Thank you for providing this guide. After a month of practicing these exercises everyday, I can say that my once bruised tailbone is finally recovered and I don't feel strain/discomfort there anymore :) hope it works for everyone else who had a similar injury to mine!
broke my tailbone bad in a motorcycle crash. Doctor just told me it would be uncomfortable forever. After about 8 months the pain became unbearable when sitting. This video has helped a lot thank you 🙏🏼
I am feeling lass pain now because my tailbone pain came from middle of no where that only happened because I was sitting a long time and this never happened before but I will keep on doing this because this is more safe
Same. Fell asleep on couch, woke up with excruciating pain lower back and tail bone. Hurts to walk and sit, have been getting chills and nauseous. I'm a male, and have never had this before. At times it takes My breath away. I work at furniture delivery and always stretch and do body weight exercise, but this happened when I wasn't working. Fell asleep on crappy little couch and almost went to hospital cus I thought it might have been kidney stones again but this felt alittle different, it's only lower back and tail bone area. With kidney stones it was lower back pain and groin pain, so I knew this was different. Kinda almost feel like this has been worse than kidney stone pain only cus stone pain kinda came in waves, while this is just constant and hurts standing and sitting. Plus in early morning when first started it felt like I had chills and fever slightly. Definitely been freaking me out. Gotta work I'm two days and really hope this will Dissipate
Suffers with tailbone pain since February. I have already done two infiltrations and physiotherapy totally focused on Kegels Exercises. It got worse and worse. I gave up everything, totally frustrating, because besides the pain, everything is very expensive to get treatment and pay for an incorrect treatment. Gratitude for this video Dr. Jo, because this kind of pain is unfortunately ignored by many professionals.
Thanks so so much for this, I’m a highly competitive rhythmic gymnast and I have a competition tomorrow, my tailbone has been sore latley and I wanted to get rid of some of the pain before competing, this helped a lot ❤️
slid down the stairs as a kid about 6 years ago and had pain for over a year until it went away. as of this week the pain has came back like it was 6 years ago, i can’t sit comfortably without making a 😬 face. moral of the story i’m really hoping this helps as i have a fear of going to the doctor!
I fell once, about 30 years ago and broke my tail bone. The tip actually points out, in the opposite direction it should. It would pain me off and on through the years if I sat for too long, but just recently, as I've lost quite a bit of weight over the last year, it has gotten worse. I think that I lost some of my "padding" back there. A week ago I sat up wrong on a doctor's exam table and it has been aggravated ever since. I'm so glad to find this video so I can try something gentle to see if it will help.
Thank you for sharing this information. I've been having tailbone pain for 2 and a half years now, no idea what caused it, didn't injure myself from any accident or fall but I do sit most of the time for work. Hoping to do some of these to relieve the pain as it's incredibly frustrating! Thanks again!
My tailbone pain happened 31 years ago this week while giving birth to our son. Ever since then, I experience random tailbone pain. I do yoga 2-3 times a week which include these exact exercises, but I will now do them more often knowing they should help with my tailbone pain..Thank you for this.
I have started doing tail bone pain exercises yesterday, previously i was squeezing my pelvic floor muscles as advised by physio Hoping your exercises will help
Thank you so much.. This video really help me a lot especially the last move make my hamstringand my tail bone feeling better ... I think I need to start strech my lower body.
I actually subscribed when I had problems with my arms as I had a weak right shoulder and every time I exercised I could feel pain then I also watched your lower back pain video and omg these exercises helped so much. But just recently again I have well so I thought pain in my lower back but it wasn't as I had done lower back exercises and my leg exercises which still didn't work. Then I realised it was my tailbone that was the issue. Omg im so glad yourself and Dr jen have put this video up its helped me so much. Thank you. Much appreciated
Wow! I felt immediately relief!! I want able to do the cat/camel pose due to shine extreme swelling and numbness in my hand. But the lasting position I will be doing daily until I figure out the cause of my pain. Thank you for this video!!🙏🏽🙏🏽
I developed tailbone pain about ten days ago, without any injury preceding the pain. The stretches you recommend are helpful, but I also have uterine prolapse, and do regular kegels and pelvic floor strengthening (prescribed by a therapist), to prevent and reduce urinary urgency/incontinence. Perhaps a few years of regular kegels resulted in the tailbone pain? Not sure how to deal with both issues? Thank you!
Ask your PT for re-evaluation in light of your new symptoms. I have this tailbone misery for 3 months now after an anal fissure. Pelvic floor therapist says my muscles are extreme tense around the tailbone, they try to make me re-learn how to relax them and only after that help me strengthen them (as I understand a continuously contracted muscle is a weak muscle). Good luck for all of us😊
I litterly cried when docter Jen explained what the tail bone was attached to and that all the keegles might not be so helpful. My mind is totally blown. I'm very uncomfortable with moving my body in certain ways because of what has happened to me it never occurred to me that that could cause pain. I will work outside my comfort zone and try these again later.
I noticed how she said tailbone pain doesn't happen overnight. I've never had tailbone pain, I woke up today with some horrible pain. I did these stretches, which helped tremendously. I'm curious how this happens overnight. can this be caused by sleeping in a bad position?
I’ve had tailbone pain for over a year and it came out of no where. But listening to this and thinking back, I was in a pretty intense lift program and I remember having the tightest muscles in my glutes. So maybe that’s why??
I woke up with pretty terrible pain, no previous injury and I can’t sit down or get up without pain, I’ve tried all stretches and pain is not going away or getting better.
Thank for this video, I have immediate relief after doing these exercises. My question is are there any exercises I can do in a work environment ? I work 12 hr shifts with long bouts of sitting, and standing and lots of walking 16k steps in a 12hr shift.
I am almost 2 months post op from a coccyectomy. In serious pain worse than before surgery. I thought years after the break was bad but it doesn't compare to this. My surgeon keeps saying I'm not healed..but every other person's "good coccyectomy removal" story is so short in terms of recovery time. Also am using a cane due to shakiness in my right leg. Have you ever heard anything like this?? I'm almost to the point I regret having surgery!
Unfortunately,, it's different for everyone depending on what your diagnosis is, how long you've had it, and how your body reacts to surgery. So everyone heals at a different rate. If you are not going to physical therapy, it might be good to ask your surgeon for a referral to a PT who specializes in the pelvic floor (sometimes called a Women's Health PT even though they see men and children as well).
So I fell down the stairs and bruised my tailbone a month ago. As a middle aged man, it is SLOWLY getting better but still in pain all the time. My question is this: Lying on my back is the worst and most painful position possible. One, is this normal, and two, I assume I can do the other exercises and skip the floor ones. I did get X-rays and no fracture, just a bad bruise. Thanks in advance for your advice!
I fell down the stairs the other night and my tailbone has been incredibly sore. I've been adjusting my daily activities and want to do these stretches but is there any safe exercise that I can do that won't aggrevate the injury?
