Love my 2022 GoldWing Tour...Going on 10,000 miles in my 1st year with no long tours..!! Just love to ride it every day I can. At 74 years old..It is my passion.!!!
Hilarious working at a motorcycle dealership. Anybody that has never ridden one has NO IDEA of the brutal spaceship power delivery and tech. They eat stage 3 HD CVOs like candy and they almost are too good to be considered a motorcycle. Such a phenominal and powerful package out of the box. Suprises 90% of riders on their first ride.
Couldn’t have said it better. I call my Goldwing 21 manual a Harley killer lol. Honestly you gotta it before you knock it. It truly is the best bagger on the market. Just ride it and you’ll see the hype.
Weight to power ratio doesn't compare favorably to most options. I'll take your "brutal spaceship power" vs my R1250RS any fing day. Too good to be considered a motorcycle? WTF? Hyperbolic much? No way is this a Rocket 3. Completely different mindset.
I’ve been riding Goldwings since the early 80s I’ve owned every size Honda has made and I’ve owed a few Harleys and rode many other brands Goldwing is by far hands down the best on the road from power, performance, comfort to dependability
As a 6 year old in the early 70’s, I remember looking at the original Honda line up: Gold wing 1000, CB 750/4, CB400/4. I dreamt of a 400/4 as I thought the Gold wing would be too big for me. 50 years later I still think it’s to big (although I did get the own a 400/4 in my early 20,s) Great review. Love the channel. You’ll soon be at 100k subs.
I still have my 550 four bought new in '75 though it needs a lot of TLC to get back on the road. I rode regularly in the late '70s with a buddy who had the first Wing in 1975. Interestingly enough though worlds apart my '18 has a lot of that original DNA both being horizontally opposed shaft driven bikes.
Can’t remember a bike review that you looked like you had so much fun! You were laughing and giggling all the way through. Think the Goldwing is motorcycle Crack, one hit and you’re hooked straight away!! 😁👍🏻
I have the 2021 version in the states. This thing is an absolute GEM of a bike! Handling is superior, reliable, functional, and SPORT mode is just BONKERS! love it! well done!
I took delivery of my Wing (Tour) in March of this year. I have fallen in love with it and ride it every day. Next year we (Wife and I) are taking it to Italy. Should have some fun on the Amalfi coast road!
Nice to see you giving it a bit of welly, has the sound of an older water cooled 911 or Boxster to it, which given the engine design would make sense. Amazing bit of engineering!
I've gotten 57 MPG on an hour long loop through the back roads of Howard County, MD in 7th gear at 45-50 MPH. My 10,000 mile average is 47 MPG. Not that I'm concerned about the MPG too much but I wanted to see how well she would do if I tried to maximize the MPG on a short loop. The reverse gear saved my bacon on a road I found that turned into a single lane gravel route with a high crown. I may not have been able to pull off the 3 point turn without it. The breeze with the short screen completely raised is about the same as my Cobra convertible and though I didn't think much of the adjustable screen I use it all of the time. Have to admit I wanted the manual but needed the reverse being an old dude and the bagger only came with reverse with the DCT. Hated the DCT at first and now have come to love it though I use manual mode most of the time. As most of us do I still lust after new bikes all the time but will be hard pressed to ever part with this one.
Fagan & Mossey from 44Teeth did a great feature. Battle of the Baggers Goldwing v K1600 lands end to john ogroats in 48hrs and even went around knockhill on em and going the wrong way around the track😂 Now ive been a big fan of the Tmax If you've never rode one i encourage you to try one. Yes Chopsy! Great to see the GL1800 added to your vast library of videos. I love how you started out not certain if you would like it, and later you were laughing inside your helmet. Brilliant. One of the first (massively appealing) things I picked up on was the sound from that engine! A bit of Kool & The Gang through the village 😂 A bike I would definitely consider, and when the Tour is an extra £5k 😳 the standard featured here could be the one. It may not be the video many had expected, but I'm sure it's opened people's minds to big laid-back bikes. Great work once again 👏👏👏
I have that version from 2021 here in the states, the bagger, not bagger. It's a joy to own. Prior to this, I had an SV650 for puttering around, but wanted something with some storage and a bit of weather protection. You don't see many of these around my way (mostly Harleys, been down that road already) so I figured it would be a fun and unique bike. It was a choice between this and a GS A for me, and since I don't have the funding or time to go do the Pan-Am highway run or tour Alaska via the ALCAN, the 'wing was the right choice. FWIW, even with the DCT, it's fine at low speeds in lots and stop and go and crawl traffic.
