Here we go, I hope you enjoyed this series! The next two videos are going to be from Finland, where I'm going sailing on a tiny dinghy, before we get back to Lumi and Alaska... Thanks for watching!
Nice series. My dream is for sure not Polar region sailing, but I can see the attraction, all that undisturbed beautiful nature. I am so sorry for your loss! Of drone, that is. You could consider to buy a waterproof one next, that can actually land on water. At least would never sink and be sea trash that way.
Yes! So glad I found your channel. THIS is exactly what I have been trying to convince my wife, son, and a few friends to do - combining sailing with ski touring (and, in remote places like this, probably some packrafting too). So excited to see you are making it work, and it makes me just want to jump in the boat and sail north! Logistics question - what time of year did you do this? Looks like perhaps springtime - maybe April or May?
Sorry you lost the drone. You can try adding a foam board to the bottom of the drone so that it can still float if it falls into the sea. After reacquiring the drone, you can soak it in fresh water, remove the salt and dry it. If you have a chance, you can use it again.
I met a guy who has a yacht, he rigged up a remote control (like literally for model airplanes etc), to his rudder and throttle, so he could be anywhere on the boat (or even on the dock) and control the boat. - very handy for single-handed docking and probably for being your own bow spotter...
Absolutely amazing video, great scenery, flawless videography, incredible skiing, experienced sailing! I think this is the best sailing channel by far!
This is rapidly becoming one of the best ‘sailing’ channels out there! The combination of superb filming, excellent production and wonderful narration is second to none. Long may it continue.
Juho! You are our hero. We both worked in the ski industry for years, now live aboard our sailboat, working our way toward cruising. What a great combination. Hail to all water people! (Snow is just frozen water...) Beautiful episode.
Wonderful episode. So much wildlife. We're very impressed with the respect to gave the fish. Very easy just to forget that they deserve their lives just as much as we do. We love your videos.
Remarkable to think the first video you revealed this vessel, after neglect and years of the bird poop, and where she's taking you today! Great job for all the work to get her this capable. I spent some time Around Petersburg so your scenic shots are giving me great memories. So happy you had some good skiing.
That was a great series it covered the full spectrum of all emotions from drama to humor and aesthetically pleasing views of scenery landscapes to wildlife Truly Breathtaking
I honestly do not know what is the most impressive: 1. Your sailing skills 2. Your skiing skills 3. Your camera/drone skills Kudos to you! I’m obsessed with your channel now by the way 😂 ❤ ☮️ Edit: I commented halfway through the video because I can’t help myself, but regardless, you are still a badass with the drone! Also, thank u for leaving the part where you fell! Definitely something we all do! You owned it though! 😂😊 keep doing you!
Juho...being alone as you were, you actually took the viewer along with you as first mate. Your video was spectacular in scenery and weather. I am now officially addicted to your fine filming and unbelievable content. Your soft describing voice reminds me of Gusteau. Thanks for filming such an incredible journey. I am not too sure I could do what you do, especially for 30 days. Be well, and get some good beer for your next journey!?*
I feel that nature speaks to something deep in our caveman soul. It is so deeply satisfying. Bush camp regularly in Australia without any people, just love it. Seeing all this snow and beautiful scenery is such a treat though.❤❤❤ Edit: Life is too short to drink bad beer.
you never cease to turn up with a beautiful video when i am depressed and alone, well not alone but stuck looking after our 3 dogs and goat here in brittany while my girlfriend is on a bender. I wish I could support you but times are hard living off grid at the moment. Great work!!
Your videos are so enjoyable…so well paced, interesting, intelligent, adventurous and unique…great cinematography and genuine personal natural commentary. Thank you.
Excellent that you show your troubles and challenges - near loss of 360° camera, stumble at end of skiing, loss of drone. We all have struggles, you take these events with good humor and no exaggerated drama. lol cheers to the lost drone !!
Great story telling and video. This is such a gift to us older folks, living vicariously through your adventures.Thank you. I especially like your our skiing adventures.
I just watched an $18 Million dollar show on Netflix (One Piece) and this was 1,000 times better. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us and can't wait til the next episode. 😊
i think that fish was black rock fish they call it black bass, so there shouldnt be any restrictions on that. again so nice scenery and really good story telling !! 👍👍
I watch many sailing vloggers, and this channel is right up there with the very best. Brilliant filming and editing, and skiing too. Sailing, fishing, nature and skiing - these tick everyone of my boxes.
Very inspiring and skilled sailor. Thanks so much for the insights in sailing in these areas! Really looking forward to watching this new video now. ☺️
I loved the tour of Alaska bays. Your becoming my favor sail Channel. The skiing was crazy. The work you put in walking up a mountain for a few minures of down hill. Love it.
This looks like too much fun! Sailing around snowy mountains and skiing to your hearts content, obviously the weather can be not ideal but when it's nice, it's sweet living. RIP drone.
Ever worry about Grizzly Bears. I’ve heard Grizzlies find Finns to be delicious! And they are extra hungry in the Spring, after a long hibernation. Even black bears can be attracted to the smell of shrimp in your dingy and bite a hole in it, leaving you stranded on shore…
