Heeey guys, finally here with the Super Smash Bros. LOST BITS! This video has been one of the most requested videos on my channel ever and it's looking to be the longest Lost Bits videos to date, so I really hope you enjoy it and that I do it justice!

Fun fact: in the cutscene where Dedede turns Luigi into a trophy, he uses the wrong/old trophy model similar to the one seen in 12:43

Was the trophy a reference to the cutscene or was the cutscene a reference to the trophy?
trophy used in the cutscene is completely different than both the unused and used luigi trophy
I remember the cutscene pretty well and I'm pretty sure that it uses another model. It may be a similar, or even the exact same facial expression, but Luigi's hat wasn't lifted up like that

Brawl was my biggest Childhood Memory and experience with the Smash series (I haven't play Melee until few years has pass)
Melee is overrated. Brawl is objectively the better game and always has been.
The subspace emassary was on of my most Hypest moment in my childhood

Considering they had type match ups implemented for pokemon trainer, it doesn't seem too farfetched that they'd have PP and Levels as well
Quinn Farris levels would be amazing, I always wanted a mechanic where you could evolve or something like that. Levels would be extremely cool and make Pokemon trainer good

It really is a crime that we'll never see another foray into those Fire Emblem games... The Laguz, the "half breeds", the many many questions about how Ike's sister knew the Galdr that released Ashera's opposite force... And more besides that!

18:52 The Menu screen being a 3D area makes sense because you can move the camera angle with the c-stick in normal play.
Few things:
1.) Some of those subspace enemies data can be found, especially for Mizzo. Not only is his model placed in a subspace level as an easter egg, but we have some animation data that shows that it would float around, and swim across the screen being held by a web connecting the top and bottom of the area he was in.
2.) the white blob on the black background is not just 1 texture, its in every single subspace level's data, which with it's name having the word "shadow" in it, would suggest that it is probably used to shading or effects.
3.) The US version of the game has a whole lot of PAL content cut from it, despite it not being the other way around, with the only exception being an extra cutscene file that shows Snake on the halberd, but the video is slightly corrupted and beige coloured.
The menus are 3d because of the C-stick being able to move the screen around

I had an idea for how the X Parasite could have worked. Since their main function is to copy an organic being that they devour, perhaps you could pick up a parasite and throw it at a player to have the parasite deal small continual damage while copying the fighter’s dna, and eventually leaving the fighter while turning into a clone of them that would fight on your side temporarily, similar to Ditto in Ultimate.
One thing is that mizzou, one of the cut enemies was actually included in the game as a trophy, and was in that the containment room in subspace

I've sort of had a feeling that the unused Ordon Sword textures were meant for a separate Link character model used in Subspace. Maybe there was a playable (obviously scrapped) stage that you'd play using a Link model with the Ordon Sword textures being called in rather than the Master Sword's textures? Once you get to the cutscene where Link draws the Master Sword is when the regular Link model would be in use from that moment onward. Even if it were to have likely never been a thing, it's a cool thought I've had.
it also could have been used for the scrapped damage mechanic. Maybe once Link breaks his Master Sword he would pull out the Ordon Sword and continue the fight from there (similar to Robin from Smash 4 and Ultimate).
@@Phantom1op That does seem more likely, but at the same time, what would happen if the Ordon Sword breaks? Then there is the issue of how Link would carry two swords.

This probably means something like "define info layer" - a reminder for someone to do it, or "defined info layer" - a reminder that it is present. In this case "info layer" - wherever it may be, baked into the texture or present in the model - can be describing how to place those hair sprites.

I think the ordon(?) sword was supposed to be what link would wield if his master sword broke.
The master sword has never been breakable except for in Breath of the Wild which came out 10 years after brawl.

To clarify, Plus and Min, Toon Zelda, and Toon Sheik were all planned to be in the game, they were supposed to be fighters. But they were cut early on to focus on other characters. I believe TZ and TS were supposed to be linked to Toon Link as sort of a call to buy Wind Waker, but yeah that didn't go through.

26:30 makes sense, whenever i play on emulator the game runs smoothly, until it has to go trough one of those transitions and chokes like all hell
I think you can choose to load it to RAM or something like that to prevent that issue
Some versions of dolphin don't lag as bad, but the characters get invisible because the emulator is calculating the shading, in emulator loading and unloading things can lag, especially in stage transition or heavy lighting changes
@@kayorego6420 Must be on old versions cuz i've never seen something like that happen, and my pc isn't exactly a powerhouse
@@rompevuevitos222 some versions skip some functions, game play keaps going even if the routine for loading the models with new lighting isn't finished, the game don't lags most of the time actually it only lags randomly in this moments, like that transition can be normal with the models invisible for a moment or it lags and the models load normally or it don't lags and everything loads normally

I’ve been looking at this video over and over again, and I think I’ve figured out what the X parasite might’ve done, but it’s quite simple. The X parasite might’ve taken the spot of the Metroid, though I’m not sure why Nintendo would do that though. Might be because of the somewhat recent release of Metroid Fusion, but it was ultimately decided against, since the Metroids are much more iconic to the series as a whole. Not sure about it being an item though. Maybe it could’ve been like ditto in Ultimate, but then maybe they didn’t have the capacity for it or something.
I love seeing the dev’s have a sense of humor. The boo picture under the bed made me chuckle.

I remember bringing my Wii to nans on Christmas when I was 6 to play Mario Kart and I remember being given Brawl early (it was Christmas eve) and I was up till like 7 in the morning, just playing Smash Bros which was the first ever smash game I owned and played
