Thank you for the comment!
I thought this was just another basic tear down video.... until I saw you included each step for reassembly with a circle for which screws you were using. This is an amazing video. Thank you for your time and effort and please keep up the amazing work!
Thank you for the comment!
Great DIY. Just did it today. Used upsiren UX Pro Ultra putty and upsiren UTG-X paste. Made a big difference. Heat coming out of the console is noticeably warmer and fan does not spin faster than idle. A lot more heat transferred to the heat sink.
Great job! It will significantly prolong the lifespan of your console.
Was your console overheating ?
No, but I’ve had it since launch and want to keep it as long as possible. Plus I wanted a reason to take it apart 😂
Hola, de cuantos gramos as comprado el bote de ux pro ultra?

Wow man, straight to the point and the best Xbox disassembly video I've seen so far. I saw several videos and now I understand that those people have no Idea what they are talking about. Someone even showed in the video that you have to stick something into that disc eject hole. Even I know the purpose of that hole, and bunch of other wrong stuff. It's pretty obvious that you do that job on a regular basis. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for the comment. I'm running a repair business, so I know what I'm doing :)
I’m so excited that there’s a video that actually shows where the screws go back in and explains how things come back together instead of just taking it apart thank you so much for those. I had to replace the HDMI port in pretty sure I messed up the whole board because I don’t know what I’m doing but I’d rather not but I can pay $200 call fixer because I might as well buy a new one at that point.
I'd definitely buy a new one and sell the old one for donor parts, but not the whole thing at once, but part by part. In that case, you can earn up to $250. Only the SSD costs about $100. When the whole broken console is usually bought for a maximum of $100.
Thank you brother. Video 10/10. I followed it step by step and managed to change the thermal paste on my Series X without any difficulties.
Glad it helped
Wonderful detailed video. My heat putty was fine. My heat paste on the center was cooked. You saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you. You are my hero today!!!!

Great tear down. I think he missed an important highlight when taking out the fan. The middle bolt has blue lock tight on it. It’s a pain in the ass to get out and if you got lower end t8 tool it gets stripped easily. I had to use pliers because the screw was so hard that the torx tool stripped it.
Thank you for the comment!
Yup im doing it right now and i just stripped it. Fml.. looking at it i should if used soft grip pliers from the get go. Guess this is as far as im going to get till tomorrow.

Thank you for the comment!
the reason you often see the "dollop" or "line" applications of thermal paste is because it's being done on CPUs with integrated heat spreaders, so the DYE is actually fully covered, it's just the edges of the heat spreader that aren't. Which doesn't matter. But yeah for a bare dye like the Xbox or a GPU you absolutely want to spread the compound to make absolutely sure there's no dry spots. With an IHS the dye itself is a lot safer because it always has that integrated heat spreader to pull heat away from it where as dry spots on a bare dye there is no where for the heat to go.
Excellent video and detailed indications. I just subbed.

Nice guide. And good work on the Thermal Putty application. You may want to give your viewers a heads-up on the U6 Pro clone made by Computer Systems GR. From my testing it seems like they just added some pink colouring to K5 Pro (which doesn't perform very well, from my testing and others'). Upsiren U6 Pro is good, but now Upsiren UTP-8 is even better and still very competitive price. UTP-8 also avoids the confusion of Upsiren vs CSGR versions of U6 (which a lot of people have made the mistake on and bought the one from Greece).

Hi. Thanks for the video you did a very detailed tutorial here :D I want to know if you planning doing this kind of video with thermal pads and liquid metal replacement for PS5?
I repasted my Xbox series x tonight my Xbox has a plate over the xclamp and it was a pain to get off, I chipped a chip/capacitor by it but it still works thankfully so I didn’t rip it off the Sauter. It runs cooler and might last a little longer. Your video is very helpful I did everything fine except I struggled with the metal covering the x clamp but the paste was hard and very dry. Thanks man.

