Ok I live in Charleston and when Shane pulled that darn number 2 I realized I was madder at him than I have ever been. I am a bartender in Charleston, SC and I have personally dealt with those noodleheads from Southern Charm on multiple occasions. They have ruined outings I have had with friends and I am have even kicked at least two of the cast out of my bar MULTIPLE TIMES
In Shane’s defense, Slow Tv sounds and looks like a calming scenery to play in the background while you’re doing your chores or catching up on work that you out off for two weeks, or something like that, so I can get behind it. You guys should have seen the clips they edited in. Also, Southern Charm is like The Real Housewives of southern families- complete mindless tv, which we all need sometimes. Furthermore, oatmeal is a hot cereal if you were alive before 2000. Now they just call it oatmeal and it’s like it’s own category. However, Shane’s list does scream grandpa zone, but I’m kinda here for it. 🤷♀️
Shane’s description of Rules of Engagement is SPOT ON. I binged that whole show in a week, don’t remember anything about it besides the episode with Curtis Armstrong.
There’s a line from it I’ve always loved- Marriage is about compromise- for instance, she wanted a cat and I didn’t want a cat- so we compromised- and got a cat.
A girl from Terrace House (Hana Kimura) literally got bullied so much after an episode aired where people thought she was "mean" that she killed herself. She was told to get angry at another guy in the house for washing her wrestling outfit so she did what she was told and people were so awful to her on social media.
dont forget the racism, hana was some form of japanese ethnic minority and that was a big part of the harassment she got. i cant like terrace house because of it
Thank you for commenting this!!! I was searching to see if anyone was gonna bring this up. I used to be a Terrace house fan myself until this happened, I can never see the show the same way again ever
Right. I can never watch any season again knowing how dark things actually get. Other contestants spoke out after how much cyber bullying they experienced
1) I half expected Ryan's number 1 to be Ancient Aliens :D:D:D 2) as someone working for the German national railway company, Slow TV is what I call a route tour. We use these clips to understand where certain buildings or structures are in relation to the rails. It's actually quite soothing. It's basically visual ASMR
>These are shows that I'd feel embarrassed if someone caught me watching >Shane's shows are all things Drew and Ryan try to embarrass and guilt him about >Shane wins by a landslide
Shane being excited to talk about southern charm and hurrying ryan up along only for everyone to go wtf at the reveal is genuinely the funniest fucking thing ever
So slow TV comes from Norway and it really was like an event when it started. It was made by our national broadcaster NRK. The train ride Shane is referencing is the Bergensbane, which is a train ride from Oslo to Bergen, and it's beatifull. I remember it being on our TV all day long and you would just check in once in a while. They also did Hurtigruta, which is a boatride that goes all along the coast up north past the fjords and into the arctic, it's beautifull. Was on the tv for days. Slow TV has become part of the NRK syle where at christmas they just show a Ribbe (National christmas food thing) cooking in the oven, and during summer they either take a boat along the coast, stopping by coastal villagers and talking to people, or drive around in a van around the country stopping in random villages and talking to people. Showing the drives live We have a beautiful country, and we like looking at it.
I genuinely want to watch Slow TV because of Shane's list. Nature is basically the only thing I like about living in the USA (so much variety, all beautiful in different ways!), and I have long envied Norway and various other countries for their beautiful nature as well. Getting to see a train route from over there without all the expenses of international travel? So exciting! 😍😍
i've already posted this in another thread on here but: pretty sure danny has mentioned in one of his reddit videos or maybe the sad boys podcast (i'm not sure where exactly but not on his main channel) that he and the watcher team were discussing doing a ghost hunt together. i've been waiting ever since haha
@@AlinaProbablyI recall the same thing, I can’t place exactly where either. But if it hasn’t been recorded already it probably won’t be for a while because of the baby
I am SO intrigued by Shane’s Slow TV pick. Legitimately, that is something I would enjoy. It’s a niche pick, but there IS an audience (mostly neurodivergent, I’d wager)
Brittany Broski mentioned that Shane recommended her slow TV and she watches it wihle being high, with her favorite music on, since slow TV is silent. Ngl that sounds like the chillest time. Nothing guilty about this pleasure haha
My norwegian heart is screaming 😂❤ I loooove that Shane loves our slow TV. We not only do it with trains, but also a big ferry that travels all across Norway - and we also have a live stream over several months which follows an eagle family in their nest, the Rauer family 😂 I guess us Norwegians really love slow pace relaxed TV 😋 Also, sidenote - I was so sure Man Tracker was going to be on someones list 😂 It would def be on mine, I love it.
