919 dollaroos? Daaamn. Looks like I’m waiting for a while longer before upgrading. Because 4TB seems to be the sweet spot for the amount of games I buy each gen.
4 TB may not be an overkill but definitely way too expensive. I have a 1 TB SSD installed and it's been doing the job for me. So yeah I think 1 or 2 TB drives are enough for now.
I went with a 1TB WD Black, alongside a 512GB external. The standard drive gets my most frequently played PS5 games, and the external holds PS4 games. The M2 drive is mainly for the lesser played PS5 games, but also for any PS5/PS4 media apps and some of my more frequently played PS4 games.
@@AJCham You're doing it wrong. The fastest drive without OS contention (m2) is the drive that should hold your mostly played ps5 games. The internal ps5 ssd should be left to run operating system functions alone (massive boost to performance of your games running in the m2drive). The external should be strictly for ps4 games.
if you're going the external route, just get a HD. they are much cheaper than an external SSD. i planned for this years ago even before this gen of consoles. i bought two, 4TB drives. one for X, one for PS. i paid about $100 each.
I can't even use hdd as storage let alone to run games but that's just me. I have 8tb worth of external ssd for my ps5 (actually for ps4 pro before I sold it) so I'm not in too much of a hurry to upgrade my ps5 ssd as I have just a few ps5 games.
I plan on picking up a 1 TB ssd, I don’t see myself needing 2-4 TB’s space. I only play a couple of games (NBA 2K22 & Call Of Duty), but would like for some flexibility for a couple of other games that may catch me or my girlfriends, eyes. Edit: Ive also picked up a Scuf Reflex Pro for the PS5… was wondering if you planned on picking up and reviewing any third party controllers?
4TB would be pointless, you wouldn't be able to use it. I have the 1TB and it's half full at the moment. The problem I find is that with that many games it requires the "other" catagory to be half of my main drive. You can't put other on the m.2 drive so at about 1 to 1.5 TB the "other" catagory will fill up your main drive and not allow you to install anymore games. I'd say 2TB would be maximum before you couldn't add anymore.
Your wish was granted 2 or so months ago. You can choose between 512gb, 1TB, or 2TB. Doubtful that we'll see a 4TB as very few people will buy that, but if you want to install your own SSDs and not be limited to the official ones, there's a workaround someone creates and sells.
I’d go with the 4tb. I have a total of 5tb for my Xbox series x and I’m close to full. I have 2 2tb external hdd’s. Luckily most of my games don’t need the ssd, so the hdd works fine. It’d be sweet if I had a huge ssd so all my games can load and play fast like the few do on my ssd.
Another thing you can do with the external ssd's is just make em for PS4 games as they can run off the ssd and make the rest of the storage be for PS5 games

I can't even use hdd as storage let alone to run games but that's just me. I have 8tb worth of external ssd for my ps5 (actually for ps4 pro before I sold it) so I'm not in too much of a hurry to upgrade my ps5 ssd as I have just a few ps5 games.
I have a firecuda 530 1TB installed in my PS5 and I never regretted buying it.
Cheers for the video. The PS4 had an HD limit, but it looks like the ps5 will slowly upgrade to things beyond 4tb when released.
I wish Xbox would make more storage expansion options with their storage expansion accessory for Series X/S you know...
I remember when it used to take hours (not kidding) to download a 6MB MP3 song off Napster. Lol.
PS5 upgrade 💙
Nice 👏 4TB is what im aiming for as well !
this is the definition of overkill
You're not wrong haha
Just got myself the 2TB version since it was down to just over £100 on Amazon
Hey! Don’t forget that Jesus Christ loves you and he died for you have a blessed day ❤️❤️
No thank you
Sorry bud im buddhist . Buddhism is older than Christianity.
@@user-ju9fv2om6o Your argument is flawed. Age ≠ Correct. God is also older than buddhism. He created the heaven and the earth.