I read a comment on the 1x replacement video and i read that you started to use this thermal putty now and not those thermal pads. I would like to know how thick should i make the thermal putty "dots" for my xbox one x ( RAM, mosfets and southbridge...) or the best way to apply them so that there are no gaps.
You are the reason i even decided to open my box and order a thermal paste, didnt get no putty tho...
However i smudged the older one together just a bit cause that would again cause it to spread on the surface nicely after the chasis been screwed in tight. It wasnt dry and was gooey enough so i guess it would work...
The only thing im worried about is that i have slapped a TON of thermal paste on that chip ...
Its working better than new rn so may be its a rare W for me🤔
Great job! I'm happy to help. No need to worry about excess thermal paste if it's not conductive.
So you didn’t buy the putty right? But it worked?
@@adrian_s9849 cause my putty was still gooey and not dry, if that's the case for you too then please make sure to smudge it up back again because if you don't there will be gaps between the elements and putty and your xbox will die out of heat.
After smudging it on the surface it self again, then screw in the chassis

Very concise, teardown. I wonder how much lower Temps you get using thermal grizzly vs the stock thermal paste. I know it'd be hard trying to get an accurate reading without thermal probes. Just curious what it theoretically could do. Thank you for the video.
This is a typical paste and pads replacement that we do on a regular basis for clients who bring consoles with overheating issues and noisy fans. After the replacement, the temperature of the heatsink increases by 5-9 degrees Celsius, indicating that more heat has been transferred from the APU and other components to the heatsink.
Premesso che sto cercando il prodotto migliore, ho letto che la Grizzly ha valori inferiori a questa, perchè la consigli? ripeto per me che la devo ancora prendere è un aiuto la tua risposta non una critica o provocazione. Grazie

@@ElectronicsComputers Thanks my friend, some people say you can´t recover a Xbox SDD partition, I guess it doesn´t work because of OSU update file, you must match the same version of the OSU, as an example, if I opened today my XSX and cloned the 1st partition for backup in case of future failure, I also need also to download the available OSU of today to keep it with me, because in some months apart, if I replace the internal SDD with a newer one, I will restore the partition, but the OSU will be of a different version, so partition will not match the version of the dashboard when it was first cloned, and hence not boot, is not a perfect clone because partition and dashboard are not the same, hence not working, I guess this is the reason people can´t recover SDD, also a new approach don´t know if possible before opening the console, download the available OSU file, try to reinstall the operating system, which will rewrite the keys for that particular OSU file and matching keys in the hidden partition and clone the partition, which will guarantee probably 100% success I guess.
@@Viggen66 Yes, I always recommend performing an offline update before disassembling the console. There's a good deal on external Seagate Storage Expansion Card 2TB on Amazon, so I wouldn't even try to upgrade my own console. Just by a card, plug in and enjoy.
MEGA Thanks for the vídeo! Its amazing the way you explain every step, but i have one question. Why our consoles doesnt have the metal plate that cover the X claw? And why the connector plug (min3:20) its diferent too? Our consoles are from other region or something?
Thanks again for the vídeo! You are amazing!
Thank you for the comment! There were different revisions of the console, and who knows why Microsoft decided to get rid of that cover. Maybe they just wanted to make it a bit cheaper or due to some parts shortage, but anyway, it's not gonna affect the console's performance or lifespan in any way.
Can you do one for the Xbox Series S and also the Xbox one S?
very nice❤
Thanks 😊
I’ve only ever taken apart a ps4 how would you compare a series x to ps4 for taking apart and reapplying thermal paste
I absolutely love this video....how often should you replace the thermal paste and pads in a series x? Mine is 3 years old
Thank you for the comment! It's hard to determine exactly when the stock thermal paste deteriorates. I've repaired Xbox consoles that were about a year old, just out of warranty, and the paste was already dry. I replaced the thermal paste in my own Xbox six months after purchasing it, and it was already pretty bad . The thermal putty lasts for several years, but while you're inside your console replacing the thermal paste, you might as well take advantage of the opportunity to replace the thermal putty with something better. After three years, I'm pretty sure the console has accumulated a lot of dust on the heatsink, and the performance of the thermal paste is likely quite low.
THX, great video! If i cannot get any thernal putty in my area and is forced to use thermal pads, what thermal pad thinkness will work? thx
Thank you for the comment. I've provided the link with free delivery to any county in the description below. It's not that easy with the Series X. I've made an upgrade video for the One X, where I replaced thermal putty with thermal pads. However, nowadays we have excellent thermal putty that outperforms most thermal pads on the market. The issue with the Series X is that you have to use a variety of thermal pads with different thicknesses, and they should be highly compressible. The harder the thermal pad, the higher the thermal conductivity. Therefore, if you use soft thermal pads, you will compromise the cooling performance of your device.
@@ElectronicsComputers Thx so much for the reply! Like I said, in my area, I need to pay high amount of shipping cost if I were to get some putty…..Can u pls advice the thinness of the thermal pads at least for the 10 chips around the cpu l. Thx

