    This is an awesome video I was actually building my car around this time. Honestly no better feeling than building your engine and that first start. I had a shop in Vegas that cleaned and honed my block but 5,000miles on it and still running strong.

    Great video, thanks for creating this. Coincidentally my car is with Mike at GST. I had two rod bearings fail so he is rebuilding my 2011 STI, and I am so stoked about it. His crew does great work. Anyways thanks again for the great video of your rebuild, super informative. Keep on grinding and have fun on the track.

    Your doing some strange stuff building that motor. I’ve been building subaru engines for 20 years and never seen anyone ever put silicone spray over wrap. Nor have I ever seen anyone put petroleum jelly on rubber seals. I love learning new things. Do these methods actually work or are you just experimenting? Let me know because im always after new ideas when building engines. Cheers 👍

    • @PMAutoworks
      @PMAutoworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep! We put Silicone Spray on the wrap to avoid it absorbing oil and hold in more heat. It kinda works? We use Petroleum Jelly to help lube seals for easier installs. Seems to be safe on the rubber which is why we use it.

    What made you go with a blouch 18g instead of an fp blue or something similar? Is it an 18g xtr?

    • @PMAutoworks
      @PMAutoworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We went with a Blouch 18g because we just wanted to add on a very small amount of horsepower on top of what we already had to build the perfect street car. An FP Blue is a larger turbo and since we are running a stock block, we did not want to push the limits of it.

    • @PMAutoworks

    Paint looks clean. What weight oil were you running at the overheat time? What's to hot, 220*F or 230*F+. I've hit 218*F on my FA20 in normal driving w/ A/C on.

    So basically you just wanted to keep everything stock... stock rails, only 1000cc injectors, small turbo, even stock block...
    Probably could have skipped the turbo and put some money down for a built block to be safer and set up for the future. But either way car is clean man.
