Pretty sure the reason people were saying Triforce Slash is based on the finishing 4-part slash in Ocarina of Time, despite not visually being similar, is because Zelda used the power of the Triforce to restrain Ganon while Link finished him with slashes. Smash just sped it up to be flashier and instead of Zelda appearing to do the binding, they just made the Triforce appear to bind the target. It’s not the most solid argument, but I can understand the thought process
You cannot however, explain why THEY BROUGHT IT BACK, I feel one small change could make the attack so much better for young link, just change the animation, have the person not be able to escape like with pickachu and Kirby’s final smashes and just attack with the fierce deity design
Lucario's final smash in Smash 4 actually DOES give him his maximum aura strength. 1.7x is the max strength when on equal stocks, but if Lucario is a stock or more behind, his aura can reach 1.8x strength.
Missed opportunity: you could've told us that the Star Fox characters have special lines in some cases when the Final Smash is initiated. Fox usually says "Star Fox, fire at will!" but when Wolf is caught, he says "This is the end for you, Wolf!" @@jhigaloo True but he also stated some useless things about the final smashes that don't tell us about the origins in this video, for example how "Phos and Lux" mean Light in Greek and Latin so yeah.

Huge missed opportunity for more diverse Final Smashes. Fox should have ground-based Final Smash, with maybe Slippy Toad, Krystal (Falco already a fighter, and let him keep the arwing strike as it suits him more), and him using some of the weapons found in Assault’s land-based weaponry. Wolf… on the other hand… hm… maybe a unique animation with their Starfox Command ships?

Sephiroth's final smash is like, my favourite thing ever. The opening shot with the three person party facing him, the sped up Supernova cutscene is hilarious, and the random status effects is the icing on the cake. Marvelous.

I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned in the video, like with other Final Smashes that showed up in later games, but who knows how long he’s been working on the vid for
I still think that Dark Pit should've gotten the Lightning Chariot. He uses the Lightning Chariot more than Pit in Uprising. Pit only uses the actual Chariot once, to break through Palutena's barrier. Dark Pit uses it at the end of the same chapter to smash open the portal to the Chaos Kin's lair and uses it a second time to impale Hades and rescue Pit at the end of chapter 23. Furthermore, Palutena's Guidance for Dark Pit establishes that Viridi is currently in possession of the Lightning Chariot and that Dark Pit has joined the Forces of Nature. They totally dropped the ball.
Ok hear me out: Triforce slash as the final attack on ganondorf in TOTK. Meshes with flurry rush so could be naturally implemented like the final hit in BOTW. Also it'd be sick as hell.
Another reference for Sora's final smash that I really like is that he does the same hop backwards while spinning the keyblade as he does in KH2 when sealing the keyholes on all the worlds there. The cloudy setting also looks like the KH2 sealing the keyhole sequence. I didn't think of him sealing the keyhole on the "smash" world which I love now.
You can kinda tell PJiggles probably hasn't played Kingdom Hearts. He seems to be under the impression that worlds are usually accessed through doors because Sora seals the 'keyholes to worlds', but somebody probably hasn't told him that these keyholes are more like, responsible for quarantining planets and not really related to any door. It's still possible he's sealing a "door to Smash", but it's still clearly meant to parallel him sealing the Door to Darkness, because that's one of the only times a scenario like that happens in the series.
Fun fact, Great Aether and Torrential Roar were made into Ike and Corrin's engage attacks in Fire Emblem Engage, finally making these attacks canon 5 years after Ultimate's release
my brother has a funny idea for krools final smash that ive honestly just started accepting. when krool lands after the final smash he points at himself like "yeah i did that". the idea is that instead of actually warping you to dk island and blowing you up, he just tells you about what he was gonna do and then you spontaniously explode. i know thats not whats happening but i love it
@@Glory2Snowstar Me watching the victim of my final Smash see me explain the terrifying actions I will commit on DK Island (a kremling put a pipe bomb next to them for when I'm done talking).
I remember how happy I got whenever I saw Piranha Plant’s final smash. It might be my favourite one purely because of the spot-on reference to Subspace.
Actually _Crossroad Killing_ is related to the night. The inspiration, typing and name comes from the practice of samurai testing newly sharpened blades on commoners walking on the streets at night. Pretty dark type thing to do
Personally, if they had to keep the triforce slash, I think it would have been better for young link to transform into fierce deity, stun the opponent with a sword beam, then rush in. And for toon link, I think it'd be neat if he split into four links, then did a flurry of attacks.