Is it possible to apply thermal putty on the cpu? why we need a paste for that?
Why do we put oil in a motor and thick grease in bearings? The thermal putty and thermal paste have different density and are not interchangeable at all.
Hello, great video, I was wondering if you have a video like this for the series S.
Thank you for the comment! Not yet! But I'll make later. Basically same principle is applies to S. That console is way easier to disassemble and service.
@@ElectronicsComputers thanks for answering my comment! I'll service mine but I'm pretty confused about the thermal putty since in most videos they reuse it, and there's little putty visible, so I thought that the rest of the putty might be under the shielding around the processor?
@@eljaibas16 If you didn't remove the shielding under the heatsink, there's no need to replace the thermal putty. The reason for replacing it after disassembly is that thermal putty may not achieve a 100% perfect contact with the heatsink or some components. If you choose not to replace it, at least reshape the old one.
@@ElectronicsComputers oh I get it, thanks for the advice!

Wich is better for thermal putty? upsiren u6 pro or ux pro ultra??? Nice video
U6 PRO has 12.8W thermal conductivity, when UX PRO Ultra provides 16.8W. The higher the better.
Hey this video is awesome!! Thanks for the great content.
I have 1 question: The thermal putty that you have in the description is listed as 12.8w/mk, is there any benefit to go to a 14.8w/mk or 16.8w/mk? I see they are also available.
When that video was made, 12.8w/mk was the best thermal putty on the market. Of course, opt for the one that offers the best thermal conductivity. The heatsink in the Series X is perfectly capable of dissipating high levels of heat.
@@ElectronicsComputers Awesome! I really appreciate the response. Thanks for the information and the great tutorial video! I’ll be doing this project very soon.
Tanks, how often the Xbox needs the full clean and replace of the thermal in general ?
I'd do that every two or three years, depending on how dusty the environment around the console is and how often it's used.
Hi friend. This is the best tutorial I have ever seem for Xbox Series X.
I'd like to know about the the termal putty. Do you know How long does It last? I live in a country where the temperature is around 26°C, 34°C most of the year in my region.
I've never used this thermal putty before, but I bought one from the link you shared here.
Thanks for this video
The original thermal putty lasts for about 5 years, and I wouldn't worry about it much. The main issue is with the thermal paste, which is terrible and dries up pretty quickly (in about 1-2 years). It's not even close to high-performance pastes like Thermal Grizzly. If you decide to replace the thermal paste, you'll need to either reshape the original thermal putty or apply a new one. UPSIREN U6 PRO also performs better than the original thermal putty. To conclude, there's no need to replace it unless you want to replace the thermal paste. Together, these thermal solutions will provide decent thermal transfer to the heatsink, which can have a significant impact on the console's longevity.
Hi friend. Thanks a lot for the info. The upsiren arrived last Friday here, so i'm going to put my console on the surgery table and replace the thermal pad and paste this week.
Instead of Kryonaut, I would more recommend applying the Honeywell PTM 7950
That solution is a bit pricey but works pretty good. We've been using Grizzly Kryonaut for many years in our service and that paste lasts for many years without loosing its qualities. But in reality any good thermal interface will do its job better than dry original paste.
i need to do my ps5 like this is there a video? if not you should make one.
I'll make it.
@@ElectronicsComputers ok ill be waiting just ordered the UPSIREN U6 PRO putty and some thermal grizzly liquid metal.
Is there a link for the thermal putty? Thank you 😊
All the links in the video description.
Whats better thermal puddy or thermal pads
Both have pros and cons. In some cases, we can replace thermal putty with thermal pads, while in others, we must use a specific thermal interface. For the Xbox Series X, I highly recommend using thermal putty because there are nonstandard gaps, and you would need a variety of pads with different thicknesses. Additionally, to make thermal pads work, you would need to use soft ones, which have very poor thermal conductivity. Therefore, thermal putty is the only proper solution for that particular console.
Before you get to motherboard chip press. I have a huge head shield on. Which looks soldered onn. Could you explain how to remove this. It was not even in Ur demo
Only a first batch of Series X came with that shielding. It's not soldered, just pry it with a screwdriver or a prying tool.
Approximately what is the w/mk value of the green thermal pads used by Microsoft? Because I couldn't find the upsiren pro paste you used in my country. I asked at least to use a better pad than the existing pads. For example, do you think it would be enough to replace it with a pad of 8 w/mk?
I'm pretty sure you can get that thermal putty with free delivery to your country from Aliexpress. The links down below.
I don't recommend using thermal pads in that console because there are non-standard gaps between the components and the heatsink. In theory, you can use highly compressible pads, but they have terrible thermal conductivity. The harder the thermal pad, the higher its conductivity. Therefore, Upsiren U6PRO thermal putty is the best solution available on the market, as of today.
Really good video, will there be one for the PS5 as well?
Thank you for the comment. Yeah, somewhere in the future. I wish I had more time to make those videos.
How do we understand the need for change?
After two years of console use, the thermal paste on the APU is definitely dry. Once you remove the heatsink, you'll need to replace the thermal paste or at least reshape the old one so it can make proper contact with the heatsink. If the thermal paste is not soft and greasy, then it's time to replace it as well.
Please do a Japanese Sony PS5 too because liquid metal is so....dangerously not friendly
I know this may sound odd but does it have to be a normal T8 or can it be a TR8?
T8 but TR8 will work as well.
Grazie, cercavo da tempo un materiale per sostituire i pad simile a quello originale ma erano tutti rigidi. Funziona bene? avete già fatto dei test di comparazione? grazie a chi risponderà.
We use Upsiren U6 PRO in our repair shop for all types of equipment and it works great. It's definitely not worse than the original green putty that used for Xbox consoles, maybe even better.
Anyone who is serious about cooling uses grizzly. While it does dry out faster it still holds a lower temp longer, especially on consoles because it was designed for GPU's and that is the part of the chip that gets the hottest with these consoles. The APU that AMD designs is awesome but very bad for longevity. if you compare the amount of time a CPU will last without a 3D accelerated GPU built into it, to one that has one, the one without will run decades compared to the other only running years. if the chips were sperate it would triple the lifespan of the consoles but who knows maybe thats the point. I havent seen a console built with cooling in mind since the OG Xbox.
Would it be needed to replace thermal paste after 3 years of use?
Most likely, yes, especially if the fan has become noisier over time.
Would this work with Halo Xbox Version? Also, would Thermal ads be ok to use instead of putty? How much putty did you buy?
Those consoles are the same inside. You'll need 50 grams of thermal putty. I don't recommend using thermal pads in this console because there are non-standard gaps between the components and the heatsink. In theory, you can use highly compressible pads, but they have terrible thermal conductivity. The harder the thermal pad, the higher its conductivity. Therefore, Upsiren U6PRO thermal putty is the best solution available on the market, as of today.
@@ElectronicsComputers Thank you so much.
If you were doing this with thermal pads, how thick would you use? 1.5mm?
In practice, it's impossible to use thermal pads in that particular console because there are non-standard gaps between the components and the heatsink. In theory, you can use highly compressible pads, but they have terrible thermal conductivity. The harder the thermal pad, the higher its conductivity. Therefore, Upsiren U6PRO thermal putty is the best solution available on the market, as of today.
OK I see, thank you.@@ElectronicsComputers
My xclamp from 3:40 is covered by a metal cover. How do i remove that?
Only first batch of Series X has that cover. Simply pry it with a screwdriver.
I can use thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme series x??
No, first of all UPSIREN U6PRO has better thermal conductivity and second of all those pads are not easily compressible so it basically wouldn't work perfectly in that particular application. If you find some soft pads it will work but those pads have the worst thermal conductivity. So, thermal putty is the way to go.
What kind of thermal putty could I get at Amazon

