The Turkish delights are enchanted in the book. They don’t make that clear enough in the movie. So in fact .. enchanted Turkish delights do not already exist.
@@CheyenneSeiple My memory is that they magically appear in both the book and the movie - beyond that I don't think there's anything in the book saying that they compelled Edmund in some way, just that they tasted really good.
One thing a lot of people forget is that the book is set in Britain during WWII, so rationing - including for sugar - was in effect. Even if she gave him the worst supermarket tukish delight, it would still be a money can't buy experience for him.

I worked at a pet store once and we frequently had representatives come by for demonstrations. They made us try their canned dog food because the ingredients were human grade and organic. It tasted like regular people food lol but I still didn’t want to eat it.

a lot of people who have tried turkish delight because of that scene in narnia, have almost unanimously agreed that it wasn't worth selling out his siblings for, but I feel like these people also forget that Edmund and the others came straight from a country wracked by a global war. Of course he'd go absolutely wild for these candies, considering he hasn't had anything overly sugary in MONTHS, not to mention that the Witch absolutely put a spell on the candies.
I've also heard that there are places that make turkish delight that is actually good, and that its hard to make it right. So I imagine magically conjured turkish delight would have been the perfect kind. Regardless, that shit in the movie looked DAMN good.
I love Turkish delight. Haven't tasted the real ones from Turkey 🇹🇷, but love the ones from the shop anyway. After all these years of eating them they are still the wonderful treats from the Narnia movie 🙌

They are prey animals prone to flight over fight and bred to be timid and docile. They are not given an opportunity to fight for their lives when they are killed, they are led into a chute where they are restrained and then incapacitated by a shot through the skull, electrocution, or exposure to gas before they are slaughtered. At no point do they know their lives are in danger, so they are defenseless in that situation. I would also consider shooting and killing a sleeping lion from a safe distance to be killing a defenseless animal, since it never has the opportunity to defend itself in that situation.
For me, my number one would definitely be the pizza in All Dogs Go to Heaven when Charlie gets those orphan puppies that pizza and the cheese pulls were absolutely INSANE!! Pizza irl never lived up to the standard that movie set😔

The thing about Turkish Delight…in comparison to Western candy that we all grew up with, it’s not great, BUT remember something, the kid who wants it hasn’t had sugar of any kind for like 2-3 years because of WW2 rationing. It probably did taste like something you might betray your family for.
For me, my dream food is the food that the parents eat before turning into pigs in Spirited Away. Good never looks so amazing as when it’s animated by Studio Ghibli.

I hard agree with the Spirited Away buffet, but I am a huge sweet tooth and good Turkish delight is amazing. You just have to get the real stuff, and the fresher the better. I've had good and bad Turkish delight, and I feel like most people have had stale or imitation Turkish delight.

I watched this like idk a month ago & I was thinking about what I would say to the best fictional foods. I couldn’t think of anything. & I FINALLY remembered a moment as a child watching the classic Willy wonka movie when he takes a bite of the yellow edible cup THAT CRUMBLE SOUND IT MADE, my mouth was watering omg. I imagined it tasted like the best white chocolate in the world. Apparently in reality it was made of wax… 😂

Funnily enough, the one dog treat I've eaten is a Scooby Snack. There was a shop selling them in Six Flags (I think it was like a pop up sorta thing) and they had ones for humans and ones for dogs. The difference between the packaging was tiny so I ended up trying a sample of the dog one first on accident. Surprisingly good and similar to the human one.