@Craige Goad they also have Toon Link as the conductor on the spirit tracks stage even though that is the Wind Waker Link's direct decendant, I don't think it would matter too much
You are the GOAT for including the songs you used in the description. Not enough people do that, which is a shame especially since it's hard to find video game songs without knowing the title.
I just wanna point out smth about the Inklings : When they have their final smash ready, you can see their hair glows and sparks a bit, as they do in the original game when they filled up their specials
Every game their tentacles glow, but yeah it does seem more noticeable in 1 Spoilers: And in octo expansion pearl's tentacles glow when using the princess cannon (an altered version of the killer wail)
@@LycanMOON it is even visible while in squid form, you don't glow but the sparks appear. Now i wanna know if it also sparks when recharging the ink in smash bros
One thing worth mentioning about Mewtwo's final smash is that the use of Mega Mewtwo Y in the move is probably due to it being the first mega evolution to ever be revealed to the public and the first to show up in the anime. To some extent, it's THE most iconic mega evolution in the pokemon series
29:06 the pose he takes after the final slash very closely resembles his render in Kirby Air Ride, so that could be a reference there, especially since Air Ride was the last Kirby game directed by Sakurai.
Worth noting about Sora's Final Smash: It's 100% a reference to him sealing the door to darkness. Not sure if you're aware but, despite having the ability to seal keyholes, it's actually rare that he uses this abilities on doors. This is because worlds are treated more like planets floating in space, and sealing keyholes merely cuts them off from eachother- Worlds usually don't have doors leading to them. The Door to Darkness is different, because it doesn't lead to a "planet"-esque world, it basically leads to some other dimension where darkness resides, "The World of Darkness.". Think of it like the nether and overworld in Minecraft. Maybe in this context, the entrance to Smash is being presented as a door of sorts, but in concept, the only time a scene like this happens in Kingdom Hearts is when Sora is specifically sealing the Door to Darkness in Kingdom Hearts 1.
Regarding the Metroid Dread stuff at 6:09, it's also worth noting that, while Dread came out in 2021, the game has been in works/development hell since atleast 2005. While nothing is confirmed, one could also speculate that there's a chance the Brawl dev team was able to take inspiration for Samus' final smash from potential Dread prototypes/concepts
Awesome work with all this! The effort and result is very much appreciated~ Just wanna add two addendums: -Triple Finish was featured in the Pokémon manga at the end of one of the major story arcs. In it, 9 of the protags unleash type-specific versions of the attack (Triple Finish Grass, Triple Finish Fire and Triple Finish Water) with the 9 starters from the first three generations. There's also an extra Electric-type one used by two Pikachu and a Pichu. I think that chapter was released after Brawl's release to reference the game, but I'm not sure. -Pac-Man's Final Smash in Ultimate also references the fact that he can wrap around the screen, just like in his home games. This was mentioned in the Direct that accompanied the Everyone is Here trailer.
The main reason pichu takes damage isn't because of the recoil damage from volt tackle (though it may be related) it's actually because in a pokedex entry for pichu it says that pichu don't yet know how to control their electric powers so they often end up shocking themselves. Which just sounds adorable
This made me realize how much I miss the weird Brawl Final Smashes and being able to control some of them, which unlike Ultimate doesn’t stop the fight to a halt (especially if you’re playing with multiple and they have to sit and wait for the cutscene to finish), and isn’t a cutscene final smash. I miss being able to control Giga Bowser/Mac, the Landmaster, Luigi’s funny weird negative zone and even the short rhythm game of DK’s Bongos.
Fun fact about Ganondorf’s final smash in Ultimate: The sword slash at the start as a spike-effect. Meaning that if your opponent is off-stage while you use this, you can actually kill them with the spike of the initial hit rather than the actual charge forward part of the final smash. Most of the time, they fly down too slowly and are hit by the charge as well, but I have killed people a few times with just the spike.
There is actually can be an in universe explanation for Robin's Final Smash not changing in Ultimate. In Fire Emblem Awakening the Outrealm is an accessible area that lets you travel to other dimensions and in said dimensions there can be parallel world versions of characters. Some of the Outrealm Missions include literally saving alternate universe versions of the child units in the game. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to have one of the Chroms be an outrealm version.