American here, and I love SlowTV so much too! Also @railcowgirl, who’s a driver on the Bergensbanen and does similar videos; literally the most relaxing thing ever
Sounds a bit like the swedish show Den stora älgvandringen (The great moose migration). It’s basically a live stream of a bunch of moose’s wandering around.
As a frequent Drew Gooden watcher I can verify that he's always smoking cigarettes while reviewing movies, so much so that I've never actually even seen his face due to the cloud of smoke constantly around it!
Havent seen a comment about the editing so i wanted to take a moment to applaud the editing of this ep which made me double over laughing like letting us know Steven won Family Feud, Steven on a train, and the ZERO RESULTS FOUND for searching "hot cereal" on the wikipedia page for Oatmeal 😂😂😂 chefs kiss editing. Thank you Annie. 😂
What an absolute treat to have Drew Gooden as a guest. I’m also kinda shocked shows like Maury, Jerry Springer or Judge Judy weren’t on anyone’s list. Maybe they didn’t cut cuz those were the go-to home sick from school shows in the 90s/2000s.
The cereal discussion came back briefly so I just have to say, Oatmeal is literally one of the original cereals and why breakfast cereal is even called that. 'Cereal' is literally just edible grass grains...like oats. Processed cereals we eat today are literally just an evolution of oatmeal and similar foods.
just wanted to give props to whoever is in charge of the subtitles because "the teen wolf theme song bc its a banger idc" made me giggle even before the video started
i love how ryan says that the people in terrace house are like so nice and so sweet when the fans made a contestant kill herself and the other contestants proceeded to throw a party during the mourning area 💀
Love love love that Slow TV got a shoutout! The "Scenic train ride from Bergen to Oslo (Norway)" is a favorite. If I have two screens, I'll have it playing on one, and it gives a sense of movement and travel during a quiet office day. It's a slightly odd, lovely thing to have. :)
Shane revealing his number one being the Today show was both the most and yet least surprising thing. So much so that it drew an actual full-body laugh out of me in the middle of the night
Drew calling Shane a doofus and the reality tv esc pang with the black and white… I cant think of anything better. Seeing Drew and Shane in the same room is so weird to me I love it.
Yeah, Shane won. Guilty pleasures is exactly what he gave us and more. You don't get made fun of for shows that everyone likes...that's why they're called GUILTY pleasures. Ryan over here giving us the British Baking shows. Pfffft. That's main stream AF. Shane being authentic in his weirdness gives me life. Thank you Shane. I'm gonna grab some chocolate milk and go watch a train for 8 hrs.
I am old and un-hip so I don't know who Drew Gooden is, but watching him going all in on razzing Shane for his top pick was hilarious. He brought a lot of great energy to this ep!
i’m not done yet, but Drew and Ryan seemingly just have shows older folks (read, my middle-american middle-aged parents) would watch while I’m actively judging/bewildered by Shane for the content he has consumed and I would expect nothing else
shane’s top 5 are literally just my mothers favorite (not guilty) tv shows. like i’ve probably seen most of the today show bc it was on every morning at her house. i knew what southern charm was immediately bc she talks about it often. they should hang out
I LOVE Jenna and Hoda. They’re the most unhinged morning show hosts I’ve ever seen. My introduction to them was sitting in the waiting room dehydrated and miserable before my hemorrhoidectomy surgery. It feels like watching two friends at brunch. Okay but shane is right oatmeal is cereal because if you look up the definition of cereal its "breakfast food made from roasted grain" of which oatmeal totally fits.

A bar manager friend in Charleston has told me similar stories of spoiled, entitled behavior.