If if try to turn it on shortly after, the power light comes on, it doesnt load the home screen, and then it shuts itself off after about a minute or so. If i unplug it, wait about 10-15 minutes, and plug it back in, it'll power on and allow me to play game again for about another 15-20 minutes. I have tried everything from clearing cache, system reset, offline system update via USB, and burning sage.
Any ideas?
How does the fan behave during those 15-20 minutes while the console is operational? If you just turn it on and leave it like that without playing any games, will it last longer?
@ElectronicsComputers it behaves normally while playing until it freezes. If not playing a game it stays on without fail (I had to reinstalled some very large games)
@@cupofjoe222 It's hard to diagnose such cases. First of all, I would make sure that it's not an overheating issue. If you replaced only the thermal paste but didn't replace the thermal putty, then the VRAM and MOSFETS can overheat and fail. Once the heatsink is removed, it won't make reliable thermal transfer from the component to the heatsink via thermal putty. You have to replace it or at least reshape the old one. Second, I'd check the SMART of the SSD. Then I'd check if the power supply provides stable current and voltage under heavy loads. I'd also check the power rail that powers the APU chip. There could be a dead MOSFET. If one of the MOSFETs in a phase fails, the APU can still function under normal conditions because the other phases can compensate to some degree by sharing the load. However, under heavy load conditions, when the APU demands more power than usual, the remaining functional phases might not be able to supply enough power. This insufficient power delivery can cause the APU to become unstable and potentially freeze or crash. As you can see, there are a lot of things that can go wrong, and without checking some key points, it's hard to say what's going on.

