a7iv seems perfect for me. A7RV has too much resolution, and i've gotten good enough to not need cropping in most of the times. Coming from A77II (and still using it)
The Sony A7R V is perfect, even though I'm not a pro or creator. I'm just a visual quality enthusiast who enjoys the slight differences. Price doesn't matter when I print memories for family and friends.
I had the same experience regarding lowlight photography. It is my main field of photography. Theatre/dance and musicphotograpy often in poor lit rehearsal rooms. I use the Sony A74 for two years now and very satisfied with its very-lowlight performance. I could try the Sony A7R5 for a couple of days and it is indeed a very nice camera in daylight. But in very lowlight situations it is noisy with a greenish colorcast and above all the autofocus is bad. In focusing and the speed of focussing. Sometimes it did not autofocus at all while my SonyA74 focussed precise and very fast in those circumstances. Waiting for a Sony camera with good AI autofocus in poor lighting conditions.
As a longtime professional photojournalist , after 40+ years using the best pro gear from Nikon, Canon, Leica, I moved over to Sony mirrorless back in January 2017. I have owned and used for photographing all subjects around the world in stills and video, the A6500, A7RII, A7RIII, A7III, A9, A7RIV and currently the A7RV, A1, A7SIII. I just took advantage of Sony $400 USD rebate and Sony $500 USD trade-in bonus to get $900 off the price of a new A7RV, plus what I got for trading in my A7RIV, so it was the perfect time to upgrade at least cost. The advancements of the A7RV are very compelling, and after shooting with my 50mp A1, and my 61mp A7RIV, I would not be willing to lose that ultimate resolution and detail that I love, by dropping down to the excellent 33mp A7IV. I do try where I can. I have the Panasonic S5iix (I did the S5ii) and I’ve done some of the canons and nikon z30 and some Fuji. I do want to do more, but it’s hard to review everything and some of the other camera companies aren’t as easy to talk to as Sony - so I’m limited at times. I actually own most of the Sony’s I review - so that makes it easier too 🤣
Simple video comparison: 24/25P: R5 amazing 8k but rolling shutter, weaker full frame 4k (binned), a7IV better 4k 24/25 full frame (oversampled 7k), R5 better at S35 4K 60p: r5 less crop 1.2 a7iv more crop 1.5 but sharper
I don't know what to buy for astrophotography and landscapes, I read that the a7iv is better in low light, lower ISO, and the 7 R IV eats stars, but more Megapixels will be better for landscapes, and I actually don't know which one to choose
there's a lot more bang for buck with the fx30 and it's a very easy to use camera. The a7rv is great, but there are better cameras for the price for video only like the FX3 (unless you need 8K)
Just picked up the A7IV for 2299 with a 300$ rebate couldn't justify the price increase to the V. Excited to have a real camera, coming from an old Canon M50 mark II haha
Hi, I have the Sony A7RV. When I use the sensor cleaning function (dust) and run the command, the sensor does not vibrate like in the Sony A7IV, but remains still and only a slight tick tick is heard. People told me that it is normal of this sensor do not vibrate why Sony A7RV uses new generation ultrasound. This is true ?
I had the Sony A7S III and got the Sony A7 RV now as I wanted a camera that will do both Video & Photos, I thought about the A7 IV but I got swayed by the 61 megapixel which I am sure I don't need LOL. Since most of my work is Podcasting not sure if I made a mistake being that video is the majority of my work. I thought about keeping my SIII as well as the A7RV but thought it may be a bit much.
Is the 1080 on A7RV at least as good as A7iV? I want to do slow motion wildlife video plus photos. I crop heavily, so the extra megapixels is attractive.
The iso part is a mess. I don't think there is any difference in iso up to 6400 or even 12000. Already if you use 32,000 iso, that image or video can be thrown away. You can't do anything with it, except film the dog in the yard at night and keep it for yourself. But as long as it's quality, somewhere up to 6400 there is no difference. Better AF and 61 MP, that's what matters.
Which camera's image quality is better in all conditions? most of the time I shoot in natural light, even some low light, of course I work mostly during the day. Sometimes I also make short clips and commercials. Which camera do you think is better for me?? Are the image details very different between these two cameras??
you won’t notice much difference in everyday shooting image quality between the two. athe A7RV is a better camera for those who need high megapixels and 8K. But the A7IV will likely do everything you want at a much better price
if someone is paying you - A7iv so you can have two card slots. Also, the A7iv is a bit better for photos. if it’s more video and for personal use - a7cii
You’re right, the a7rv does have focus bracketing, and I should have had it in the vid. You still have to stack the photos in post, but it’s nice that you do have to change the focus point yourself

