    Replacing the blue thermal pads as well would be way better. But of course more work and more expensive. But if you want to have your Xbox longer it makes sence

      if your pads are dry and or cracked then sure replace them, and get thermal putty for the vrams.
      cheers🍻

    Hi can I use Graphite Thermal Pad for the Cpu/Gpu instead of the usual thermal paste?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      🫠Regarding your question, sure you can just make sure you cover with kapton tape all the components around the crystal dye, because the graphite is conductive.
      Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
      cheers🍻

      Regarding your question, the GPU pull on this xbox is almost the same as 3070
      there is no GPU it is a APU, and again it works almost like 3070.

      @@uFixTek Awesome, thanks for the response! I replaced the putty with 1.5mm Gelid thermal pads. I replaced the paste with Thermalright TFX and put it back together. Found some other issues with it so waiting on a part to come in to remove and solder on the new piece, so haven't seen if the thermal pads and paste will perform well with that size yet.

    When does the Xbox need to be repasted?

      Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
      Regarding your question, don't let anyone give a day numbers or time line, there are few factors you need to know before calculating service time,
      #1. use environment (if its dusty , or not at room temperature)
      #2. how many hours in a 24h is it turned on?
      #3. out of the above hours how many hours is game play time, not counting movies or anything else, only game time
      #4. type of the thermal paste that is used, (this applies after the 1st service when you apply your thermal paste, because we don't have specs of factory paste)
      scenarios:
      if your environment is dusty, and you play over 6h game time on it every day, and you have used a good thermal paste like thermal grizzly kryonaut on 1st service, then i recommend you to service the console every 15months.
      NOTE:
      it is very important to pay close attention on the 2nd service (re-pasting) after 15months, because this 2nd service will help you to narrow dawn the more exact service time for the next time.
      you need to see the following:
      -if the paste that you place 15 months ago , it is still pasty or its dried and rock solid
      -look for excessive dust buildup on the heatsink
      If you find any of or both of the above situation then you will need to lower your next repaste to a lower dates, eg. every 12 months.
      else if paste still good and heatsink some what clean, then increase the service to 2years.
      Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

      @uFixTek so does gametime use up the Xbox harder then movie time?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% yes, the power consumption and CPU/APU usage go much higher on game time, there fore higher temperatures

    Take it apart again after using it, and tell me how much condensation you find on every bit of that blue thermal putty. It's allot.. You should at least take it off and knead and reapply every piece so it gets reset when reassembling

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's not condensation, my friend it's "oil bleeding phenomenon", just nothing to worry about.

    • @_mylastname
      @_mylastname ปีที่แล้ว

      @@uFixTekI don't think I was being rude when I commented, but I repaired an Xbox series x... Put it back together.. And after only a few minutes of being on it had to be torn down and I found condensation on every pad .I wasn't hallucinating... I think it was from the small gap that's created from taking it apart and putting it back... You don't have to be rude about it, asking if I know what conden-fknsation is? Do you?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i don't and didn't mean to be rude, but what you call "condensation" is absolutely wrong, because its impossible to create condensation , at room temperature unless you go subzero. what you got its the "oil bleeding phenomenon" that happens on thermal pads and thermal putty. its not conductive the oil substance.

    • @_mylastname
      @_mylastname ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@uFixTek ok, so why couldn't you just say, " no what you're referring to is BLEED" instead of insulting someone's error. And to bring up your 17 years of experience just to seem better than someone on top of being rude was great 👍 I could tell you at my 44 years of age, my 34 years of experience in my many fields makes me better than you... But I wouldn't do that..I would simply correct you.. but yeah, thanks for correcting me and giving me the proper answer I apparently was looking for..I won't inconvenience you again.. I'll be sure of that. God bless

      I apologize for my earlier response that you found rude. I have corrected my answer, and I'm sorry if I came across as too harsh. We're both the same age almost, I should have been more respectful. When I mentioned my experience, it was not to brag, but to assure you that I have done this many times and do it for a living. Again, I apologize for my improper form of answering. Cheers 🍻
