    This is - hands down, the best A1 vs A7R5 comparison video ever. Thank you 🙏🏼

    I own both cameras and the a1 is superb! When it comes to speed but imo it’s abit wild or too fast when it comes with sports ! But yet I find the auoto focus is more sticky for subjects and the speed is not fastest but it’ is enough for sports !! I sold my a1 and kept my a7rv very happy with my Decision!

      does a1 overheats when filming ? and about the a7r v , does it overheat? i want a hybrid camera and was thinking between the a7r v and a1

    Just picked up the R V and heading to Japan next week! so excited. I have the R IV still but couldn't resist upgrading lol.

    I just purchased the A1 and I also own the A7Rv. The A7RV is good for landscapes or animals that don't move fast, the A1 is great for everything, I like to photograph birds in flight and the A7RV just isn't fast enough. Im waiting to see what the A1ii has to offer, I might trade both my A1 and A7RV in on it. The reason I didn't wait for the A1ii, is I would have missed out on some incredibles shots while waiting.

      I’m not sure about the overheating. I don’t do video with either camera. Both are great cameras, and I would ask someone at your local camera shop or someone at B and H. As far as photography goes, I haven’t had an overheating issue with either one.

    Friendly FYI - Panasonic S1H had the same flippy/tilty back screen years before Sony a7RV.
    My only beef with the A1, besides Sony general lack of firmware support, is that the video is really amazing, but it overheats too easily in any kind of long form setting. Besides those two things, I loved my time with the A1. One of the best cameras I’ve ever owned.

    • @wbr1289

      Yes. Indeed. Tilt Up only and flip out screen. Almost like Sony A7rV multi directional screen.

    Sad to say I bought an a7r5 to fill in missing capabilities from the a1. Especially focus bracketing. That should have been a firmware update for the a1. Not a whole new camera purchase.

    I have the A7RV & the A9 III and feel like I have all my needs covered until Sony releases the A1 II. Friends tried to convince me to get the A1 but at $6500 for a a 3 year old camera it seemed ludicrous. I love the new form factor and the AI AF of the newer cameras.

  • @Fotogoscar
    @Fotogoscar ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Currently on a7riii and use it mostly for landscape, Astro and some wildlife/fast action. I get very low success ratio capturing BIF. Now that the a1 is in the $4500 range even cheaper with trading my a7riii, very tempting.

  • @AlbertoAcero

    Do you think we will have to wait for de A1 mark II to have most of the functions that Sony could deliver via firmware updates?? (Focus breathing compensation, focus stacking, bird eye focus on video) - I bought their flagship camera and now all the less expensive cameras have better capabilities that can be delivered via firmware updates to premium customers (A1 customers)

    • @seanvelasco-dodge
      @seanvelasco-dodge ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's all but confirmed that the A1 is going to receive a massive software update before the end of this year. Should include most if not all of the new features from the most recent cameras. It has the processing power to do so, so it would be a huge mistake if they don't implement these updates to their flagship. A mark II isn't slated for a while so it seems like this firmware update is designed to keep the A1 as their true flagship for the forseeable future

    Hope you’re well Ed.. i’ m interested to see how the a9 III is when it’s eventually released.. I’d consider selling my a1 for the a9 III if they give it some decent video features (and I think it will considering the AP uses Sony now), but I do love my a1.. cheers my man and I look forward to next week and the release of the a6700

    The A1 will be three years old in two months. A7R V has the identical ISO (100-32,000), the A7R V has the new AI deep learning that allows it to recognise more subjects than the A1. The A7R V cant match the video specifications or shooting speeds of the A1, however, the A7R V is outperforming in many other ways including higher resolution. Unlike the A1, you wont need to sift through 100's of images to find a few that work, the A7R V with its enhanded autofocus will produce more keepers...

      Yet when I need to truly nail a photo, I always use the A1. The R V is great and the pics are beautiful. But for me it's not worth the Risk to miss the shot. I'm getting 98% hit rates on the a1 at 30 frames

      Like previous comment I get 98 percent keeper rate with the A1. Most the feature differences you mention make no difference to working commercial photographers. RV which I own also has the better screen but nothing else that’s better in real working shoots.

    Cheers man. Just wondering. Once the new 6700 will be out, are you gonna test it? I would really like to see a comparison to the a7RV in crop mode (Please just ignore the price for a mom). On crop atm (ZVE10), since im usually using fixed focal lenses, tempted by 60MP for cropping 🙂Still would often shoot just crop mode... same goes for video, i really pref crop mode (even on the a7IV I´ve been shooting awhile) ... Thanks!

    • @TheDigitalDigest
      @TheDigitalDigest  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will be reviewing it! I think aps-c still has immense promise. If you have been well served by the e10, the 6700 should be a huge upgrade. Thanks for watching as usual!

    I have the A7R IV and for portraits there are A LOT of shots that missed focus even though I used eye-focus, was sitting still and even the model was still. It focuses on the eye lashes or something. Is this fixed in the mark V? I would say sometimes 50% of the images are not usable, and I have tried everything, turning off e-shutter etc.
    Also get motion blur, even on tripod with decent shutterspeeds, tested with and without stabilization on.

    • @freestonedoug
      @freestonedoug 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the rv eye auto focus is exceptional, even in video. It makes my 7iv feel inadequate now for weddings- as it’s always missing eyes.

      Any subject that moves veey fast towards the camera or away, A1 will not only beat A7RV but also crush it. If movement is lateral across the camera, both cameras will excel. The AI chip does not compensate for fast readout and calculation. While one camera guesses, the other flat out follows and tracks.

      @@major-Mihailo-Madzarevic i use both cameras. What subjects do you shoot? What distances and what lenses? For birds in flight, running dogs & sports photos with 70-200 GM II / 135mm GM or 50mm 1.2 (I shoot wide open) there is no contest. Not only do I get a higher percentage of in focus photos but also since it's faster I can get more photos to pick that decisive moment. If you are shooting portraits or othet relatively stationary subject matter, any camera in the last 20 years is going to perform anyway.

    I have the a7rv and I love it. I also have the a9, and l love it's speed. My a7r5 has been a great help for me shooting amazing landscapes, I love the megapixels for that!!!! I have shot birds in flight at 10fps and it is amazing. I am amazed that I can crop in and get more reach on the 200-600 lens and still have 26 megapixels to play with!!! I though about the a1 but it did not have a flip screen! If I want more speed I just use the a9. I always the two body with me and 4 lens. (16-35, 24, 90, 70-300mm)👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Do wish it had the no-blackout viewfinder but understand why not. That's really the only thing I miss. I had a A9 and it was my favorite feature on that camera.