You remind me of a guy I used to scuba dive with in Aotearoa. He would say "I can't go deeper than 10 metres this morning because I am doing a parachute jump this afternoon.". Scuba diving and skydiving - the guy must have had a death wish. So here you are - solo yachting in testing conditions, with alpine climbing and skiing thrown in. No-one around to pick you up when you fall!
Fantastic mate, love all you guys do. Cooking, fishing, skiing, exploring, sailing .... your really sailing lifestyle channel .... do whatever you want .... its all good. I think this is the 3rd time I have watched your 30 day solo series.
La dolce vita !!! (as they say in Finnish) You are living the dream of many and are wealthier than can be measured. This is excellent, thoroughly enjoyable content that just begs for there to be more, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
You don't always have to have something "profound" to say.... Showing us this part of the world is enough. I find myself involuntarily saying WOW to myself several times in every video....
Another great video! You do such a great job capturing the essence of an area, and love all the wildlife. This was an amazing journey you had. Looking forward to more!
Bad luck with the drone. I suspect that launching on the lee side with all the wash from the sails created a pocket of dead air that had insufficient lift. Maybe need to launch from up wind side? Pity because that little done had produced some amazing images for you!
I love watching your films Juho, very inspiring, I have a 30ft cat, just big enough for me, I have a month off work and have spent the last 7 days working on SV On Leave, hopefully I will weigh anchor in another few days and get in some sights for my own channel, much love and respect from Australia 🇦🇺 🙏✌️😉
You are amazing, ive followed you for months now & you ALWAYS provide insights, entertainment, awesome videos & videotography. An absolute pleasure is what you are !!!! Go finland !!!!❤❤❤❤❤
One of your best videos to date. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! for taking us along. Beautiful country that I'm quite sure I'll never get to and you showed us around in such an interesting way. By the way; I'm a Forester of a 40 years career and I understand how the camera distorts and flattens terrain images. That was some steep, rugged terrain through really nasty brush. Respect, man. Respect.❤
Hell you say: not sexy!!! Bushwhacking and skiing uphill for a while in order to catch the downhill flight is as sexy as it gets, me thinks (unless of course you do it sans clothing). I guess your mileage may very but skirting brambles and brown grizzles is very daring if you ask me. Just saying. You’re the bomb, Juho. Courage personified.
Hi hi I’ve been enjoying your journeys for some time know it must have been quite lonely on the boat for 30 days I can imagine the silence on your boat at night amazing, well i hope you both well and I look forward to the next videos, good luck from Sam is my nickname, Oh make sure you don’t forget the cookies chocolate good beer and a drone 😀😀
Juho, you embody and explore all the dreams that most of us who love Nature would love to have! Congratulations! PS I have done similar less extensive camping trips in a skiff in SE Alaska where I wished I could have had a boat like yours.
a wonderful vlog again with such amazing droneshots even if you think the drone was not that goed, what you got out of it cinematically is just faboulus….your 30 days jouney was a pleasure follow….always so much joy to watch, you give us a chance to see a world we can not visit ourselfs, thanks for this
this reminds me of leisurely sailing through the archipelago of Stockholm at the and of August with no particular destination in mind...every moment becomes quietly important..
I watch sailors in the warm water a lot but you got balls and I love watching your video,s. I bet you felt at home in Astoria as half that town is Finnish folks. Keep up the good sailing. I commerciald fished for 30 years. Out of Astoria and Kodiak among other places. Good job.
Не знаю какими вы себя ощущаете но для меня вы одни из самых реализованных счастливых свободных и умеющих радоваться жизни семья. Успехов удачи здоровья.
I love your rules for the channel comments. Your skills as a videographer are getting better and better. I had to laugh (empathetically) at your drone loss. Same thing happened to me…it’s like “UURGH! that’s not supposed to happen!”
Glad the dramatic music didn't get the better of you - and as usual we appreciate the trouble you go to to get so many shots when the going gets tough!
Your travels are fascinating, and your ability to video them is excellent. But what I’d like to ask is how you achieved your command of American English? Your usage of colloquial Americanisms is way beyond language school learning. Cheers!
Thank you for your beautiful videos. I have been trailer sailing/cruising from the midwest of USA for 30 years. I am hopefully 2 years away from retirement and fixing up a 26 ft bluewater sailboat (again on a trailer) that I hope to sail in the Caribbean, and maybe cross the Atlantic to sail some places in Europe. Your illustrations of a broad variety of sailing topics is helpful to me. Your calm approach to tricky situations is inspirational also. Its easy to recognize your deep and broad sailing skills. Several people have recommended the western Canadian coast, and your video is more motivation. Who knows, maybe I will have enough healthy years to sail that region also. Fair Winds, EnglishSailors.
Here we go, I hope you enjoyed this series! The next two videos are going to be from Finland, where I'm going sailing on a tiny dinghy, before we get back to Lumi and Alaska... Thanks for watching!
I drank a very good beer, as it has been a very good series.
Nice series. My dream is for sure not Polar region sailing, but I can see the attraction, all that undisturbed beautiful nature. I am so sorry for your loss! Of drone, that is. Water 💦
I don't even sail and it is my favorite channel.
Sorry you lost the drone. You can try adding a foam board to the bottom of the drone so that it can still float if it falls into the sea. After reacquiring the drone, you can soak it in fresh water, remove the salt and dry it. If you have a chance, you can use it again.

