As for me, your oven cleaning video was one that I needed to see. I particularly found the way you cleaned the oven’s glass….by using easy off and covering the glass with plastic wrap and allowing it to set and clean, then using a useful razor to scrape the debris before turning on the self cleaning mode. I also know about Simple Green, but will try it on my oven grates. Very informative. Thank you.
My oven’s best is generally what your worst might be! I was inspired and shocked. The glass tip was 100% successful. The racks didn’t hit in an underbed bin but I improvised with plastic sheeting and boards. Voila!! Thank you!!
I really, really needed to see this video. My oven desperately needs a cleaning. It looks absolutely horrible. I need to go out and find that Simple Green and some of those blue gloves and get to work. Thanks for the inspiration and the instruction!
This is exactly what I needed!! I have been trying to get my oven racks clean and haven’t been able to have any success. I can’t wait to try your amazing Simple Green tip❤
I believe I have the same oven as you. You can also easily take the door off completely to get to the back to clean if your arms are not long enough. (Women understand.😋)
I started using baking bags for everything I cook in the oven. I never have burnt on food or a messy oven door since I started the baking bags. I just cleaned my oven, first time in one year. I could have just wiped it out but I gave it’s once a year deep clean. Love those oven bags they sure are a time saver no mess at all.
Love the Simple Green trick! I noticed you use Sprayway Stainless Steel cleaner. You should try their glass cleaner. It works so well we always say it's secret ingredient is magic! I just recently learned it's safe for cleaning glass on gas fireplaces because it does not contain ammonia. It smells nice too. Just thought I'd share. Your oven turned out great! Guess I should do mine.
Sprayway Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish is the best stainless steel cleaner & Polish is the best ever I have used. I also have used their glass cleaner yet like Windex better. I use the stainless steel cleaner and Polish to shine my stainless kitchen sink and the sink really takes on a high shine.
Hi Kevin! Yes, my oven is definitely in need of a good cleaning 😀Thanks for the motivation and seeing your before oven pics was reassuring to the rest of us that real life cooking isn't always sparkling clean! Now, I'm off to pick up some simple green 🧽
Clean racks easy!! Put racks in large trash bag and pour a cup of ammonia in the bag. Close the bag, try to leave air inside bag before closing the bag. The ammonia fumes will take all the grease off. You can also put the grates you set your pans on. Best if you can let this set for at least 12 hours. I think you will be amazed.
I used the self cleaning cycle and fried the oven. When we bought a new oven, I was told not to use the self cleaning cycle but to put a container with water in a hot oven and steam it. Thank you for sharing this info.
I recently had some expensive repairs performed on my range - the technician told me the damage was caused by the very high-heat cleaning cycle and not to use it. He suggested putting an ammonia/water solution in a shallow pan and steaming the oven grease off.
Oven manufacturers were daft to make oven doors with the double glass. A day after I got a new oven some greasy drips got in between the glass. Too much trouble to dismantle the door to clean as it will just get dirty again very quickly.
Poetry!! I wanted to clean my oven for a while. When I do, I never achieve those results. I put a lot of work for a rather mediocre result. I will certainly give it a try.
Hi Kevin, I’m amazed at how your oven cleaned up. I have never tried the clean cycle method for my oven but that is going to change! I’m amazed at how the racks was cleaned by the Simple Green! Thank you for this wonderful video! ❤
My oven is not nearly as handsome as yours with its blue interior...I did not know such things existed. You did an excellent job and who knew simple green works wonders! Now I do...lol I can't wait to buy my next oven with blue interior xoxo 😘 💕
Wow that's a nice oven and I love wall ovens up off the floor since I'm tall. I just did my racks outside with SOS pads but your way looks much better with the simple green. And the glass door trick - going to do that on the next rainy day!
Kevin I take a large plastic garbage bag, then I put my oven racks in it, one per bag. Then I take the easy off oven cleaner and spray each rack from both sides really well , push most of the air out of the bags and close it. Leave it at least 12 hours till next morning. Then you can just wash the grime off like you did with your glass door, same thing very minimal scrubbing with the sponge.