I'm 50 and have owned the same 1200 goldwing since I was 20 plus a 1500 for a few years. I Took the usual flack over the years but unless you've ridden one, you won't get what it's about. Quite often taking the smirk off my friends faces when they tried to compete.
Bought a DCT Tour in 2020. Took it back when the engine paint started coming off at first wash. They offered to replace the cylinder head....er, NO! £28k bike, needs to have been perfecto. Got a full refund after much pain dealing with your favourite dealer, Wheels. Will never go back to them that's for sure. I'm sure they're fine when things go well, but instead of selling me a replacement they tried to hang me out. Anyway, in the meantime I just decided that my testosterone level was still a little too much for a bike like that. You were completely correct when you said it's not a bike for scratching the back roads. Overtaking has to be carefully planned because it feels fast, but it's not. A 1290 S - never have to think about overtakes, it just does it, the Goldwing needs more care. More care means it's a bit dull (for me at least). I liked that you can pootle along at 2mph and my wife loved the back seat but also thought it was dull compared to the rush of the 1290. Not really comparable bikes, I know that, but if you've got blood in your veins I doubt you'll appreciate the Goldwing as it's for cruising and mile munching, not for adrenaline production.
Well done. Finally a review that doesn't describe the wing as 'agile'! You mention tmf, in his video of why he likes his wing everything he says is what he doesn't like about bikes. Massive smooth engine, like a car. Dct, like a posh car. Huge presence, like a car. Comfort and wind protection, like a car. Massive dashboard, like a car...I'm convinced an RT or GS would get me to the Alps just as quick in relative comfort and be much more fun once there.
I own a chopped down 90 version totally stripped and its way up there in the mileage 10068 k one rebuild and it’s ticking like a clock .the mileage I get is awesome and has and will continue to serve me well .peace
Great video! Hopefully the garage studio is done soon. In late 2018 I purchased a 2019 Goldwing DCT Tour and put about 30k miles over three years. It's a fantastic machine. The TPMS light, the yellow one on the dash early in the video is common on cold days until the tires warm.
Had that going off all the time when I got my '22 GW about 4 months ago. Tire pressure for both tires is 36 PSI and if it's cold and the TPMS sensor sees a 35 that light is guaranteed to annoy you. Keep mine aired up to 38-ish and never see it any more.
Looking forward to the K16 vids. Purchased one earlier in the year, fantastic bike for two's up, better than my previous GSA for touring, smoother and more predictable in tight manouvring such as hairpins than the boxer. These bikes are a pain below walking speed, thankfully fantastic on the road.
The last 3 generations of Goldwings have been outstanding. The 2022 looks amazing, and is a performer. The only major glaring problem with Goldwings in general is that none of them have a proper overdrive transmission. Consumers need to start demanding better gear ratios. None of the Goldwings have ever been geared for sustained highway speeds, they are geared only for city driving at 55mph or less. When going 70mph, people are always "searching for another gear" because the engine is running around 3,400 rpm, where it should only be about 2,000 rpm, or less. The 1800cc 6 cylinder engine has so much torque, it's a long stroke engine, it should be turning at very low RPM. What engineer would gear a highway touring bike with a close ratio racing transmission with no overdrive? Did they "forget" the overdrive gear for the last 40 years? No, they didn't forget. They are intentionally giving people the wrong gear ratios, preventing people from having a motorcycle that gets incredible fuel economy, longer oil change intervals and significantly longer engine life. There appears to be some type of secret treatise, where manufacturers gear motorcycles incorrectly, and strangely, consumers have just willingly praised all the Japanese motorcycles, despite them being geared wildly low.