I think this is the best sailing channel by far!
Very generous of you, well done you.
You are spot on.
This is rapidly becoming one of the best ‘sailing’ channels out there! The combination of superb filming, excellent production and wonderful narration is second to none. Long may it continue.
My kids fall asleep to your videos. The narration is so peaceful and calming. Thank you for what you do.
Juho! You are our hero. We both worked in the ski industry for years, now live aboard our sailboat, working our way toward cruising. What a great combination. Hail to all water people! (Snow is just frozen water...) Beautiful episode.
@sailingkind: when is your website going to be up and running? just wondering. looking for kindred spirits! peace
Snow is just frozen water!
Best editing: the cut from your little tumble on skis to the eagle, shaking out his tail feathers - unexpected, perfect!
I feel so privileged to be invited along for the trip! Thank you!
Wonderful episode. So much wildlife. We're very impressed with the respect to gave the fish. Very easy just to forget that they deserve their lives just as much as we do. We love your videos.
And how did he respect the fish? By eating it?
lol!
Great shots from this trip. Sorry you lost the drone. I admire the positive attitude.
Unbelievable!! You are the best. Thanks for the videos John Rusatsky
Remarkable to think the first video you revealed this vessel, after neglect and years of the bird poop, and where she's taking you today! Great job for all the work to get her this capable. I spent some time Around Petersburg so your scenic shots are giving me great memories. So happy you had some good skiing.
Sorry you lost your drone. Great scenery in this video. Thank you for taking us along.
Makes me wonder if you can add flotation to a drone to keep it afloat if a problem occurs?
@@dr.coole.i have seen drones that can take off from water
Dude you are on the top of the list of the greatest explorers!
Total respect! Hands down!
Spectacular scenery! I just love your deadpan dry sense of humor 😅. You really made me laugh out loud. Thanks for bringing us along.
That was a great series it covered the full spectrum of all emotions from drama to humor and aesthetically pleasing views of scenery landscapes to wildlife Truly Breathtaking
I honestly do not know what is the most impressive:
1. Your sailing skills