If i really had the extra cash, i would go with the a7rv, but for now i’m really loving the a7iv
Best cámaras in the world
If I had to chose between the two I'd go A74
Love the channel and I get its mostly sony based. It would be cool if you reviewed other camera systems as well.
I actually own most of the Sony’s I review - so that makes it easier too 🤣
Simple video comparison:
24/25P: R5 amazing 8k but rolling shutter, weaker full frame 4k (binned), a7IV better 4k 24/25 full frame (oversampled 7k), R5 better at S35 4K
60p: r5 less crop 1.2 a7iv more crop 1.5 but sharper
You think the a7iv is better for video in 4K?
What about DR?
I don't know what to buy for astrophotography and landscapes, I read that the a7iv is better in low light, lower ISO, and the 7 R IV eats stars, but more Megapixels will be better for landscapes, and I actually don't know which one to choose
it’s a tough call for sure. Going into crop mode and still having 26 megapixels is great with the A7RV, but the A7iv is such a great value.
Thanks again for an amazing comparison! Can we please have a comparison with fx30 and A7r5 if not which one would u prefer the best for videos
there's a lot more bang for buck with the fx30 and it's a very easy to use camera. The a7rv is great, but there are better cameras for the price for video only like the FX3 (unless you need 8K)
Just picked up the A7IV for 2299 with a 300$ rebate couldn't justify the price increase to the V. Excited to have a real camera, coming from an old Canon M50 mark II haha
you’re going to love it!!
A7RV Still does amazing video. Sounds like you made the right choice for your situation.
Both these camera's are excellent coming from the Sony Camp
Is the 1080 on A7RV at least as good as A7iV? I want to do slow motion wildlife video plus photos. I crop heavily, so the extra megapixels is attractive.
I didnt get about 4k video in 60 p , which camera is better ?
thank very much
I’m wondering would it still work if i would get the tamron 17-70 which is for apsc cameras but I’ll use it on the a7iv but without the crop mode
Can somebody please explain to me why the a7iv has better low light then the R V. I don’t understand how that can be.
I’m going to guess it’s because of the lower resolution chip - take in more light due to less pixels
Agreed 👌

Which camera's image quality is better in all conditions?
most of the time I shoot in natural light, even some low light, of course I work mostly during the day. Sometimes I also make short clips and commercials. Which camera do you think is better for me??
Are the image details very different between these two cameras??
you won’t notice much difference in everyday shooting image quality between the two. athe A7RV is a better camera for those who need high megapixels and 8K. But the A7IV will likely do everything you want at a much better price
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis 🙏🙏🌹
Lemme wait for the a7v 🥲🥲🥲
Los mejores enfoques
am i seeing things? does a7rv has a wider field of view
Can you please do a video about the SEL16F28 (vs Sigma 16 F1.4)🙏
I have both of these cameras. THE A7IV is.for the wife. I did notice that in really low light (nighttime) the A7IV was better.
Yes, I agree, but not a massive difference 😊
I WENT FROM A7R4 TO A7R5. A7R5 IS A BEAST
it really is
Which would you say is better for video - Obviously the R5 is best for its photos & features. But for video...?
@@michaelfrymus THE A7R5
What to buy : a7cii or a74?)
if someone is paying you - A7iv so you can have two card slots. Also, the A7iv is a bit better for photos. if it’s more video and for personal use - a7cii
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I need for photos and video, a7rv cool , but 4k not good. I will go to a7cii, is better choose ?)
I don't think you mentioned the focus stacking feature on the a7rV? Unless I missed it? 😊
You’re right, the a7rv does have focus bracketing, and I should have had it in the vid. You still have to stack the photos in post, but it’s nice that you do have to change the focus point yourself
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis the video is excellent, I have both camera bodies and fully agree with your appraisal of them 👌 Just that I have used the focus bracketing and it works really well, I use use free software called Picolay for stacking in post. Thanks for your videos. 👍
Hi sir sony a7 S4 ka review ka video
Your head is so red! Leeming lut issue?
Sunburn issue 🤣
Are you using Adobe Podcast AI for these videos?
I am not. Just Final Cut
A7V omg.
late night!! 🤣
The fact that these camera's need to be compared shows how good the A7RV is. The A7RV is a hybrid camera that leans HEAVILY towards the photography side. It is not designed to beat the A7IV in video, but you can see it holding its own here pretty well. Put the camera's side by side on a photography heavy review and you'll start to see how much better the RV is. Better in low light, better IBIS (its insanely good), much better cropping power, ridiculous resolution, incredible colors out of a Sony finally.

Good evening sir My Budget is 2.10 Lacks INR sir And the Matter is Here I have a Chance One Sony a 7R5 at 2.20 with Shutter Count 30k These camera Has 6 Months Old sir Shall I Proceed to buy these or Can I Go For New Sony a 7 M4 sir ..?

Both good options, but if the A7R5 is in good condition - I would get that especially if you do more photography than video.

Muy bien
1:24 the difference between 4k and 8k just very slight or even indistinguishable.... lol
Sad of the 4K on the A7R V...
I'm actually surprised the A7RV falls apart after 32,000 ISO.
Keep it up mark! Idea for you: comparing the new off brand cf express card options vs sony
👍
Sony A7lV
Good
A7iv actually better
Como
this video is good but has no point. TH-cam compression destroyed everything. 4k and 1080 look the same even on 4k IPS monitor
Didn’t realize the A7V was out! Haha
😂😂 I need a spell checker
i have exact same shirt.
gimme back my shirt
Do u know hindi?
Unfortunately I do not
Sony A7V? They need to slow down their releases.
haha. I’m such a dummy

To think sony went fast making the a7v
🤣🤣🤣 always check your work

Sony A74 vs Sony A7R5🤭
ha - right??
Not even interested in either but I can’t not watch that mug in action.
Best type of person
Someone got his hairs cut.
most of them
They look like they're the same camera. lol.
Ha - they do look very similar
Yes, they do, I have both but when you pick up the R5, the EVF is amazing. The flippy screen and the amazing sticky focus and "crop-ability" set them apart. A7IV is still great though. I was lucky to get a brilliant trade-in for my old A7C. 👌
Thumbs down for clickbait