Thermal Grizzly has higher thermal conductivity and lasts very long time. We use it even for some industrial application and equipment.

After repairing numerous PS and Xbox consoles, I can confidently say that both possess distinct strengths and weaknesses in their designs. But I'm agree, the Xbox demonstrates a higher level of refinement in its engineering.
whats the difference between U6,U8 and UX as im bit confused as they all look the same....
They all have different thermal conductivity: U6 PRO 12.8W/mK, UTP-8 14.8W/mK, UX PRO 16.8W/mK.
@@ElectronicsComputers I see what one would work best for the xbox?
I can use thermal pads cant i instead of putty yes
There's extremely nonstandard thickness between all parts. So to make it work you'll need highly compressible thermal pads which have very bad thermal conductivity. I suggest using Upsiren U6 PRO ( the link in the description), thermal putty doesn't look as beautiful as thermal pads but it does a great job transferring heat from the components to the heat sink.
Hello, my Xbox Series X sometimes crashes and Looks Like a temperature Problem. May i use thermal pads instead of thermal putty or do they not the job properly? I would cut the pads at size
Could be overheating, some other hardware issues or simply dying SSD. I don't recommend using thermal pads in that console because there are non-standard gaps between the components and the heatsink. In theory, you can use highly compressible pads, but they have terrible thermal conductivity. The harder the thermal pad, the higher its conductivity. @@ElectronicsComputers thank you for the quick explanation, I will try to repaste after I build my first pc next week :)
NEED HELP, i did this followed step by step, and Xbox boots up and plays games but the network is offline, and says its wires when i both have ethernet plugged in or not. Can't switch to wireless. What should i do or look back inside the Xbox?
There's nothing you could do wrong during this process that could affect the Ethernet and Wireless card. It could be just a coincidence or a software glitch. Try unplugging the console from the wall and HDMI for a few minutes. Make sure there is no debris in the Ethernet port and also try to connect to a wireless network when Ethernet is unplugged. If none of this helps, then I'd try to hard reset the console.
Ok i read comments and i know how to do all that but do i get the 10g thermal putty before i buy i always ask what to buy as i am unsure but applying it and tearing the xbox series x down i know how to do that :)
You needed at least 40 grams of paste for the whole thing. But I recommend buying 50 grams.
Thank you i am a twitch streamer and really wanted to clean it out properly so thank you so much for that now i know what you called that stuff and how much is best to get :)
Users say 1.5mm is the pad size replacement. I'm going with a good brand for pads, not using putty. Will report in a couple weeks the results
Kind of risky but it's your call. In case if you notice that the fan started to work on higher RPMs (APU overheat) or some artifacts, such as distorted textures, flickering, or strange patterns appearing which means the VRAM doesn't get a proper cooling, replace the pads immediately with the thermal putty.
So my xbox has been having huge graphical glitches especially on shadows and some stuttering when I play too long. Do you think this will solve that?
Just ordered the thermal putty. I already have some paste. I figure this is an easy fix. I already did pads and paste on 5 3090's.
It should help. Also clean the cooling system.
Im not sure if you will reply but ive never heard or thermal putty is it required or optional
Every Xbox console uses thermal putty as a means of heat transfer from the components to the heatsink. It's not optional.
@@ElectronicsComputers ok thank you I'll make sure to get some from the bio👍🏼
Did you end up with a lot of extra thermal putty/grease?
If you bought two 20 grams containers, then almost all putty will go to replace the green thermal putty. It's very important to apply the right amount or slightly more on the memory chips and VRM components.
Thank you! I bought the 50g container of the putty from the site you recommended!
How could the thermal compound already be that dry!?!
It's not the best thermal paste. There are far superior options available on the market in both longevity and thermal conductivity.
What size can I use on the thermal pads?
I don't recommend using thermal pads in that console. Thermal putty from Upsiren is the best solution on the market at the moment. The link in the description.
@@ElectronicsComputersdo you have an alternative für upsiren? Something on Amazon?
Derbauer himself said kryonaut is not suitable for long term usage, as it is originally used for LN2 cooling. Beware
I don't know who that is, but we use that thermal paste for all applications in our repair shop (we don't cheap out on that like others do), and I haven't noticed any degradation signs for the first two years of that paste. Usually, devices come in for repair after 1-3 years of use when they are full of dust and have other issues. Once the paste is replaced, whether it's a desktop PC, laptop, or console, it will last for 2-3 years without any issues. By then, it will already be the end of life for that device, which will likely fail due to other issues because modern electronics don't last that long and become obsolete very quickly. Of course, for some industrial equipment like power supplies that power machinery, we use different thermal paste that can easily last up to 8 years.
@@ElectronicsComputers derbauer or der8auer is the owner of ThermalGrizzly, producer of Kryonaut. In fact he just launched new series (2 or 3) of thermal paste for long term use in yesterday's computex. He admit its particle size is not suitable. Reports to him shows it typically dryout within 1 year. It's all according to him

