't care of the polarity.

I didn't do exactly as you did in the video. I took the wires from the connector and the wires from the headlight and just tied them together and then wrapped them with tape. However, nothing happens, my high beam still doesn't work. I don't know that is the problem in mass?
