I just had the outline done this past weekend and will have the shading done next weekend and when I tell you it literally feels like there are some fire ants that came straight from the pits of hell and crawled directly up my leg and onto my bag and built its nest, thats literally the way it feels, the itching is unbearable, I can deal with the slight burning after a warm shower and putting on fragrance free lotion but it's the itching that keeps me from thinking straight 🤯

what helps is something very cold. if you buy new plastic bags (to keep clean) fill it with water, freeze it to make an ice pack. The intense cold kind of helps relieve the itch until it melts. but you can just re freeze it. make a couple so you can alternate when 1 melts.
Which is why I won't get color or shade hahaha lines and more lines are my only options 😂 and I noticed if it's in an area that is most of the time clothed then it's easier to lightly scratch through fabric
patting it is one of the worst things you can do to a healing tat. best way to relieve the itch is to put your arm under cold water or something really cold if you don’t have access to water. patting an itchy tattoo sends more white blood cells to the area and causes it to become itchier or irritated
As an autist with several physical sensation related sensory integration issues: the itch during the healing process scares me far more than pain during the application process
The healing process is the worse.... the pain from the tattoo goes away but then you have 2 weeks worth of some burning/swelling, itching, peeling and notice how much you knock into things 😂

You didn’t hear about the monkey story did you? 😭 I was attacked by a monkey while away in Madagascar. I was taking a picture with one and while he was sitting on my shoulder taking the picture, the flash went off and he went absolutely crazy.. and in that he ripped both my ears off. I was rushed to the ER but because the monkey still had my ears, I couldn’t do anything to repair them and now I live with nothing there. Still so traumatic for me & to this day whenever i look in the mirror or see myself in videos im reminded of my ears being ripped off and i think back to that monkey screaming 😔
This is a tip from my homies with dreads and corn rolls. Just pat that mf 😂😂😂 don’t go crazy but patting definitely killed the itch without damaging my tats. A good moisturizer as well will help.
