16:28 there is a battle in this OT histories where a king catches a glimpse of an invisible army. I don’t remember more than that off the cuff >.< pretty certain it involves Elijah, but not 100%.
Hi bless your work catholic answers (: Can I ask a good book 1st is for the history of the Catholic Bible and second is the History of the catholic church from the time of Ascension of Jesus until today (: hopefully with the splits and reformations (: Godbless us all (:
The look on Jimmy Akin's face as he realized where the succubus caller was going was one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile. As soon as the guy said he had an experience, I immediately saw where it was going and went back to the screen to see Jimmy Akin's face as he tried to quickly shut it down 😂
17:16 or if you are an anime fan, you can see angels vs demons as what goes on in Dragon Ball or if you are into superhero works, you can see it as a Superman vs Darkseid type battle.
For information on the history of the Bible I recommend: The Bible is a Catholic Book, by Jimmy Akin. Regarding church history, I recommend anything written by Rod Bennett.
I came to Catholicism from a Fundamentalist background. Church services were combo sermons/Bible studies. I miss that. While I know the basic 66 books fairly well, my knowledge of the Apocrypha is virtually nil. I am not having much success finding a chapter by chapter, verse by verse Bible Study of these 7 Books. Does such a guide exist? It is not particularly helpful to just hear or read something you know nothing about and have been told was evil most of your life. Can you recommend some good study tools, please?
At the 41-minute mark, does anyone know the cannon law number jimmy is talking about. My wife is baptised but wasn't Catholic when we were married. I was baptised Catholic, but we got married without a dispensation as I had left the church. Is our marriage invalid or just ilicit. Should we refrain from the marital act. My preist said that everything is okay and that we should just get the marriage validated. Is he wromg?
There seems to be some contention eith some of these issues of doctrine and dogma. Perhaps we are on the midst of another schism or update to the catechism. I have this same issue and have received a different answer from everyone I've asked.
I have a question. Catholics say Jesus is God, right? Well, if that's true, how do you explain John 7:16, where Jesus said: "What I teach is not my own teaching, but it comes from God, who sent me." So, if Jesus is God, why did God lie and say that his teaching was not his when it really _was_ his? I have another question. Catholics say Jesus is God, right? Well, if that's true, how do you explain Luke 6:12, which says: "At that time Jesus went up a hill to pray and spent the whole night there praying to God.." So, if Jesus is God, who did God pray to all night on that hill? Did God pray to himself?
That's easy. It's because they didn't see him as God standing in front of them. They saw him as a man in a human body. He wanted them to know that his words were the words of God and not just a man named Jesus. He also said "I and the Father are one", John 10:30. The jews knew what he was saying and picked up stones to stone him. in John 8:58 when Jesus made another claim to be God by calling Himself "I am," the same name with which God identified Himself to Moses in Exodus 3:14. Again, the Jews understood the reference and tried to stone Jesus. John 1 identifies Jesus as God like this. John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" John 1:14-"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." This makes the connection that Jesus is God incarnate by talking about how He became flesh and dwelled among us. I could go on and on but this should suffice. God bless you
@@Catholiclady3 You are totally confused. Catholics believe God is a trinity. So, tell me, do you see a three-person deity at either John 10:30 or John 1:1 or John 8:28? So, if it takes three persons to make one God, how can Jesus be God all by himself? You are in desperate of an accurate Bible study. BTW, you didn't answer either of my questions.
@@cbooth151 My one answer answered both of your questions. Keep reading the bible. You are missing the main points. I'm sorry you are so confused. I will pray for you. 😊
@@Catholiclady3 "My one answer answered both of your questions." No, it didn't. You make a familiar blunder by saying Jesus is God, when Jesus himself said he was the Son of God and that God was his Father. (John 20:17) You are in desperate need of an accurate Bible study. Look again at John 7:16, where Jesus said: "What I teach is not my own teaching, but it comes from God, who sent me." Only an imbecile will look at this scripture and conclude that Jesus is God when Jesus said that his teaching came FROM God. And what about Luke 6:12, which says: "At that time Jesus went up a hill to pray and spent the whole night there praying to God." So, if Jesus was God, who did God pray all night to on that hill? To himself? Face the fact, Catholic teachings have totally obliterated your power of reason.
Love the info available on your program. Sometimes would like to listen as I rest, lights and glasses off. However, IMO, your "theme music" is incredibly loud and irritating, and likely to abruptly rouse one from relaxed intaking of Catholic information to an upright seated, slightly enraged position. Unless you are being obnoxious intentionally, preventing quiet relaxation which may result in falling asleep.... GRRRR ~ Yawn ~ GRRRR ~~~
I always confess lies in confession, even white lies. I have read they are okay but then I’ve read they are not okay. I have a situation with a 93 year old father who can’t really think clearly and he is making his dog sick by sneaking her what he does not care to eat himself, chocolate included. The dog is about 20 pounds overweight and was off her food and throwing up, excessive thirst. The vet diagnosed possible pancreatitis on the phone. She seems better after two days so we are going to vet this week. In the meantime, I lied and told dad the vet prescribed this certain dog food that has medicine in it and she cannot have any other food, that if he doesn’t want to eat something, we will throw the leftovers in the trash, not give to the dog. So is this a sin or not? I am trying to keep the dog alive and the truth has done no good. When he thinks I not looking, he has his hand down to give the dog his food. He’s done so for years.
1 John 4:1 KJV "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of GOD: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby you know the SPIRIT of GOD: Every spirit that confesses that JESUS CHRIST is come in the flesh is of GOD: 3 and every spirit that confesses not that JESUS CHRIST is come in the flesh is not of GOD: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." Note: GOD was manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16 KJV) as the SON of GOD, JESUS CHRIST, to shed HIS real blood and give HIS real body on a real cross once for the forgiveness of all sins for whosoever believes. (Hebrews KJV chapters 9 and 10.) In complete contradiction to this, the RCC teaches that CHRIST comes in a wafer as often as a false prophet pleases.