Jesus christ that really sucks :(
dont forget the racism, hana was some form of japanese ethnic minority and that was a big part of the harassment she got. i cant like terrace house because of it
Thank you for commenting this!!! I was searching to see if anyone was gonna bring this up. I used to be a Terrace house fan myself until this happened, I can never see the show the same way again ever
was waiting for someone to mention this omg its so sad
Right. I can never watch any season again knowing how dark things actually get. Other contestants spoke out after how much cyber bullying they experienced
Shane is a 70 year old man in a 30-ish year old mans body
He’s almost 40! Lol but fr
1) I half expected Ryan's number 1 to be Ancient Aliens :D:D:D
2) as someone working for the German national railway company, Slow TV is what I call a route tour. We use these clips to understand where certain buildings or structures are in relation to the rails. It's actually quite soothing. It's basically visual ASMR
Slow tv kinda cute ngl
>These are shows that I'd feel embarrassed if someone caught me watching
>Shane's shows are all things Drew and Ryan try to embarrass and guilt him about
>Shane wins by a landslide
thanks to drew for acknowledging big brother, im obsessed with it and ive been watching it for like a decade
thing is i cant watch live feeds cause im canadian
Drew calling out Shane for his shenanigans is something I never knew I needed until now.
this is the best collab to ever be constructed
Drew being "aggressive" made me laugh way harder than it should-
Shane being excited to talk about southern charm and hurrying ryan up along only for everyone to go wtf at the reveal is genuinely the funniest fucking thing ever
Showing the drives live
We have a beautiful country, and we like looking at it.
So I'm with Shane
I genuinely want to watch Slow TV because of Shane's list. Nature is basically the only thing I like about living in the USA (so much variety, all beautiful in different ways!), and I have long envied Norway and various other countries for their beautiful nature as well. Getting to see a train route from over there without all the expenses of international travel? So exciting! 😍😍
i remmeber wanting a danny collab for ghost hunting but this is also close enough to the real thing
Spooky boi + ghoul boys omg
What do you mean, this is Danny
i've already posted this in another thread on here but: pretty sure danny has mentioned in one of his reddit videos or maybe the sad boys podcast (i'm not sure where exactly but not on his main channel) that he and the watcher team were discussing doing a ghost hunt together. i've been waiting ever since haha
@@AlinaProbablyI recall the same thing, I can’t place exactly where either. But if it hasn’t been recorded already it probably won’t be for a while because of the baby
@@AlinaProbablyI believe it was in a Reddit video because Watcher tweeted at him and there was a screenshot of it on the Reddit?
The dramatic reality TV editing when Shane reveals his #1 pick is peak comedy, chef's kiss.
I am SO intrigued by Shane’s Slow TV pick. Legitimately, that is something I would enjoy. It’s a niche pick, but there IS an audience (mostly neurodivergent, I’d wager)
I’d judge Shane more if I hadn’t spent years watching POV videos for roller coasters (it’s the closest I get due to being afraid of them).
Brittany Broski mentioned that Shane recommended her slow TV and she watches it wihle being high, with her favorite music on, since slow TV is silent. Ngl that sounds like the chillest time. Nothing guilty about this pleasure haha
I have a tv at work that we put a fireplace video on, I plan on switching it to Slow TV asap lol.
So I’ve been putting on train tv at the bar and it’s been fun as hell. Shane knows what’s up.
It's never occurred to me before that Drew lives on the same planet at the same time as Ryan & Shane so this is blowing my mind
The young and lively oatmeal community is here for you, Shane
ah yes 26 minutes of watching three guys “beating it on location”
My norwegian heart is screaming 😂❤ I loooove that Shane loves our slow TV. We not only do it with trains, but also a big ferry that travels all across Norway - and we also have a live stream over several months which follows an eagle family in their nest, the Rauer family 😂 I guess us Norwegians really love slow pace relaxed TV 😋
Also, sidenote - I was so sure Man Tracker was going to be on someones list 😂 It would def be on mine, I love it.
American here, and I love SlowTV so much too! Also @railcowgirl, who’s a driver on the Bergensbanen and does similar videos; literally the most relaxing thing ever
Yooooooooooo! Mantracker is so good.
Sounds a bit like the swedish show Den stora älgvandringen (The great moose migration). It’s basically a live stream of a bunch of moose’s wandering around.
As a frequent Drew Gooden watcher I can verify that he's always smoking cigarettes while reviewing movies, so much so that I've never actually even seen his face due to the cloud of smoke constantly around it!
why did i read it in Drew's voice??