Beautiful sound! Bit of a BBW of the bike world if you ask me. I'm curious enough to try one, but don't think I'd want to wake up with it every morning 😂
Worth making the point that you can ride this as totally a manual bike using the paddles in 'manual mode', rather than just using it to go down gear before an overtake while in auto. You might ask well why would you? It's a DCT so use the DCT, but it can be a bit of fun now and again to put in manual and go up and down the gears when you want to rather than when Mr Honda decides that you should. Apart from that, I agree most of what you are saying. I really like my 2022 Goldwing Bagger, sorry Non-Tour! Matt blue as well. For 2023 its dark grey only. Take it or leave it.
Great video and thanks for taking time to show us. I have a 2017 Honda NC750X that is like the Goldwing you showed. One important thing with those wings, if like my NC750, when the bike is off, it is in neutral and that hand break is a must. A Goldwing is the best bike (up to me). In August and September, I have done 3 Iron Butt rides (one 1600km and two 2000km) and I found out that over 20 hours on the wings is not a hard thing.
@@LambChopRides 🤔😅🤣😂 I agree 50% , the other cheating mode is using my Garmin GPS (with Basecamp route made), my Ipod (for music), my heating vest, my rice Kripies bag and my pepsi bottle in the rear trunk. ha ha ha and by the way, my SpotWalla app following me and tracking my route. I have done 2 rides where I lost my camara and had no proof, I forgot my mid point receipt, but my third ride, I found out SpotWalla that I used on my third ride and one ride prior that got mixed up (but that's another story). You have a great bike and it looks super.
@@rebeccaharris2273 I think anyone can drive a Goldwing, but remember this is a heavy bike. The advantage with older wings, you could set the height of the bike, but with the new ones, it's not as easy. If this is not your first bike, it might be OK, but try and sit on an older and one newer Goldwing to see the difference and how can it be better for you. Usually in stores, they will have both Wings and the keys to permit you to test the height of the seat and the weight to control. Good luck in your choices, keep your hair in the wind and rubber on the ground.
Chopsey , you are brilliant.. lol What a great review, did you notice the hazards flashing when breaking hard and you put the cruise control on when turning the stereo down.. lol Ps: i think the Wing has linked brakes :) If you want to try a fun DCT , Africa twin is superb :)
I'm stuck here in midwinter New England and I have to say your video got me my wind therapy! Very good job on the video and music ha ha. After many years riding the manual shifters I got a 23 GW DCT bagger and being 6'4" I find the bike is great fun and so much more comfortable compared to the 26"H Indian seat and the 32"H KTM 1290 SuperAdventure. Ok so I may be a Goat but this bike is fun, cruiserish and Tour capable. Don't think I'll go back to the clutch/foot work. Keep up the good work and ride happy!
I once saw a middle aged man wearing a jacket with leather tassels on the sleeves ride a gold wing into a petrol station with the stereo blaring born to be wild. Absolutely horrendous 😆 😆
At nearly 68 years old ,DCT allowed me to continue riding all be it an Africa Twin it looks after me and I love riding it . I suffer from the effects of back surgery and arthritis issues without DCT I would have long stopped riding if I had the money your on my bike of choice age made me see bikes from a different perspective
That’s exactly how to review the Goldwing, absolutely the best overview I’ve seen thus far. You truly “Got Down on It” and I’ve been waiting years to see someone do so; I expect most can imagine how it’ll plod about.... Thinking I’m ready for a GW and this will probably put me over the top, however WTF is Honda thinking painting them matt colors? How can the demographic studies indicate that? It’s beyond me and continues too put me off one, they look unfinished and will look far worse 6 months down the road with assorted surface scratches and can’t be repaired. I hope they’re not looking to hook HD buyers/riders. Thank you for sharing and keep up the wonderful reviews!!
