Praying for you friend, God knows right where you are and what you need. He gives his grace freely and is overflowing in abundant grace. His mercy truly endures forever. Always remember when we look for God, it's a response to him first looking for us like the lost sheep. Remember it was He who called out to Adam in the garden, "where are you?" And he is calling you today to seek for his grace and you are responding by seeking and asking for it. Continue seeking and desiring as if your life depended on it (because it does) and He will give you what you need when you need it. Forgive any theological errors that I may commit in brevity or as a result of joyful sentiment but I hope you are encouraged
Please pray for me. My best friend of 14 years just virtually ended our friendship. He said he doesnt want to talk about religion anymore and that’s been the basis of our friendship for ages. He’s a protestant and when I converted last year it was hard on our friendship but he thought he could get through to me. It’s been a friendly debate for the last year in which ive dominated each exchange. What started as him trying to save me from the cult has turned into a realization that he can’t follow the bible and maintain his theology. So he’s chosen to ignore scripture and it’s made him hate reading it and discussing it with me now. He’s obviously in sore loser mode but i just dont know what to do about it besides pray. I’ve never once tried to get him to leave his church, nor have i used any offensive apologetics meaning im only defending our church not attacking his. It’s sad and i could really use some prayers. His name is Justin.
A great book you can recommend is surprised by truth by Patrick Madrid, 10 different conversion stories but covers most the standard objections to Catholicism. And for more deep philosophy “fundamentals of the faith” by Peter kreeft. For the Eucharist “Jesus and the Jewish roots of the Eucharist” by brant pitre.
@@johnbrion4565 I wish…. I just think he’s not interested in what we believe. I had a chat with him last night for a while and he just doesnt care about apologetics. He’s fine if i send him a video of a monk saying 3 ways to remove negative thoughts but if i send him one explaining how catholics arrived at the canon he’ll lose it. So i’m just sticking to clergymen at this point with him. If the name says father or bishop in front of it, he’ll listen. I think he’s had enough of getting his butt whipped in debates. Everyone told him catholics dont know or follow scripture but it’s obvious that he’s getting clobbered when i just go to scripture and the last thing he wants to know is how or why the church believes what it does about scripture. The good news is last night, he admitted to me that Catholics are undeniably christian, that he’s just trying to follow the bible and feels our traditions are all just extra and unnecessary. I’ll take it! At least he’s not trying to pry me out of the “cult” anymore.

Now in my 60's and after tragedy struck, I've returned to the Catholic. Thank God Mama raised me Catholic!! Years of addictions that I couldn't shake have finally been broken. I tried everything to get the monkey off my back but the Rosary is what finally delivered me. I am also a researcher and never thought about the Catholic vs protestant controversy. I started studying Holy Scripture and reading about Church history and this shed light on the Catholic faith but also shed light on how the protestant reformation has screwed up our societies far more than the "elites", communism, fascism and the rest of the "isms". When guys like Martin Luther and Calvin came along and said that one is saved by faith alone, Christian charity tanked which doesn't say much about the "Christians" those guys attracted. However, the needy and destitute didn't disappear and eventually the state had to step up. Get it. The birth of welfare and socialism can be directly associated with the reformation. When Catholic Spain's king tried to keep up with his other European counter parts by instituting state welfare programs, it caused riots in the streets. The average blue collar saw this as state interference in religious affairs because the tenets of the Catholic faith is faith, hope and charity. This one example of fruits of protestants. Then the myriad of heresies that are taught from protestant pulpits are leading many right straight to hell.
The US is majority Protestant and is by far the most charitable country there is. Mississippi is hugely Protestant and one of the poorest States yet is at the top among the 50 for charitable giving much of the time.
@jazz... I share your observations on the extent of the damage and evil unleashed by Luther and his rebellion. In a mere 500yrs, his lies have succeeded in attracting 1.2billion souls and then dicing them into 40,000 denominations effectively keeping these souls from the one true Church of Christ. And the vast majority of these denominations are anti-Catholic and seek to destroy the body of Christ by tearing out Catholics who are ignorant of the fullness of truth and richness of their faith.
I asked my priest at my local trad mass parish. He described it like this... the Church is a giant Arc (like noah's) and its heading to shore, the storms are getting worse and worse, protestant sects with real faith are like dingies tied off to the side... Jump on ship and gain the full support of all of the sacramental gifts Christ gave us.

The Holy Church teaches us that Christianity is not a “religion of the scriptures”. But of the Word. Jesus preached not with notes or verses but through his Word. He is indeed the Word through whom all things were made (Book of Genesis). He is indeed the word become man and who lived among us, full of grace and truth (Gospel of John). Jesus is indeed the word of God and not “the scriptures of God”.
This comment is crazy : "We do not know God, not even Jesus Christ"! Meanwhile Jesus himself tells us: “Whoever has seen me has seen God. Who knows me, knows God”. This is why we must learn a little more every day about Jesus-Christ. How ? by reading the Gospel, by praying to God, by going to the sacraments and by putting the Gospel into practice in our ordinary lives. And by practicing, Faith, Hope and Charity. But the most important is indeed the Charity (Saint Paul).
Wrong adjective sir/ma’am. I would suggest you do some serious study of the church. Don’t just read anti-Catholic propaganda but also read what the Catholic Church teaches and seriously research and contemplate the evidence. It took me 20 years of research both evidence for and against the church before I made any decision to join. Have a blessed day and I pray you have a fruitful and joyous life.

kind of. But I think he also implicitly says that a Lutheran is not in communion with the body of Christ, while a Muslim definitely isnʼt
Basically, everything that protestants teach correctly about salvation, they got from the catholic church. 😊

Right from scripture. Nobody can be saved unless it's by the church. And all these years I thought it was the blood of Jesus.

Can you give me any Biblical proof of your false witness?
Exodus 20:16
We believe its through Christ as well. That's why we do what Christ told us to do with the Eucharist, Confession, baptism Etc.