@@polinakino (i am actually drew dont tell them tho)
Havent seen a comment about the editing so i wanted to take a moment to applaud the editing of this ep which made me double over laughing like letting us know Steven won Family Feud, Steven on a train, and the ZERO RESULTS FOUND for searching "hot cereal" on the wikipedia page for Oatmeal 😂😂😂 chefs kiss editing. Thank you Annie. 😂
Idk, something about Shane and Drew interacting feels like a multidimensional experience
What an absolute treat to have Drew Gooden as a guest. I’m also kinda shocked shows like Maury, Jerry Springer or Judge Judy weren’t on anyone’s list. Maybe they didn’t cut cuz those were the go-to home sick from school shows in the 90s/2000s.
shane's description of southern charm is so correct that it's almost upsetting
fr it was uncanny
The cereal discussion came back briefly so I just have to say, Oatmeal is literally one of the original cereals and why breakfast cereal is even called that. 'Cereal' is literally just edible grass grains...like oats. Processed cereals we eat today are literally just an evolution of oatmeal and similar foods.
I didn't know how badly I needed to see Drew and Shane interact till now
Drew: you DOOFUS
Shane: ☹️
just wanted to give props to whoever is in charge of the subtitles because "the teen wolf theme song bc its a banger idc" made me giggle even before the video started
Lol at what time is this?
@@jessw391literally in the first 10 seconds!! it was funny as hell
@@lesbianslipknotfan oh LOOL thank you
i love how ryan says that the people in terrace house are like so nice and so sweet when the fans made a contestant kill herself and the other contestants proceeded to throw a party during the mourning area 💀
@@gr33ngirlseaYEAH. i’m not even over exaggerating
All the dramatic "reality show sound effects" after Shane reveals Today as his #1 is so hilarious.
shane is so incredibly real for this i sit my ass down and watch like the full today news hour at 10 i used to watch the one at like 2:00 am too
SlowTV (especially the train videos) got me through the pandemic and obsessed with Norway. a++++ pick by Shane from a fellow slowhead
I took that train ride. The scenery is magical.
@@adriennefortune210 That's incredible!!! Maybe I should add it to my bucket list.
Canadian chiming in; hot cereal is necessary in the winter months. Oatmeal is a great breakfast food, especially the ones with Dino Eggs in them
Yeah, Shane won.
He is a very funny youtuber. 10/10 would recommend
i’m not done yet, but Drew and Ryan seemingly just have shows older folks (read, my middle-american middle-aged parents) would watch while I’m actively judging/bewildered by Shane for the content he has consumed and I would expect nothing else
shane’s top 5 are literally just my mothers favorite (not guilty) tv shows. like i’ve probably seen most of the today show bc it was on every morning at her house. i knew what southern charm was immediately bc she talks about it often. they should hang out
I LOVE Jenna and Hoda. They’re the most unhinged morning show hosts I’ve ever seen. My introduction to them was sitting in the waiting room dehydrated and miserable before my hemorrhoidectomy surgery. It feels like watching two friends at brunch. They’re so excited about saying nothing at all. Sometimes they talk to each other about inside stories you have no frame of reference for. You feel like you’re not supposed to be there
Drew is hilarious and I love him. Y’all need to collab with him more often. He needs to go on a ghost hunt.
Shane is sat in a room with people whose job is to find and review weird trash TV, basically experts on the subject and hes absolutely stumping them.
always delighted by a little watcher surprise
They cam hate him, but Shane is the only one on this show who looks deep to find his personal list. And that why it always is the most interesting!
Shane is so real for The Today Show. I've been watching it since I was a kid and I hate it. Can't stop watching 😎
this is literally my dream collab im so happy rn

YESSS, I need them to do an episode about the book, The Secret!
Terrace House absolutely had drama. One episode led to the constant bullying and harassment of wrestler Kimura Hana who later committed suicide.
My number one is Chopped. I get WAY too into it and so invested in the minimal backstory they give for each chef lol
I’m literally obsessed with Alex Guarnaschelli omg. I watch every episode with her!! Such a fun show
Okay but shane is right oatmeal is cereal because if you look up the definition of cereal its "breakfast food made from roasted grain" of which oatmeal totally fits.
I love the vibe that Drew brings to this.
This has the best ending ever 😂 Drew just gave up being diplomatic and just lost it over Shane's #1. 😂 And Eddy next week, too! What treats! 😊😊
(23:30) Oatmeal is the literally definition of a cereal.
#TeamShane
Didn't expect a Ghoul Boys and Dandy Gorgonzola collab but let's go
I am obsessed with Shane’s picks, he did not disappoint, they are insane content to choose to watch
I found Slow TV (or a similar show) on Pluto about 6yrs ago. The winter train rides are the best... especially when eating HOT CEREAL.
I stan for Shane's lists.