I agree with you. The Honda 2023 color choices suck. Mine is a 2021 non-tour DCT. Best bike ever! Last one was a Yamaha FJR. The GL1800 BD outshines it, despite the higher weight. Its not as nimble, but it isn't so tough in the twisties once you gain experience. In every way the GL1800 is the ultimate riding experience.
@@allenmurray6393 I have an FJR, great bike but looking for a bit more comfort and that fabulous flat six smoothness, weight be dammed at this point. At my age reverse and a DCT is looking mighty fine also, but, as stated I don’t think Honda’s getting my money until they actually lose all that matt paint slathered on it. I want my bikes shiny and able to be polished if/when necessary; I called American Honda to expressed this and the POC I spoke with agreed, said he’d push it up to Marketing management. If enough people bitch it might just happen, just hope it’s before I lose interest. Cheers.
Where about in the isle of Wight are you going i go every year love it there ,looking forward to more videos couldn't stop laughing when you was playing music through the village lol
Saw the bagger in the flesh at the NEC .. really really nice. If I could afford one I'd have one in a heartbeat. Fabulous 👌 hello from Tipperary Ireland 😁
Something a bit different, nice to see diversity in your testing . I’ve personally always bulked a bit at the weight of these bikes , riding OK but how are they really in the tight car park ?. Looking forward to more 👍. Thanks Bud for the great video.
Saw the title and nearly deleted it from my notifications as I'm not a Goldwing fan, but man that made me laugh. Absolutely hilarious review and I've found myself wanting to test ride one now!! Can't wait for the follow ups on this and the BM with Greg.
I rode a 2021 model, they really do shift if you want them to, supremely comfortable If I could actually stump up the readies at 61 years of age I’m that zone (old 🤣) I’d probably have one……….never say never. Nice review Chops hope the insta camera wasn’t permanently damaged👍
Entertaining review Chops. Good to know you can really rag a Goldwing lol. You should've "borrowed" TMF's while he was in Alaska & done a Ferris Bueller on it lol. Looking forward to Greg's solo debut & your joint vid after that.
@@LambChopRides ....actually it could do with some more miles on it - as I've said before, it's your's whenever you want to borrow it, see how the superior Tour version suits you on a cold winters day with it's brilliant heated seats....
Loved this review, I have been looking at a lot of Goldwing videos as I am thinking about making the move from my 2019 Harley Road Glide Special and this is the best one so far. I love the spirited riding rather than just the normal plodding around. The size does not worry me as I think weight wise its less than my Harley. I think I would go for the tour version and look for a quick release option for the trunk that way keeping the 'extras' the tour has but the option to go 'bagger naked' lol Just gotta find somewhere where I can test ride a DCT one now ;)
I don't think you'd regret making the switch.... and you can go with either the DCT manual or the traditional manual if you get the full kitted Gold Wings, it's only the Bagger type without the top box that can now only be had with the DCT manual.... unless you don't care about finding one used that is, because the slightly older bagger type Wings were available in traditional manual still.....but finding a used Wing with less than 100k miles is sometimes a chore 😅 these things get ridden and they last for hundreds of thousands of miles and people don't let them sit.
Nice one chops , not my cup of tea either I'm afraid , but for touring big distances on decent roads !!probably one of the best out there. Hearing the music blasting out I nearly dropped my just dipped chocolate hobnob 😁😁😁😁👍👍
If you're going to the Isle of Wight, don't forget to go for a blast down the Military road, just be careful of people pulling out of the side roads, lost a couple of buddies on that road.
Proced the Gold Wing video with an entry video of you wheeling your SMC-R down the road….talk about juxtaposition🤪! But when you turned on the sound system I nearly blew my morning coffee out my nose laughing 😆😆😆👍!