1:21:58 In Animal Crossing New Horizons, you actually do build a Town Hall, when you start out in that game, you only have yourself and two other villagers, later when you’ve made some progress, Tom Nook will give you a task of getting new villagers to move into your island, once 5 villagers are living in your island, Isabelle will show up to build a Town Hall in your Island, which is what Isabelle’s Final Smash is based on, even though New Horizons came out almost 2 years later than Ultimate! I just have no idea why you could’ve mentioned it.
(*You can't choose where your plaza, and by extension, your Town Hall is built, nor move it - unlike your house in what the Villager's was referencing. I might be wrong, but I also thought the Town Hall was Tom's idea and he happened to know Isabelle would be perfect for the job, so he called her to the island while construction was in progress. It also happens once certain criteria are met, more passive than going out and moving/upgrading your house for an _unholy_ price for a _minuscule_ amount of storage by comparison- Just adding, not trying to start anything)
I like the idea of the victory screen showing during shepiroth’s final smash but with one small change. Instead of GAME popping up at the beginning have it pop up as the earth is disintegrating and have the result show with empty space where the planet was.
I think that the reason for meta knight having two pairs of wings in his final smash is the fact that in older kirby games he used to have wings under his cape, while in the newer games his cape just turns to wings and the final smash refrences both
It would have been very cool if dr. Mario’s final smash put all players in a jar and you could control pills that drop into the jar, allowing you to smush the players and then dodge it.
a little fun thing that happened a bit recently regarding evo moment 37- i was in gamestop and was talking to one of the clerks (im a regular there so they know me) and i was talking about my science fair project and how i did it on video game and the correlation with reaction times. for the science fair, we had to make a research paper which was really boring and i hated doing it, but i managed to slip in a few well known moments in gaming, including evo moment 37. i am quite young, and i wasn't born when it happened, but it was that well known. so i told the clerk and he and the guy he was attending to popped off. its funny
1:26:27 I actually never saw that fluid as blood. You see, the enemies in the game (which are called Shadows), make themselves manifest from puddles of sludge on the ground. I always saw the fluid as that very same sludge spewing out from their insides as their bodies collapse.
19:50 I'd also like to bring up that in the beginning of the first Legends of Zelda game, Zelda shatters the Triforce of Courage into many pieces to give Link a chance to bring them back before Ganondorf does. Thus meaning that the spinning Triforce(s) that Zelda and Link use to harm the opponent represents that of the Triforce of Wisdom in the first game.
Since this is a compilation of multiple videos, I remember when he talked about corrin FS he said "corrin couldn’t control their dragon form the the first time, so azura calm them with some magic water song. Corrin doesn’t use water magic, so the water power in their FS is based on that event" (which was wrong, corrin do have water power in their dragon form) but i see it’s been corrected here.
Something interesting I have to note about Triforce Slash is that, yes they are all functionally the same, but I noticed that each Link has a unique design for the triforce. For Link it is transparent, for young Link it appears to be more opaque, and for Toon Link it is solid and bright yellow.
Great video! One thing to note is that I believe a lot of the Ultimate final smashes became "lamer" because Sakurai mentioned at one point that he wanted to streamline all Final Smashes in Ultimate, likely as they were introducing the meter mechanic. (Update, you do mention this in the closing thoughts, but I did want to mention that I remember Sakurai specifically talking about it at some point)
1:18:33 samus' ship has an autopilot feature, it's more used in metroid prime 3 corruption as there are landing pads you can have your ship fly to save as well as having the ability to command it to use rockets. so likely it's on autopilot
This is a total nitpick, but hear me out. Ness doesn't use magic, him and Lucas are psychics. I think the destinction is just cool to bring up because instead of spells or something they're using the power of their minds to manipulate the energies around them. PK fire is literally Ness igniting the air in a straight bolt with his thoughts.
