    I have an '02 Busa (silver & grey) with 122,000 miles on it. So yeah pretty durable/ reliable. I am not upgrading but rather supplementing it with a silver Gen 3 .
    Great review. You & TMF have the best style of review. Thx.

      @@Ritalie Zero. Still on original clutch. I have replaced the clutch slave cylinder. Stainless hydraulic lines. A metric ton of tires & brakes. Normal maintenance per Suzuki's schedule. Regular 10-40 Honda or Suzuki oil ( not synthetic or semi ).

    Thank you for explaining the torque curve! More power in the range that people will use everyday matters more than the peak hp.

    • @Ritalie
      @Ritalie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's weird because the 2nd Gen already has insane low end torque that is almost scary and rips your arms off. The engine was already known for being more torque down low than anything in it's class. I can't imagine MORE torque. I mean jeeeeeze.

    Great review. I think Suzuki have really nailed it with this bike. Subtle upgrades bringing it bang up to date. Love the instruments and the colour combination looks amazing.

  • @357-s6o

    Absolutely gorgeous bike. And Suzuki chose its own style which is unique and harmonious, with samurai sword carved precision lines. The whole bike just exudes magnificence and luxury, and the review did not fail to pick up on that. There is no other one style wise, even close.
    I would replace slipons with Akrapovic to cut on weight considerably. # 1 bike on my list. Thank you for the review.

    • @Ritalie
      @Ritalie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock pipes are uglier on the 3rd Gen. But on the 2nd Generation bike the aftermarket pipes do not look good. The stock pipes are part of the body lines and the curves of the bike. And if you take the stock pipes off on the 2nd or 3rd Generation bike, you ruin the unique look and the soul of the bike. The designers intentionally shaped the mufflers to be artwork. Luckily the aftermarket mufflers for the Gen 3 are absolutely stunningly beautiful. The 2nd Gen has absolutely beautiful stock mufflers that are the perfect length and color and they match the body lines absolutely perfect. Once you change the stock mufflers on a 2nd Gen bike, the entire rear half of the bike looks out of place.

    • @357-s6o

    The 2nd Generation Hayabusa has so much torque and the gears are so short on the highway, it's absolutely ridiculous. But 1st gear is suppppppper tall. You can accelerate hard from 2300 rpms onward, and at 3500rpm it begins pulling extremely hard and never stops pulling hard. The high RPM flow of the 2nd Gen head is absolutely insane because the engine continues to pull all the way to redline and never shows any sign of actually signing off. I pray they put taller 5th and 6th ratios on the 3rd Gen.

Sure it doesn't have all the electronic bells and whistles of the Bussa, but not is it Euro 5 compliant. I have to admit the release of the Gen3 had me worried my bike may loose it's Crown, fortunately Suzuki have allowed it to remain King.

    If bike makers are sacrificing K(M)PG for slightly lower emissions, it's a total waste of time. The emissions tests are static. Obviously, less range per litre (20% for the Busa), means that more, not less, toxic chemicals are going into the atmosphere. Lots of Euro 5 bikes are worse in terms of range. Which makes the whole thing a nonsense.

    Very nice video as usual... the one thing I want to critizise is the resolution. Not too noticable at the beginning, I realized at the gauge part, about 10 minutes/ 10.30, that it looks quite blurry, like maybe 720p, although the video is still in 4K. I checked back at the beginning, and the resolution doesn't get better than around 1080p. Does the recording device not produce the full 4K?

    Positives: Colour scheme and the dash with old style clocks and TFT in the middle. Really nice. As you say good job Suzuki. This new iteration in black and gold looks the business.
    Negatives: Shame they didn't go full Brembo brakes and with twin pistons on the rear. I guess cost cutting. Significantly reduced fuel economy to comply with Euro 5 not so good either.

      @@NothingToProve Thanks for your reply Scott. Probably for the better then, although riding at 250kmh on new tyres was ok or had you scrubbed them in by then? I am interested in this new Hayabusa as I still have a mint very low mileage Blackbird and dream of the day that Honda decide to resurrect it and bring it bang up to date, but in all seriousness this is never ever going to happen. So I'm interested in this new Hayabusa if only because I still have a Blackbird which is pretty old tech now from a previous era and king before the Hayabusa came out and stole it's crown. Of course as you mention there are others like the Kawasaki H2 and ZZR 1400. Would you even include the BMW 1250RT as well? Anyway thanks for your reply and review.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, the 900XR is a sport/touring bike, so the riding position is up-right and the Busa is a sport bike, so it's a tucked sport position. The XR is the bike for anyone wanting to ride longer than 1 hour...like me, after one hour on this bike I wanted to get off it, after 1 hour on the XR, I'm just getting warmed up for a 10 hour ride :)

      @@NothingToProve Thanks for info from first hand. I asumed something like that. I just donnt wonna have 2 of f900xr. For wife is f900xr perfect but for me is 1000 4 cylinder perfect. Other bikes you may want to consider too (but they are both 2 cylinder): KTM 1290GT, BMW 1250RS.
      The problem today is that Adventure bikes are slowly replacing sport/touring bikes.
      Gone away are the: Honda VFR1200, Yamaha FJR1300, just to name 2 over the last 10 years :( But you might be able to find a "left-over" Honda or Yamaha if you look for them.

    I don't know exactly how the pricing works over on your side... I live just a few miles away from Rosenau PowerSports in Dearborn Heights Michigan... They are wanting $24.379 and some change for a Hayabusa... I asked him how do you come up with that price because the bike lists for $18,599/they told me set up fee, destination charge and they are pricing in a premium charge for covid🤣🤣🤣 I don't understand how Suzuki allows them to do this!
    I kept doing more research to find a decent dealership... I'm going to have to go 325 miles out of my way for the Hayabusa, but I am getting it for $19,136 with tax, plates,registration...
    It is a christian-owned Suzuki powerhouse dealer/they do not charge destination fees or set up fees/also they do not believe in taking advantage of people for covid 👍🏻

      Yea, I've been to Rosenau many times & to the Honda dealer in Canton, it's for that same reason that I drove down to Toledo OH. to get my Honda Blackbird back in 2002 & went back to the same dealer for a Kawasaki Ninja later. Among my motorcycle riding buddies there, Rosenau was never an option, you only went there to see what a bike looks like, never to actually buy a bike. 😒

I told the regional rep everything and he said he would see what he could do for me on top of the price I am already getting from Georgetown Kentucky 325 miles😂😅 away

    I know what GT stands for, but what does it mean?

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, Honda coined the phrase "open class GT" back in 1996 with the introduction of the Blackbird. Meaning no rules apply to anything on the bike, un-like the 600cc & 1000cc class. Honda was first then Kawasaki with the ZX12R & ZX14R then this in 1999.

      My issue with it is all the extra plumbing and the fact that this bike has rubber lines. I'd rather have better simpler brakes than ABS but if we're gonna have it put some proper lines and charge 500 more.