He’s not real
Amen my brother❤
Another thing you can do with the external ssd's is just make em for PS4 games as they can run off the ssd and make the rest of the storage be for PS5 games
That M.2 SSD screw head thread strips SO EASILY
Yes ! More of this! I don't have a ps5 YET BUT I really enjoyed your content so far and ur video where show how u film with ur iphone is one I watch on repeat. PS5 Upgrade 💙
4tb is fine for a large game library, but a SSD that costs more than the system itself is a bit overkill..
Actually it's literally 3 times more than the cost of a ps5 physical and 4 times the digital version.
@@lordspalse0062 where are you shopping? Your average gen 4 4tb is around $500-$600 on Amazon.
It's something about having the ability to use a 4TB external hard drive that can make a smile grow so big. 😅
Even though I can't afford 😩a ps5 in my country because it's too expensive,I really do love and enjoy your contents..
Your videos are one way or the other my ps5 console..
Great work done ✅
Me too
I currently have that same SSD because I know I'm going to have alot of games in the long run
That’s awesome 💪
Installed a 2tb when I got the five and I also brought over my external 2tb I used to plays my game on PS4 and it didn't need to format and re download all that stuff so it's been nonstop fun since.
Thank you so much Spawnpoiint, your video tip on the PS5 Internal storage installation was next level, it definitely helped my PS5.
I never seen this channel before it just showed up today in my suggested at the right time cuase I am doing a gaming setup, and this video is very professional and in formative, u defeneli earn my sub friend
Definitely would appreciate more gaming videos mate. With more shots of your sweet setup!
Solid video as always also 0:02 How many of y'all looked over at your system 😂
??? Dont understand
@@Mini_Man147ohhhh that's cuz I heard the power on beep and thought my PS5 turned on by itself 😂 nothing major my guy
@@sol_merew400 oh ok 😂
@@Mini_Man147 yeah man😅 i was scared shitless cuz no one else was home at the time
The Seagate fire cuda 2tb drive is the best purchase I made this year honestly
It might be expensive but I would rather have all my games downloaded and ready to play.
Honestly i agree with going more space for it . pretty convenient hopefully i can get a ps5 pro to where i can do that . im still on ps4 for right now so
It’s not overkill. Have you seen how many games I own? Still wish these systems had a 2.5 hard drive spot as well as the m.2.
Honestly a 2.5 inch sata 3 slot would have been fantastic.
@@lordspalse0062 it would of been. I own way too many ps4 games.
💙 I just ordered the addlink 4tb ssd for ps5 last night from amazon. 🤘😁
4tb isn’t overkill when you remember PS5 can play and store PS4 games
Great video because I used it to swap out my drive. Thanks!
Have to get one of these as my Ps5 storage is full after only 4 months of owning ps5
Yep. Those data collection algorithms are working. This video showed up in my suggestion feed not 4 hours after ordering the exact same 4TB SSD drive on Amazon. 😆
Dude your videos are so cool.
Thank you 🙏
Now can put 8tb love it.
And good point for the spacer, I was about to install the internal storage without it 😅
i want that 4tb.... but the fear of getting one now and then seeing them get discounted would kill me.
I bought the same Corsair MP600, but a 1 TB. Having spent money on a PS5 and a few controllers, I couldn’t spend that type of money for a 4 TB. Wish I watched this before I installed my SSD because I didn’t think I needed the spacer.
When I purchased my ps5 I got a super rare situation from Amazon. I purchased a heat sink and I was going to buy the 980 pro . But instead Amazon shipping shipped me a 4tb ssd packaged with the heat sink instead! So I ended up saving about 800 bucks total of a 20 dollar purchase
PS5 Upgrade 💙
Thanks for the nice video, I got lot of clarification along the way. 👍
Fantastic video😩Gave me all the information I needed😁 Thank you sir 🙏🏾
I went Samsung T7 2TB & Samsung 980 Pro 2TB… Fo’real Fo’real it’s the sweet spot… Top it off with Remote Play and you got yourself a piece of pie…