I'm pretty sure Sakurai mentioned that he chose Mega Mewtwo Y as opposed to Mega Mewtwo X because of that form increasing Special Attack as opposed to Attack, and he said it was more fitting due to Mewtwo's playstyl
An additional note of Lucina in Smash Bros, her being a near exact clone of Marth, actually has story reference. From what little I've heard of Fire Emblem Awakening, supposedly, she had to impersonate Marth in that game, for a good reason. I have neither bought nor played Awakening myself, so I'm only going off what I heard. If that is true, her sharing the near identical moveset in Smash to Marth (except damage is fixed for Lucina, while Marth's attacks scale or descale in damage based on the distance or closeness to the tip of his sword upon hitting a target) actually makes allot of sense. As she's worked hard to attempt to mirror Marth likeness, down to basically his moveset in Smash Bros.
Your Yoshi partner in Thousand-Year Door can also learn a move called Stampede, which summons a giant herd of Yoshis to trample the enemy The final smash probably isn’t _based_ on that, but it could’ve been a source of inspiration
Just noticed that the “test dummy” that displays every character’s final smash (if there even is one involved) is the character whose final smash is going to be showcased next (except in brawl and smash 4, where if the character doesn’t exist, then it goes to the next one in line). Pretty cool!
The upwards thing Meta Knight does in his final smash might be based on an ability that is at least in return to dreamland, where Kirby with the sword ability or Meta Knight can hold up on the controls to hold their sword up, making their next normal swing shoot out a curved beam to damage enemies. Basically powering up the sword.
I don't see any other comments saying this, so fun fact: Final Smashes were planned for Smash 64. Multiple voicelines for different characters (ex: Pikachu and Ness) that sound similar to the voicelines in their current final smashes. (ex: Ness calling out for a PK Starstorm, or CF calling for his Blue Falcon.) If you took your time to read all of that, you're pretty cool.
The powered up versions of Kirby's abilities are officially referred to as Super Abilities, and there are five: Ultra Sword, Flare Beam, Monster Flame, Snow Bowl and Grand Hammer, being Super Ability versions of the Sword, Beam, Fire, Ice and Hammer abilities. As for Critical Hit, the animation for Marth and Lucina's actually also comes from Fire Emblem. The way they lift the sword in the air before lunging is a direct reference to Marth's critical hit animation in the _Shadow Dragon, Mystery of the Emblem_ and their remakes. Another fun fact is that the design of the health bars that show up when landing Critical Hit are different between Brawl and Smash 4/Ultimate. In Brawl, it uses the design that first appeared in _Mystery of the Emblem,_ while in Smash 4 and Ultimate, it was changed to the design seen in, fittingly, _Awakening._ Funnily enough, Corrin never used a move called Torrential Roar in _Fates,_ HOWEVER, the move _did_ eventually become canon to the Fire Emblem series as of _Engage._ In that game, Emblems are spirits based on Fire Emblem's past heroes, and amongst them is Emblem Corrin. When a unit is Engaged with an Emblem, they gain more powerful skills and access to a Once-Per-Engage use of an Engage Attack, basically a super move, and the Engage Attack gained when engaged with Emblem Corrin is, in fact, called Torrential Roar, which fires a massive stream of water that damages enemies in a line, leaving behind water tiles on the attacked area that reduce the evasion of anybody who stands in them. To be more specific on Grand Cross, Item Crashes are supercharged iterations of specific subweapon attacks. In particular, Grand Cross, as the name may imply, is the Item Crash that Richter can use when he has the Cross.
54:22 - They technically are. Proto Man is Mega Man’s older brother by production (the main differences being that he was built for combat right off the bat and is nuclear-powered instead of solar) while Bass is basically central villain Doctor Albert Wily’s attempt to beat Mega Man by making his own (seeing as making or stealing specialized robot fighters, specially creating anti-Mega Man units, directly duping Mega Man himself by various means, and basically everything else he’s ever tried all failed), the key difference being that Bass is powered by an experimental power source he accidentally discovered and later dubbed Bassnium.
In response to asking who pilots Samus's ship in ridley's final smash I like to think it's olimar. Crashing ships (especially out of hus control) is kind of his signature.
7:40 in Paper mario : the thousand years door, you get a yoshi that when upgraded can use a skill where he summons an army of yoshis to run over the ennemies and it is called stampede
Small thing about Joker's final smash: In Persona 5, the splash screen doesn't happen if you don't kill all the enemies, and Futaba has a "secret" all-out attack where she drops a bomb on the enemies, so she can actually appear in an all-out attack.