The creep reverse is a good thing. But I'd rather have a Rocket 3 R, even though it doesn't have one. I'd rather change gear myself, too. The Rocket is better value. A much more spirited review than the usual Goldwing one.
I think the Beemer takes it on the looks like the Glide etc. One thing I think both could have done better was maybe make the screen brackets more transparent as those black lines are hella annoying.
The boxer engine does sound good when you accelerate quickly. I have a Subaru legacy car with a boxer engine and it has a growl and roar on fast acceleration.
Dude, you crack me up!! Bit disappointed not to see any wheelies or backing it in but can settle for caning it down the nadgery twisty road and the air over the bridge. Loving a bit of Kool And The Gang, maybe Shalamar or Shakatak on the next one. I’m 54 and can totally relate with your opinions of various bikes. I’ve been looking at a Transcontinental to go with the 1250GSA but just can’t bring myself to do it!!
Hello Chops .... I think the warning light you had on dashboard is tyre pressure warning /check ..... love your videos and you are doing garage same as mine .... man cave
My Honda "automatic" car has flappy paddles which when you put it in sports mode turns it into a "manual", which I really enjoy. However, give me the interaction of a clutch and gear lever (not a quick shifter) on a motorbike anyday.
Looks lovely bit large sounds nice 😀, For technology lovers could be great, for me I'm happy just by turning the key press the starter and away we go well that's what normally happens , 😊
Rumour has it, Eddie Stobart is going to start using these 😂 Good review though, made me smile. But not the sort of thing I’d ever own, nor is the BMW.
Thanx chops great review as always. Been thinking of the goldwing and the bmw k1600 as also in me 50s ...so very interested in the face off of the 2...BTW have you link to your mates page for the bm?
Can't wait for Gregorio's, and then the comparison. Wouldn't have either of these as an only bike, but as a dedicated tourer and for fussy pillions (of which I have three!), they look promising!
I have a 2021 ultra Harley woth 20k miles wife and I ride a lot. We see nothing but Harley’s here. My Harley has stage 2 setup. Wonder if the dct goldwing smoke my Harley? And much better bike??
Haha your living the dream on the Goldwing Chops and I bet your going to fall for the Honda, must admit I can certainly see the attraction for huge touring and the six cylinder sounds pretty amazing.. I recon its a real feel good ride..
Really enjoyed your video. It really comes across that you were having fun which of course is what motorcycling is all about. A non related question. Your glasses. I have been struggling to find a good pair of prescription motorcycle glasses. Do you rate yours and if so where did you get them from? Thanks.
44 teeth did this a couple of years back...Fagan & the Newcastle bloke. Unfortunately they both fell in love with what they road up on lol. Think they decided that it was all down to a few options and personal choices. Definitely an iconic ultimate tourer though John.
How did you find the leg room? I'm similar stature to yourself and have just tested the BMW K1600B. I found that the seat to peg height was lacking and cramped. Haven't got a Goldwing dealer near me. Closest is 150 miles away. The screen on the BMW was poor and would have to have the comfort screen and the taller seat. Was the screen on your bike standard? Any info on the audio system? Currently ride a HD Road Glide looking for comparison. Great review and wish you'd hurry up with the comparison between the two.
Leg room is amazing on the GW, bmw felt instantly cramped in comparison. But using the foot boards on the BMW changes that. Comparison vid will be out at the weekend 👍
Lovely bike... prescription screen!... there's an idea 🤣 great and amusing review...bit remiss not having heated seats for 25k...looking fwd to the ride to IOW with the k1600b ...I have the older K1600b and it has the heated seats which are very nice when it's cold
The orange warning light bothered me from the very start. And then you say you hope it's ok. Dear Chopsy. When you are on a new very heavy and very expensive motorcycle, that you know very little about. In a cold and wet condition. When you get a tire warning sign. You don't do the hoping, you do checking. 😂
I grew up down the road from the old John Fishers Honda dealership, and my best mate Sean and I could never understand the allure of the Goldwing. We'd watch the old fellas pull up on the oversize lumps and just wonder why? Now I'm and old fella, I look at them and still say, why?

