I kid you not I've never come across these exercises and they're actually engaging my pelvic floor muscles and giving me relief from my Sciatica nerve pinch too! Please don't stop the good work!

    I just recently had a hysterectomy and an oophorectomy. Since I was 13 I battled stage 4 endometriosis and had weak pelvic floor muscles. I’m 26 now and found out via IVF and after 8 years of trying to conceive before my surgery that I can never have a baby because calcium was layered on the inside of my uterus. It’s a miracle I haven’t died from an accident when I became paralyzed from the waist down or when I had blackouts, but I look forward to physical therapy. Practicing some of the exercises in hopes of functioning better without the scar tissue pain.

There aren't any pelvic floor specialists in my area, are there exercizes safe to do for both a tight and a loose pelvic floor?

    • @LadySpacey
      @LadySpacey 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Princesskeywest yes, I found through trial and error and water is really the only thing that didn't hurt my bladder. After babying my bladder for a while and making sure I was clean 'down there' I started recovering. I also have been doing these stretches and things have gotten a bit better. It is only when I don't drink water for multiple days, instead eating things like candy or having soda/energy drinks only, does it start to flare up again. So, point being, hang in there, it just takes some adjusting. Also, get checked for any vaginal infections as well, as they can cause UTI symptoms as a side effect due to not being treated.

      Look into interstitial cystitis. I have this, it mimics all the symptoms of a uti, with no infection!!! If drinking a whole gallon of water can help ease the pain then I’d say you have this!!

    For the exercise where you have the ball and you're pushing your feet out on the floor.... Is it ok if you slightly lift your hips up? I have a hard time telling if I'm pushing out on my feet and I feel like when I lift my hip slightly it allows more weight on the feet which makes it easier to do the push-out. ?? Thank you very much.

      Cindy...I also found a physio therapist that specializes in pelvic floor problems, thank goodness.....has helped with understanding overactive bladder (since my 30's), few months ago I was diagnosed with mild pelvic floor & bowel prolapse (gradually worsening over last few years. I am 71 now)..& occasional leakage. Therapist has periodically had me keep urinary frequency diary, bowel movements, liquid/types & frequency intake..all on a simple chart. She has worked with me progressively incorporating exercises (same or similar to ones on this & other dr Jo videos), & perhaps most useful so far are tips & tricks for double voiding to completely empty bladder when urinating, tips to change urgency pattern over time (reprogram nervous system ) Anyway....I found my urgency signals lessening...except with over the top caffeine levels from coffee....my prolapse/strength of pf have improved.....Best of all...I am beginning to sleep 4-5 hours in a row before getting up to urinate (formerly about only 2 hours). My goal in asking doc for pf exam....was that I knew something was not right, not toned, heavy bulky sensations in vagina/pelvic area...she suggested pelvic floor physio. I had never heard of it, I am grateful, because I really, really want to keep prolapse from getting worse...DO NOT want to have medical intervention or surgery if at all possible