I watched this whole video in one day, go me! Absolutely amazing video. Very well-researched too! P.S. I just wanted to add that in the Hero's Final Smash, the Dragon Quest 10 protagonist appearing there marks their first appearance overseas, as DQ10 used to be exclusive to Japan.
Teeny correction regarding the Three Sacred Treasures, he actually uses the Wings of Pegasus in the battle against Medusa. You can only really tell by the changed wing glow color from blue when Palutena is granting the Power of Flight to pink when he's using the Wings of Pegasus. This even carries if you go back to the chapter without the Three Sacred Treasures, as Palutena will have him bring it anyways just in case.
I JUST finished watching this and NOW you make a super cut.Time to re watch it I guess. Edit:Oooo never mind it’s a definitive edition with changes and not lazily put together like other TH-camrs.

"Marketing gimmick". Yes, it is technically a marketing gimmick, but bro, don't you remember? Sakurai has literally said they've had the idea for Final Smashes since development for Smash 64. They even recorded Captain Falcon's "Come on, Blue Falcon!" voice line back then, because they really did plan that far ahead.
46:57 Well, Lucario actually CAN reach 1.8x aura, provided it's behind in stocks. This gives various multipliers depending if it's down 1 or 2+ stocks, as well as the number of players in the match. The highest it can reach is 2x in Smash 4, when behind 2 stocks or more in a 4-player match. Aura ultimately is still capped at 1.8x.
A trivia note on that first bit... Final Smashes werent a new idea for Brawl, and were conceived of as far back as the very first game. IIRC sound clips exist suggesting this, one being Ness' PK StarStorm
The first way you pronounced Yune 'Yoon' was heard in Fire Emblem Heroes. The second way 'Yoo-nay' was heard in Radiant Dawn. Both are right, but I'm used to the 'Yoon' pronunciation because I heard it more compared to the Radiant Dawn pronunciation of 'Yoo-nay'.
Small correction for when you talk about the support mechanic in Peace Walker: Peace Walker actually does let you request support fire. You have to use a separate type of marker which when activated has the area where it was placed fired upon from an offscreen vehicle. I think changing Snakes’s final smash was a poor decision. His old one was actually based on something he did. His new one is based on something that a different Metal Gear character did. He never had access to air strikes in his games.
Seeing as Snake in Smash is a combination of Big Boss and Solid Snake anyways, I don't see the issue. It's kind of a neat way to acknowledge more of the franchise in his moveset.
Fun fact, in the Pokemon Adventures manga's Emerald Arc, you see a bunch of trainer combine their attacks and they yell out "Triple Finish". This chapter was part of Volume 29, which was released on November 27th, 2008. Smash Bros Brawl was released on January 21st, 2008. So Brawl probably influenced the manga
Bowser Ultimate FS is a reference to his fights in the two Super Mario Galaxy games, where he is larger than normal, floats around in space, and punches towards the player, just like the Final Smash
Question: On Shadow Moses Island, when the spotlight turns on it can spot players. This seems to be just aesthetic, but I wonder… If you hide in a box using Snake’s taunts, would the spotlight “catch” you?
The thing about the consecutive attacks in Greninja's final smash being Night Slash is that, while the name in japanese is different, it still references the same thing; Feudal samurai basically mugging civilians during the night.
i would've liked if they fused the light arrows final smash and the new triforce of wisdom for Zelda in ultimate. As you stated on the video, Zelda is heavily tied to the light arrows through all the games, and i love the new final smash, but it would be cool if just before the seal is done, she tooks out the bow and arrow and gives one last blow to end their opponents before they get sealed.

Hot take but Triforce Slash is better than Ancient Arrow, it just looks cooler and I'd rather have a cool looking original final smash than a boring looking reference final smash

He uses Bowser Jr’s on Duck Hunt, then Duck Hunt’s on Ryu, then Ryu’s on Cloud (for smash 4 footage, cuz Ken wasn’t in smash 4) and Ken (for smash ultimate footage), then Ken’s on Cloud
It looks like the motions in Max Malicious moonsault were kind of inspired by the Kinnikuman anime, because of how Incineroar hits you higher and higher then turns you on your front crashing down.
That is not true in the slightest. Kirby: Right Back at Ya didn’t begin until around 2000 in Japan. Kirby’s Dreamland was first released on the Game Boy in 1992.
