I'm a pseudo-new Catholic. Raised as a Catholic by my mum but church never resonated with me and I was never Confirmed and stopped going to church. I all but left the church, only going at Easter and Christmas to keep my mum company. Almost 30 years later for some miraculous reason I don't really know why, I started getting closer to Jesus again and finally Confirmed this Easter Vigil 🙂
I somehow came across Trent Horn, which led me to Catholic Answers, which has been instrumental in me coming back to the Catholic Church 🙂

Wow, my story is very similar. The ice broke for me when I watched videos on exorcist, and they sprinkled in teaching about confession. The week I decided to come back happened to be ash Wednesday and 30 years late confession during lent. Maybe that's not a coincidence and now I am in rcia this year.

These guys never have normal jobs and don't get that if you refuse to go along you lose everything. Catholics now need practical career advice and legal help.

New Catholic here! Was confirmed Divine Mercy Sunday. I’ve been learning to read the Bible the way the NT readers read the Bible and after hearing Revelation is the Liturgy, I decided to try to read it that way. Is there any commentary or study that can help reading it with Catholic eyes?

Joe is a pro at explaining scripture in a way to fit within the Roman Catholic Tradition.

    Could we say instead of
"Lead us not into temptation" but "lead us".. comma, "not into temptation"...?

There's no reason you can't say that in your prayer, but that's not what the particular prayer you're quoting means. "Lead us not" is an old grammatical structure that we would word in today's vernacular as "don't lead us." I don't know that I would try to memorize it in the vernacular, but it might be nice to have it written in the vernacular to compare it every once in a while. A modern way to structure it might be like this:
Our Father who is in heaven, let Your name be holy and kept special. Let Your reign come to us and let what You desire to happen really happen in our world as it is and does in heaven. Sustain us today, just like we always need from You, and forgive us for the wrong we did to You like we forgive the people that do wrong to us; don't lead us into situations where we will want to do the wrong thing, but instead keep us away from the things that are not what You say are good, because all power, glory, and governance rightfully belong to You for all time [and in all places]. We truly believe these things.
Hopefully that makes things clear. I've heard people say before that they didn't understand "thy kingdom come" fully, because we don't use that form of the verb much in day-to-day speech anymore.
