I’ve wanted one for over a decade, they’ve finally become legal in the states just last year. I don’t want anymore attention brought to them because then they’ll only go up in price
@@valdranne Same, I'm actually planning on getting one soon. Thing is though I live in California so they are already reaching $40K. There already has been attention on them though so that's why you see them for around $25k on average. Good thing about it though is that more people want the Evo 3, because of the more raw driving experience as well as it having a 6bolt - because they think that crankwalk is impossible in them (it isn't impossible lmao, 4g63s are just more prone to CW than other engines). Another thing that's good is that people say that the AYC in the Evo 4 is garbage compared to the 5 and so on, and people also like the 5's styling more usually so the Evo 4 is always going to be overshadowed by it's successor and predecessor. As you can tell the prices have been steady at $25k or so ever since they been legal/gotten attention in general.
I sold mine for 3.5k about 8 years ago. Mine was in better condition inside than this one, including genuine Mitsubishi gauges & the standard stereo. The only other mods were HKS silent Hi-Power exhaust and panel filter & Ohlins dampers. Never should have sold it. The Evo IV was actually the most successful in terms of rally wins.
For me, the EVO IV is the pinnacle of Mitsubishi Lancer engineering. It's just simply the MOST good looking EVO (sorry for the VII, VIII, IX and the Evo III).
Yes I agree no less. It defines what the Lancer Evolution is. It has no frills like the 5 and 6 do (wide fenders and crazy shaped wing). It is very sleek whilst still having the classic Evo look with the massive yet simple wing with the wicket in the center. It was the birth of AYC and it's the lightest of the cn9a models.
Laterally $8k in Canada 5 years ago. There engines go boom easy, they rust easy, rear AYC breaks easy, interiors are cheap. I paid $7k for my evo 6 lmao. People over rate the fk out of these cars.
I'm only 15, just gotta wait 5-7 years hoping prices go down and cars still run on gas. In 5-7 years I'll be in the military hoping to make enough money to buy my dream car, Evo IV
You’ll have more chances than us here in the US no matter when. I know we can import them now but having to go throwing all that process probably a headache.
do you still have such cars in your inventory??? very much interested to buy one . . . been looking to acquire a 1994 - 1996 Mitsubishi Lancer EVOLUTION IV (CN9A) S-AWC® 4WD + 2.0 in. I like the NON FENDER FLAIRE BS of this Evo IV. That's why I got myself a 2000 Mirage (Lancer name in the US, I don't know why they changed the name, damn yank's)
that car just needs a manual boost controller and upgraded camshafts you cant tune the ecu so u cant upgrade injectors unless u get evo5-8 ecu or management system also better turbo the evo 4 turbos are dead
That's not standard 😕 i can see two modifications straight away . Indicators and exhaust ,,,,,. also note no under bonnet pics I do own a 100% original evo 4
This car is underrated af... i rarely hear anyone talk about it, thank you for making this video!

I have one. Had it 7yrs and on all the groups they never mention the 4 always the 5s or 6s

Wtf idiot
@@chloespencer8632 Can you read?
Back then was normal to sell them so cheap.
@@spiritofcompetition6281 Thank you, someone who understands that these things were not always so valuable.
£3.5k?? 😂😭😭😭😭😭
My mate had an Evo 4 same color as this in 2000, he thrashed it for years and it never missed a beat, no crank walk either
That’s immaculate! I love the evo 4s there so underrated! Thank you for this video bro❤️
Thanks mate
I used to own one and I loved it.
It was such an easy car to drive & it loved the snow! Miss my IV...
For me, the EVO IV is the pinnacle of Mitsubishi Lancer engineering. It's just simply the MOST good looking EVO (sorry for the VII, VIII, IX and the Evo III).
Sorry but the VI is the best looking
I prefer the look of Evo 4 rather than other Evos. Evo 4 got its rally look and its aggresiveness perfectly

I love VII the best but IV is right behind.. I dont like X, it looks and feels different
We think it’s a tricky choice between the 4 and 5. The 4 is a little ‘cleaner’ looking perhaps?
I had one that was imported from Japan. It had a lot of ralliart stuff on it. It was ballistic.
In the States we got evo 3 going for $40,000
I bagged one of these for 2250 euro about 7/8 year ago.they were cheap as chips in the UK and Ireland at one time
My most favorite Evo ever, in my country, they're usually around 800k - 1 Million Pesos (14-20K Dollars).
How can this car ever be under 10k ?
In Australia minimum it’s 25-30k AUD
Laterally $8k in Canada 5 years ago. There engines go boom easy, they rust easy, rear AYC breaks easy, interiors are cheap. I paid $7k for my evo 6 lmao. People over rate the fk out of these cars.
Evo 4 is my favorite of all Evolutions - no side body mods
Ours too!
Can’t get one for less than $20,000 in the USA lol
I want to buy it!
I got the Japanese model 9 digit vin number and it’s also standard un modified 🤷🏻♂️👍

10K quid for this car would sell for 30K in the USA
Big facts, i'm currently looking at prices online and they go between $26-$32k
evo 2 have the intercooler spray.. nice video
Currently have an evo V sitting in my garage

Hi Jamie, thanks for uploading this video. If you don't mind, may I know if this Car is still available for Sale? I would like to buy it.
It’s a masterpiece a legend of rally world
less than 10k? where is this for sale? I'll take it now!
It was less than that when we first brought it!
Only trouble with these is the engine has crank walk so make the engine unreliable
Option1. Evo6-9 engine swap. Option2. Upgrade pistons, crank, etc. My evo4 has 400whp and have been running with it for a while and still going strong
Crank walk is an urban legend
@@leaninheavy I hope your true. I’ve got a 4 stock and I’ve had no troubles but it haunts me that I’ll get crank walk one day 🤒
@@bigdog2432 change your oil and set your idle to like 1000 and stay off the clutch when you can, and you’ll never experience it

Doesn’t the tires lose air pressure like the r32 skyline gtr?
i found a modified one for about 4000 would the value still increase
Yes providing it’s a good car in the first place
One reason that I've always wanted to own one and its still the same reason, "EMPEROR." That is all. lol

If i had money i would.
in what universe can you buy an evo 4 for under 10k??
It was much less than that when we brought it originally!
Is there any way to check an evo for rust, that has underseal?
Not rly. Take ur grinder and get some off to have a look under it. It’s worth it, mine had a lot of rust underneath the underseal
best way to tell is if the underseal is bubbling
Open the bonnet please
That's not standard 😕 i can see two modifications straight away . Indicators and exhaust ,,,,,. also note no under bonnet pics
I do own a 100% original evo 4
Why the driver seat wearing a ski mask
Yeah lemme buy one with my non existing money
Iwill buy one if you pay for it 😂

100% Factory condition..

under 10000 pounds, how???

steeringwheel on the right side makes it pretty mutch worthless
Makes it the most desirable model actually, especially if it’s JDM model not an exported one. LHD models are worth nothing outside of the USA.
