George’s son was attending Brown University in Providence Rhode Island. On my way to work I stopped at a small shop there to get a coffee. When I walked in I noticed George sitting in a booth with another person. I wanted to go over and just thank him for all the years of great music I restrained myself respecting his privacy. On the way out our eyes locked he nodded and smiled. It’s a memory I will always cherish! George was a beautiful person and spirit. His guitar playing was brilliant never a wasted note. It was sad that he suffered so much in his last years from cancer and being attacked by a madman in his home. Love you so much Mr.Harrison thanks for that smile.

That Roger Williams escaped Massachussetts Colony and established the first Colony in America where Freedom of Conscience had a legal right to exist. Another word for that was Freedom of Religion... Well, perhaps George Harrison's guitar playing is underrated by those who DON'T play guitar. But for those of who do, his world music influences, taste, melody nd inventiveness provide the blueprint for eclectic playing. And there can be NO doubt that Harrison's slide guitar playing, ranging from supple, melodic, and haunting to snarling, snide, and stinging was, in the parlance of the day, DA SHEEYAT.
I do not think he was underrated at all. Eric Clapton said, “Nobody can get that distinctive and unique sound no matter how they try. Including me - and, I’ve tried.” Now, y’all go and try it and see if you can come close to capturing that sound. ❤

He's just about my favourite slide player. Maybe there's better out there somewhere but I don't know their names and I frankly don't care. He just had an incredibly expressive touch on the slide.
Excellent playing. Slide guitar is extremely difficult. Slide guitar in standard tuning, as George is doing here, is even harder. Even the great Buddy Guy admitted he found it so difficult, he decided not to pursue it.
***** It can't be. Look at the riff he is hitting at 1:40. He is holding the slide straight across the E, B and G strings at the 12th fret and is producing an Am triad (A, C and E). To do that you have to tune the B string up a half step and the G string up a whole step. The only way you could pull that off in standard tuning and have all the notes resonate is by holding the slide diagonally, which is damn near impossible to do in tune.