Wow! I can't applaud you enough for this video. I didn't know I could use the spray on the glass front. I thought only the auto clean was permitted. I am going to get both of the products you suggested to use in addition to the auto-clean I do a GREAT DEAL OF COOKING, and appreciate many of your recipes, BUT THIS PARTICULAR VIDEO is so helpful to me and I suspect others, too. Thank you so much.
Hello Mr. k,,, I was kind of surprised to see a dirty rack/oven in yr home considering you look impeccably clean. Thank you for letting us see the ‘human’ in the otherwise Stylish home. I know now how to clean my oven, which I hardly use as I have a small toaster oven that is easy to clean and perfect to use. I just came across your utube site and will definitely try yr pizza and the asparagus pie that looks yum. I love to cook and enjoy preparing appetizers and different dishes for my 3 grandchildren- mom & dad get a break when some weekends Grammy cooks them many dishes to take home. Blessings from Houston ♥️🙏
Thanks for the tips, in the event that I should ever clean an oven again. Simple Green is great. It gets engine oil off driveways too. I had to laugh when I saw that you were doing this for us. Your oven looks great, brand spanking new.
I use 1 cup of ammonia in a black trash bag and let it sit outside in the sun for 6-8 hours letting the fumes loosen the crud. But this must be done outdoors as you know the fumes are strong. I may try the simple green method. Love having a clean oven. You looked so proud when you finished ! Thanks for posting an interesting, informative video!
I've been considering doing that for my oven racks and stove grates, but now that I've seen the Simple Green at work I'd rather try that first. I was leery of dealing with the ammonia afterwards.
Just in time for the Jewish holidays. Boy, did I ever need to see this. I switched from electric to gas. I hated the electric burners and oven but your tips will work for me just fine.
I like the under the bed storage container idea! I’ve seen other people recommend using a large plastic trash bag and that seemed cumbersome. Now I need to try your idea. Thanks!
I have been so afraid to use the clean cycle on my oven, just because of the high heat and the door lock. I just have little confidence in it. But i should resolve tomuse it before the summer hits. Thanks for this video, its inspirational!
After watching your video I was in the kitchen soaking my oven glass like you showed and then I proceeded to turn on my oven cleaning mechanism and let it do it’s thing and then cleaned the outside. I like to do this during cool weather so I can have my windows open so my house doesn’t have that awful smell. I’ll have to get some of the Simple Green to try on my racks. I already had the Sprayway glass cleaner you used that I discovered from another TH-camr a couple years ago. That stuff is the best! Thank you for getting my oven cleaned today!!!
So happy to find this period I spilt bacon grease in the bottom of my brand new oven and it's smoked like crazy. Turn all the inner fixtures Brown. So glad to find this.
Thanks Kevin, for this great video for performing a task that most of us loathe tackling, but know that it eventually has to be done. Your cleaning method looked pretty painless!
You can also put the racks in a large trash bag, add about 1/2 cup of ammonia and seal the bag. Let sit for a few hours, then scrub clean with an sos. The ammonia fumes eat into the gunk. Obviously, clean in a well-ventilated area. It works very well!
Hi Kevin. I watched one of your cleaning videos Friday night (I mentally preparing for my fall kitchen clean) and decided to try your technique for cleaning the microwave and using the terry cloth heated in the microwave for the cabinets. It worked so well I ended up trying in other areas of my home and really enjoyed myself!! Now I can't wait to try the tips in this video for my oven!
Hi Kevin, I have a oven/microwave combo but the interior and racks in the oven are identical to yours. I set the self cleaning on the oven then soaked the oven racks per your video; the results were amazing, so clean and sparkling. I've used Simple Green for over 30 years, but never for the oven racks. Thank you so much for the viideo.
Yes! My oven is in need of cleaning! Since I live in Europe, I will have to look for products here that are just as strong as what you showed. I used to have a self-cleaning oven, but after my kitchen fire, the insurance did not pay for a new self-cleaning oven. NOT that that was the cause of the fire!!! They also didn't cover but about 50% of my damages - but I got over that and still enjoy cooking!