Whales, orcas, bears, seals, otters, sea lions, mountain goats. Nice!
I'm rather impressed by your vertical ascents prior to skiing down!
Skiing from your boat..amazing! Your channel is one of a kind! Keep up the fabulous work 👏
Man your skills and creativity, I’m in awe. You are a wise wizard at sailing, skiing and cinematography.
I feel that nature speaks to something deep in our caveman soul. It is so deeply satisfying. Bush camp regularly in Australia without any people, just love it. Seeing all this snow and beautiful scenery is such a treat though.❤❤❤
Edit: Life is too short to drink bad beer.
Just a little Hallo from Denmark. Thanks for the Youbes :)
Good thing you are from Finland, you understand Alaskan weather 🌧️❄️
Life choices done right.
We feel your pain having lost a drone from our boat this morning too! Great video as always!
So please that you are pleased with yourself over your Seward docking. Enjoyed the seals, otters, killer whales, and black bear. Stay safe.
you never cease to turn up with a beautiful video when i am depressed and alone, well not alone but stuck looking after our 3 dogs and goat here in brittany while my girlfriend is on a bender. I wish I could support you but times are hard living off grid at the moment. Great work!!

A magical experience never to be forgotten. And all on video for everyone to enjoy. Thanks so much for sharing. Hurry back.
Sorry for your lost, man...😪
All that brush looks like a good place for ticks!
How to get, and stay fit: Go skiing with this guy!
The longer you’re on a location the more likely you will get the “money shot” picture and this guy never fails
Excellent that you show your troubles and challenges - near loss of 360° camera, stumble at end of skiing, loss of drone.
We all have struggles, you take these events with good humor and no exaggerated drama. lol
cheers to the lost drone !!
WoW!! Port of Seward has really Grown.
Great story telling and video. This is such a gift to us older folks, living vicariously through your adventures.Thank you. I especially like your our skiing adventures.
Beautiful images, wild life and journey you have shared with us...thank you so much
That orca tailflip at 29.14, it's like it's just learning to swim, flopping it's tail above the surface like that :D Amazing
I just watched an $18 Million dollar show on Netflix (One Piece) and this was 1,000 times better. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us and can't wait til the next episode. 😊
Excellent video and thanks for, after losing the drone, not whining, swearing, yelling, etc.
O Captain! My Captain!
i think that fish was black rock fish they call it black bass, so there shouldnt be any restrictions on that. again so nice scenery and really good story telling !! 👍👍
Дякую за прекрасне відео та краєвиди
You ski well. Brave explorer being single handed.
Magnificent scenes and excellent photography!! Your videos are getting better and better. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
SNL does some pretty funny skits on the Swiss. But this guy is amazing - highly skilled. Very capable. Love the accent and his humor.
Congratulations for these 30 days.
Love the Tranquil peace you're experiencing in such a beautiful environment.
I agree ... you didn't break your rule ... 30 alone ... can't control others
Wow Alaska looks completely beautiful 😍
I loved the tour of Alaska bays. Your becoming my favor sail Channel. The skiing was crazy. The work you put in walking up a mountain for a few minures of down hill. Love it.
This looks like too much fun! Sailing around snowy mountains and skiing to your hearts content, obviously the weather can be not ideal but when it's nice, it's sweet living. RIP drone.
I’m sorry I can’t afford to be a patron but have been following your channel fo;r years and your attitude and self confidence is truly inspiring

definitely not cheating using the drone to scout for your passage. Very smart move. love the wildlife footage, especially the goats.
You're my favorite sailing channel, thank you.

Outstanding Job getting all that footage along the way, that took an enormous effort on your part and it wasn't wasted on me. Great Work.
Saw a nice boat in Seward today. Looked familiar.
Bad luck with the drone. I suspect that launching on the lee side with all the wash from the sails created a pocket of dead air that had insufficient lift. Maybe need to launch from up wind side? Pity because that little done had produced some amazing images for you!
OK.. I'm doing Ice Cream... 😀 Thank you Juho... 🙏
Awesome sailing channel. Combines three of my favorite things, Alaska, sailing, skiing. Beautiful videography, simply narrated, very well done!
Beautiful photography and such a lovely area to use it!

Stunning scenery and perfectly captured as always. Keep doing this!
congratulations on a successful journey. As always, you have produced another beautiful video for us to enjoy. I watched it twice! Thank you!

On your next trip.
Excellent, heartwarming, and photographically so well done. I love these episodes very much.
Juho, you embody and explore all the dreams that most of us who love Nature would love to have! Congratulations! PS I have done similar less extensive camping trips in a skiff in SE Alaska where I wished I could have had a boat like yours.
Your understated humor is marvelous like icing on the cake of excellent videography. Thank you for sacrificing your drone for us.

16:18 I was waiting for another majestic shot of a bald eagle pooping lol :D
As allways great video, thanks for sharing.... Sorry for the drone....

Amazing scenery and an unbelievable scenery. Do you ever get worried being out in such wilderness alone?

while riding the bow anchor in those winds perhaps try deploying a sea anchor off the transom to buffer the boat movement
Great story and appreciate the approach you have to this type of lifestyle. Inspiring!