Hello, researching online... I have seen that computer people say that they are the official creators of upsiren u6 pro and that what they sell on Alibaba and Aliexpress is counterfeit and that it could be harmful to the equipment... is this true? I don't have the slightest doubt that they are fakes but.... about the performance on paper, safety and useful life, is the purchase reliable?
here for comments
Upsiren U6PRO is the best stuff for replacing thermal pads and thermal putty.
can i use arctic mx6? If yes, can i use the dot method?
Yes, you can use Arctic MX6. I showed in the video what happens if you use the dot method. If it's OK for you, then you can use it as well.
@@ElectronicsComputers May I ask how often do we need to re-paste Xbox series X? Mine is about 18 months since purchase 🙏🏻
Hello? I would like to use artic mx 6 or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut what do you think? And I Will to use thermal pad Gelid extreme or ultimate 1.5 mm ...
What are the symtoms of having to do this???
The fan noise became louder and fan works on higher RPMs for a longer period of time or all the time. The console turns off during the game play. As a result of overheating, you may see some artifacts or visual anomalies on the screen.
well, in my case, I've had the console since launch (nov 2020), and recently, in the last year, it's been getting louder and louder to the point i can hear it with my headphnes on! so i just finished replacing the paste with this video, and my thermal paste was VERY dry like cookie crumbs, but now it is back to being just about silent like it used to be.
I will declare myself a professor if I can do the paste replacement😀
What’s the life expectancy of that terminal putty?
I'm pretty sure that the console will die before that thermal putty dries. There are only two reasons why you should replace the original paste: if you want to replace it with a higher performance thermal putty, or if you have disassembled the console. In the latter case, you can also reshape the original putty so that it can make proper contact with the heatsink again.
@@ElectronicsComputers would you recommend replacing the original putty with upsiren is it better performance
Hi! How I can contact You? I just done it today! I want to share with You my work. I waited about month to arrive thermal compound. I used alkso upsiren thermal paste on cpu (hope it was good choice, it was not thermal putty). Is it normal that now xbox pull out so much hot air? I do not remember that it was that hot after buying it
I hope you used regular thermal paste on the APU, not thermal putty! If your console generates more heat under the same load, that means your upgrade has yielded positive results, and more heat from all components is being transferred to the heatsink. Good job!
@@ElectronicsComputers please check online if that's suitable product - for APU I used UPSIREN UTG-X. I ordered it with Upsiren U6 after Your recommendation
@@boro977 Yes, it will work perfectly!
@@ElectronicsComputers thank You for Your help
can i use grizzly 2.0mm thermal pads
No, and there's no sense to do that. The thermal conductivity of Grizzly pads is just 8 W/mk when Upsiren putty paste has 12.8 W/mk and it's super easy to apply.
Got it! thank you!
Lastly can i use uprisen thermal putty on Xbox one X?
@xaviercoachlee6908 Sure. We use that putty paste for all consoles and some other devices because it's super easy to apply, and it outperforms most thermal pads. alii.pub/6nugj5
Do you really need to replace the Thermal Pads? I Thought Most of the cooling is done by the Thermal Paste
Original thermal putty is pretty good and will last for about 4 years. The problem is that if you disassemble your console for example to replace the thermal paste then I highly recommend replacing the thermal putty as well. Because that thermal putty won't have good contact with both parts and won't have the same thermal conductivity. At least try to reshape the old putty slightly if you don't want to apply a new one.