@@MorrisPXG By that logic, every pokemon counts as well. Every pokemon use their anime cries instead of the ones from the games (Pikachu got its anime cry in the games much later and has now mostly reverted to a version of its old cry), especially Mewtwo and Lucario since they talk, a trait basically exclusive to the anime (the Mystery Dungeons don't count because almost every pokemon talks in them). Neutral 🙃 Special 🙃
I've been complaining about this since the game came out, they really should have given Dark Pit the Chariot instead of Pit.
Ok hear me out: Triforce slash as the final attack on ganondorf in TOTK. Meshes with flurry rush so could be naturally implemented like the final hit in BOTW. Also it'd be sick as hell.
Ok yes
@Sar it never really does anything. The most it does is identify the hero and has had some interactions with the Twilight
That would be really funny, especially since Link in Smash doesn’t even use Triforce slash anymore
as cool as that sounds, doesn't really fit the botw/totk art style
What does TOTK mean
Fun fact, Great Aether and Torrential Roar were made into Ike and Corrin's engage attacks in Fire Emblem Engage, finally making these attacks canon 5 years after Ultimate's release
my brother has a funny idea for krools final smash that ive honestly just started accepting. when krool lands after the final smash he points at himself like "yeah i did that". the idea is that instead of actually warping you to dk island and blowing you up, he just tells you about what he was gonna do and then you spontaniously explode. i know thats not whats happening but i love it
K. Rools plan was so evil that you explode when hearing it.
Literally blows up pancakes (target) with mind
This is such a K. Rool thing to do, he’s so eloquent that his threat just convinces you to explode in obedience
This is an incredible power

Me watching the victim of my final Smash see me explain the terrifying actions I will commit on DK Island (a kremling put a pipe bomb next to them for when I'm done talking).
4:46 in Botw the ancient bow is actually able to shoot trough shields. But every final Smash ignores shields anyway..
The ancient arrow wasn’t a bad idea tbh
The move sometimes jacks
I love the tiny detail that the CPU that gets hit with the Final Smash is always the next character that is going to be explained
Pretty dark type thing to do
Also definitely not a secret ninja attack.
Personally, if they had to keep the triforce slash, I think it would have been better for young link to transform into fierce deity, stun the opponent with a sword beam, then rush in. And for toon link, I think it'd be neat if he split into four links, then did a flurry of attacks.
But the Four Swords Link isn't the same as Toon Link.
@Craige Goad they also have Toon Link as the conductor on the spirit tracks stage even though that is the Wind Waker Link's direct decendant, I don't think it would matter too much
He does do something similar in Hyrule warriors
You are the GOAT for including the songs you used in the description. Not enough people do that, which is a shame especially since it's hard to find video game songs without knowing the title.
I just wanna point out smth about the Inklings :
When they have their final smash ready, you can see their hair glows and sparks a bit, as they do in the original game when they filled up their specials
Every game their tentacles glow, but yeah it does seem more noticeable in 1
Spoilers:
And in octo expansion pearl's tentacles glow when using the princess cannon (an altered version of the killer wail)
I actually never knew you could hold down the speed button with Pac-Man's final smash from SSB4. I really like that detail.
29:06 the pose he takes after the final slash very closely resembles his render in Kirby Air Ride, so that could be a reference there, especially since Air Ride was the last Kirby game directed by Sakurai.
Worth noting about Sora's Final Smash:
It's 100% a reference to him sealing the door to darkness.
Metroid forever?
Awesome work with all this! The effort and result is very much appreciated~
Just wanna add two addendums:
-Triple Finish was featured in the Pokémon manga at the end of one of the major story arcs.
Wait which manga is that?
The main reason pichu takes damage isn't because of the recoil damage from volt tackle (though it may be related) it's actually because in a pokedex entry for pichu it says that pichu don't yet know how to control their electric powers so they often end up shocking themselves. Which just sounds adorable
I like how you described Demon Kazuya as “a very demonic-looking demon”
This made me realize how much I miss the weird Brawl Final Smashes and being able to control some of them, which unlike Ultimate doesn’t stop the fight to a halt (especially if you’re playing with multiple and they have to sit and wait for the cutscene to finish), and isn’t a cutscene final smash. I miss being able to control Giga Bowser/Mac, the Landmaster, Luigi’s funny weird negative zone and even the short rhythm game of DK’s Bongos.
