Thanks for honoring VA147, the first echo birds were delivered to us summer 69. Many of us were trained at the LTV factory in Texas, and in the fall we deployed for carrier trials on the USS America in the Caribbean joining the ship at Guantanamo Bay. Our first deployment for a west Pac starting in Virginia and sailing around to South China Sea and to our deployment to Yankee Station off the coast of Vietnam.