Had that going off all the time when I got my '22 GW about 4 months ago. Tire pressure for both tires is 36 PSI and if it's cold and the TPMS sensor sees a 35 that light is guaranteed to annoy you. Keep mine aired up to 38-ish and never see it any more.
of all the things i was expecting to happen to me today, being rickrolled by a goldwing was not one of them
Haha 😁👍
Expectations are a dangerous thing
Nice one Chops, on a bike like that music system is a must. Years ago I was a courier on an a 1200lt blasting the tunes
Mine would always be in manual mode
Great vid chops going to be in Andy’s gang soon 😀 looking forward to the next few vid on this good bike 👍
You was really enjoying that choppsie and you were making me laugh which i really need at the moment choppsie so ta big thanks for that. Stay safe.
Glad to hear it made you chuckle 👍
As if you smacked the 360 hahaha nooooo! Great video as ALWAYS!! 100K here we come!!
Thanks Kate! Hopefully soon 🤞
The Goldwing is cheating doing the Iron Butt 😁
Do you think a 5'3 130pound lady can handle this bike with confidence? Seems pretty large for me but would luv the proforance
Your music session was hilarious. Nice video Chopsie!
Chopsey , you are brilliant.. lol
What a great review, did you notice the hazards flashing when breaking hard and you put the cruise control on when turning the stereo down.. lol
Ps: i think the Wing has linked brakes :)
If you want to try a fun DCT , Africa twin is superb :)
You have just got TMF excited 😊
Hehe, it doesn't take much 😁
I once saw a middle aged man wearing a jacket with leather tassels on the sleeves ride a gold wing into a petrol station with the stereo blaring born to be wild. Absolutely horrendous 😆 😆
That was me 🤣👍
Seemed to be a lot of enjoyment going on, on a bike you are not sure about. 😊Great vid. Loved it.
It's a fantastic system have to agree 👍
Yeah I do agree on the paint, terrible idea but does look cool
Cheers.
I have the matt black, I think it looks great, but it is a bugger to keep clean!
😂 get down on it my brutha!! Love it ! Hilarious review.
Where about in the isle of Wight are you going i go every year love it there ,looking forward to more videos couldn't stop laughing when you was playing music through the village lol
All over Will, yeah it's a lovely place
@@LambChopRides you should definitely go shanklin they have a great fish and chip shop
Saw the bagger in the flesh at the NEC .. really really nice. If I could afford one I'd have one in a heartbeat. Fabulous 👌 hello from Tipperary Ireland 😁
Sportsbike rider rides Goldwing. 🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant stuff. Now just got to the stereo part. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I saw a guy riding one of these down the highway on my way home from work yesterday. I couldn't look away.
In a good or a bad way! 😁👍
Something a bit different, nice to see diversity in your testing . I’ve personally always bulked a bit at the weight of these bikes , riding OK but how are they really in the tight car park ?. Looking forward to more 👍. Thanks Bud for the great video.
Baulked at the bulk? LOL
@@andrewoh1663 , Defo seen pert 2 ? . Thank God for reverse gear !
Saw the title and nearly deleted it from my notifications as I'm not a Goldwing fan, but man that made me laugh. Absolutely hilarious review and I've found myself wanting to test ride one now!! Can't wait for the follow ups on this and the BM with Greg.
Listen, until you see one in person and ride it. You can't judge it.
Thanks David 👍
I rode a 2021 model, they really do shift if you want them to, supremely comfortable If I could actually stump up the readies at 61 years of age I’m that zone (old 🤣) I’d probably have one……….never say never. Nice review Chops hope the insta camera wasn’t permanently damaged👍
You are not old at 61! Life starts there since all the past was training for 61!