Fun fact about Ganondorf’s final smash in Ultimate:
The sword slash at the start as a spike-effect.
It also happens once certain criteria are met, more passive than going out and moving/upgrading your house for an _unholy_ price for a _minuscule_ amount of storage by comparison-
Just adding, not trying to start anything)
I like the idea of the victory screen showing during shepiroth’s final smash but with one small change. Instead of GAME popping up at the beginning have it pop up as the earth is disintegrating and have the result show with empty space where the planet was.
I think that the reason for meta knight having two pairs of wings in his final smash is the fact that in older kirby games he used to have wings under his cape, while in the newer games his cape just turns to wings and the final smash refrences both
really cool to see a compilation with actual effort put into it
It would have been very cool if dr. Mario’s final smash put all players in a jar and you could control pills that drop into the jar, allowing you to smush the players and then dodge it.
a little fun thing that happened a bit recently regarding evo moment 37-
i was in gamestop and was talking to one of the clerks (im a regular there so they know me) and i was talking about my science fair project and how i did it on video game and the correlation with reaction times. for the science fair, we had to make a research paper which was really boring and i hated doing it, but i managed to slip in a few well known moments in gaming, including evo moment 37. i am quite young, and i wasn't born when it happened, but it was that well known. so i told the clerk and he and the guy he was attending to popped off. its funny

I actually never saw that fluid as blood. You see, the enemies in the game (which are called Shadows), make themselves manifest from puddles of sludge on the ground. I always saw the fluid as that very same sludge spewing out from their insides as their bodies collapse.
i like how when you were showcasing the final smashes the target was the next character on the character list. nice detail
Don't forget that Bowser's is also a reference to the final boss of Yoshi's Island
It very well could be, but the punching aspect of it seems a lot more likely inspired from Mario Galaxy 2's Bowser fights imo
I’d like to point out that Ike’s Great Aether is now in Fire Emblem: Engage, and can be performed by whoever is Engaged with him
Same thing with Corrin and Torrential Roar
PJiggles: Nice final smash, Sakurai, why don't you back it up with a source?
Sakurai: My source is that I made it the fuck up.
5:36 I think origin is actually pretty clear that it's inspired by Samus ultimate move the Kamehameha that she learned from the turtle Metroid
As she's worked hard to attempt to mirror Marth likeness, down to basically his moveset in Smash Bros.
...Could have just been an alt like Bowser Jr and the Koopalings, then
Not to be a jerk, I'm just really not a fan of how much they Copy+Paste
It was to inspire the people to fight Grima who was bringing the world to ruin. And who better to bring inspiration than the Legendary Hero King
Still wish Greninja had that massive Water Shuriken from the anime/tcg. Giving Terry his Stardust Ignition would be cool too
I think Yoshi’s Final Smash, while being visually based off his intro might also be from Thousand Year Door.
I just realized that every opponent that he uses the final smash against is the next one shown. This absolute madlad
bro the negative zone was so unique and just imagine how it would’ve been in smash ultimate
Your Yoshi partner in Thousand-Year Door can also learn a move called Stampede, which summons a giant herd of Yoshis to trample the enemy
The final smash probably isn’t _based_ on that, but it could’ve been a source of inspiration
(ex: Ness calling out for a PK Starstorm, or CF calling for his Blue Falcon.)
If you took your time to read all of that, you're pretty cool.
In Brawl, it uses the design that first appeared in _Mystery of the Emblem,_ while in Smash 4 and Ultimate, it was changed to the design seen in, fittingly, _Awakening._
Funnily enough, Corrin never used a move called Torrential Roar in _Fates,_ HOWEVER, the move _did_ eventually become canon to the Fire Emblem series as of _Engage._ In that game, Emblems are spirits based on Fire Emblem's past heroes, and amongst them is Emblem Corrin.
30:23 you ever notice how all of the footage people use of Kid Icarus Uprising is from Chuggaconroy's lets play of the game?
It's a good letsplay, what else can I really say?

Aura ultimately is still capped at 1.8x.
i cant believe that this video is longer than the mario movie
They couldn't have kept it with how fast Ultimate is
@@velvetbutterfly They could have turned it into one of those cinematic final smashes.

The reason why Mega Mewtwo Y was used was because it was heavily advertised as Mewtwo’s “Main” Mega Evolution (Genesect Movie)