@@rubo1964 Okay you’ve persuaded me 👍
Entertaining review Chops. Good to know you can really rag a Goldwing lol. You should've "borrowed" TMF's while he was in Alaska & done a Ferris Bueller on it lol. Looking forward to Greg's solo debut & your joint vid after that.
Haha now that would have been funny 😁 bet he checks the mileage though 😄
@@LambChopRides Indeed it would. First he knew about was when you posted the vid. ; )
@@LambChopRides ....actually it could do with some more miles on it - as I've said before, it's your's whenever you want to borrow it, see how the superior Tour version suits you on a cold winters day with it's brilliant heated seats....
Matt Hancock's ideal motorcycle - has a little creep button. Perfect !
Haha absolutely 👍
Good job you got a bigger garage!
Great video - looks like fun. I can hardly wait until you and Greg take the bikes to Brands Hatch for a track day :)
I think I would go for the tour version and look for a quick release option for the trunk that way keeping the 'extras' the tour has but the option to go 'bagger naked' lol
Just gotta find somewhere where I can test ride a DCT one now ;)
I don't think you'd regret making the switch.... and you can go with either the DCT manual or the traditional manual if you get the full kitted Gold Wings, it's only the Bagger type without the top box that can now only be had with the DCT manual.... unless you don't care about finding one used that is, because the slightly older bagger type Wings were available in traditional manual still.....but finding a used Wing with less than 100k miles is sometimes a chore 😅 these things get ridden and they last for hundreds of thousands of miles and people don't let them sit.
Nice one chops , not my cup of tea either I'm afraid , but for touring big distances on decent roads !!probably one of the best out there. Hearing the music blasting out I nearly dropped my just dipped chocolate hobnob 😁😁😁😁👍👍
Haha 😁
“Bubble o’ Calm” sounds like a character in Carry On Up the Khyber. Lovely bike in its way.
Great video chops! Looking forward to your further thoughts on this one but be careful not to upset TMF haha.
that flat 6 sound is orgasmic
If you're going to the Isle of Wight, don't forget to go for a blast down the Military road, just be careful of people pulling out of the side roads, lost a couple of buddies on that road.
I used to think Gold Wings were just for old men but now I am, I wish I could afford one!
Great vid Chopsie. The Goldie sounds well fruity! That would be addictive.
So I am a sports bike riding, track day addict. I never thought I would like a Goldwing. Well this bagger version anyway. I fancy a go 👍🏻
Give it a go John! 👍
😂😂 Great fun chops, ive never seen a goldwing spanked like that , bet TMF had a hand over his eyes watching 😅😅
Haha, well you know if I'm reviewing it then some spanking will happen 🤣👍
@@LambChopRides 😂😂 soo funny keep up the good work, the channel is fantastic 👍
My sort of review Chopsy 👍 If a bike doesn't handle and isn't fun.....it's not on the list !
Proced the Gold Wing video with an entry video of you wheeling your SMC-R down the road….talk about juxtaposition🤪! But when you turned on the sound system I nearly blew my morning coffee out my nose laughing 😆😆😆👍!
It's not my SMCR.... Superduke 😄👍
I’m young, ride some of the most raucous sport bikes, and I love the gold wing lol.
The creep reverse is a good thing. But I'd rather have a Rocket 3 R, even though it doesn't have one. I'd rather change gear myself, too. The Rocket is better value.
A much more spirited review than the usual Goldwing one.
Me too..but they are not the same kind of bikes at all
@@20cent True.
I think you enjoyed that far more than you expected! Lol. Great fun review 👏👍😀 enjoyed it so I subscribed ! 👍
Thanks Ant and welcome 👍
I tested the Touring HGW dct. Loved it . I have AT crf1100 dct its brilliant. Think i may get a HGW one day Chops lad .
I think the Beemer takes it on the looks like the Glide etc.
One thing I think both could have done better was maybe make the screen brackets more transparent as those black lines are hella annoying.
The blinking indicator is about the tyre pressure. Probably an error
Glad you finally rode one. Good review. Never owned one but have ridden them. Life gets shorter every day. So, perhaps one in the near future.
My bike!! Absolutely love it!
Haha thanks buddy 👍
Nice to see you out of you comfort zone Chopsy and i look forward to seeing you pull wheelies on this beast (Great bike by the way) on a later video.
Thanks buddy 👍
Hello Chops .... I think the warning light you had on dashboard is tyre pressure warning /check ..... love your videos and you are doing garage same as mine .... man cave
My Honda "automatic" car has flappy paddles which when you put it in sports mode turns it into a "manual", which I really enjoy. However, give me the interaction of a clutch and gear lever (not a quick shifter) on a motorbike anyday.
Looks lovely bit large sounds nice 😀,
For technology lovers could be great, for me I'm happy just by turning the key press the starter and away we go well that's what normally happens , 😊
I have the exact same bike with a stage 5 audio upgrade. I love it !!!!
The cold is dropped your tire pressure.
I'm starting to feel comfortable and luxurious just looking at the damn thing. Is that good or bad hahaha?
Haha yes burn your eyes 👀 🤣👍
Rumour has it, Eddie Stobart is going to start using these 😂
Good review though, made me smile. But not the sort of thing I’d ever own, nor is the BMW.
Talking about twisties (with a slight flavour of touring), I hope you can get to test ride the 2023 Niken GT soon.
2018+ Goldwing or 2020+ Triumph Rocket 3?
Chops, this is totally the review we wanted, grip it and rip it!!
Thanx chops great review as always. Been thinking of the goldwing and the bmw k1600 as also in me 50s ...so very interested in the face off of the 2...BTW have you link to your mates page for the bm?
Great vid fun, nice bike I could go for that. First time I’ve seen a vid where a Goldwing gets rung out nice😎🇨🇦
Can't wait for Gregorio's, and then the comparison. Wouldn't have either of these as an only bike, but as a dedicated tourer and for fussy pillions (of which I have three!), they look promising!
Thanks, should be a decent couple of videos hopefully 👍
I have a 2021 ultra Harley woth 20k miles wife and I ride a lot. We see nothing but Harley’s here. My Harley has stage 2 setup. Wonder if the dct goldwing smoke my Harley? And much better bike??
Haha your living the dream on the Goldwing Chops and I bet your going to fall for the Honda, must admit I can certainly see the attraction for huge touring and the six cylinder sounds pretty amazing..
I recon its a real feel good ride..
Yeah something about it 😁👍
Really enjoyed your video. It really comes across that you were having fun which of course is what motorcycling is all about. A non related question. Your glasses. I have been struggling to find a good pair of prescription motorcycle glasses. Do you rate yours and if so where did you get them from? Thanks.
Glasses are only specsavers, nothing fancy
Well done, best review ever of a Goldwing.😎🏍️👍
I had a 1997 Valkyrie std. it was a sweet bike twin 4.25 cans by Two Brothers Racing. That flat 6 had a nice sound! 😉
44 teeth did this a couple of years back...Fagan & the Newcastle bloke.
Unfortunately they both fell in love with what they road up on lol.
Think they decided that it was all down to a few options and personal choices.
Definitely an iconic ultimate tourer though John.
Mossy.
I’m 32 & really want one of those gold wings they are beautiful
Thanks Jonathan 👍
The orange warning light bothered me from the very start. And then you say you hope it's ok. Dear Chopsy. When you are on a new very heavy and very expensive motorcycle, that you know very little about. In a cold and wet condition. When you get a tire warning sign. You don't do the hoping, you do checking. 😂
I grew up down the road from the old John Fishers Honda dealership, and my best mate Sean and I could never understand the allure of the Goldwing. We'd watch the old fellas pull up on the oversize lumps and just wonder why? Now I'm and old fella, I look at them and still say, why?
Good first look video Lamb Chop