Thank you! I was telling a friends that my oven needed cleaning and I just keep putting it off. You video makes me want to tackle that job. I’ll be going to hardware store first for some Simple Green!
I absolutely love when you share cleaning tips, does that make me weird? Lol. My husband and I are still microwaving the micro cleaning cloths to wipe down cabinets, etc from your other cleaning video.
Thank you for your video , I used it to update my skill about clean oven and micro onde inside a shelter as a volunteer. I have take some note about the step ... Thank you!
Oh my gosh. Thank you for this video! This is very helpful! I would love to know how to clean the cast iron grates on my stovetop if you know the proper way. I so appreciate the fact that you so freely share this information.
Hi Kevin, while the clean oven is inspirational & has reminded me that mine is seriously dirty! So thanks for the great tips. Now, my request; would you update us and show your beautiful pets? It seems awhile since we've seen them and they're adorable. Thanks Kevin!
I don't have a self cleaning cycle. Mine cleans with hot water, and I'm never satisfied with the results. I picking up some simple clean to try. I hates rubbing racks and that looks like it really works well. Tnx for the info and the little scrubbers also.
My self cleaning option has stopped working. The last time I used it, it would not turn off or unlock the door. I had to flip my circuit breaker and it finally unlocked. Not ready to replace it yet but I will try simple green for tbe racks. I have also heard good things about it. I will also try using cling wrap to let the oven cleaner work more efficiently. Thanks for the tip!
Hi Kevin…I used your method when cleaning my oven and it worked like a charm! Now that I know how to use this method…I will be cleaning my oven more often. Thanks for sharing!
Ty so much Kevin I use to put my racks in a garbage bage with Clorox and they also came out pretty clean but I'm going to get some Simple Green and clean mine too. Have a blessed dsy
Very interesting! I'll have to try the Simple Green on my oven racks. When I purchased my home in 2021, it came with a fairly new gas range, however, my c1950 Florida cottage home was a rental property for about 30 years, so you can just imagine the projects I have! What great tips. I, too, have a self cleaning oven that is rarely cleaned. The rack trick is great. Simple Green it is. And, the cling wrap idea is also terrific. Tomorrows task!
Great video, Kevin! My mother-in-law swore by Simple Green, but I use Original Blue Dawn dishwashing detergent. It's the detergent/degreaser I always have on hand to use in my homemade cleaning solutions, including DIY laundry soap. I soak my oven racks in the bathtub overnight -- hot water and 1/4 cup of Dawn -- and sponge them off in the morning. Slick and easy, probably less expensive than Simple Green, too. Now I need to find the microwave cleaning video mentioned by another viewer!!
Thanks to you both. I have used Simple Green for my cars' allow wheels for decades. (Literally!) But have Dawn around as well. Can't wait to try these both. Afraid I may have scrubbed the chrome off our racks already. But next cleaning I'll try these instead.
well, I thought I'd get through the day without learning anything new....but noooo, there you are using cling wrap on your oven door window!! Since my oven looks a lot like your "before", I'll give your ideas a try very soon. Cheers Kevin.
Hi Kevin! Love your shows!! I clean my oven shelves with stainless steel scourers( must use stainless steel) with hot water and washing up liquid if you have not got special cleaner to hand I have been doing this for years! You can also use baby oil for the outer stainless steel they use it in appliance showrooms, finish off with oil and it really does help with finger prints! ❤
I just said 2 days ago that the oven has got to be cleaned! I think I'll tackle it today! You are always inspiring me! I made your cheese straws yesterday and they were marvelous! I made your petition fours last week and they were amazing as well!
The oven looks fantastic. Just like new. If you're still in the mood you're welcome to clean my oven. LOL. If not, hopefully I will have it done before the baseball game comes on. Have a great day.
Okay Kevin, you got me!! My oven is decidedly disgusting at present! Unlike yours it's floor height so I find once I get down on my knees to clean it.....I can't get up again!! So much for excuses. Mine isn't self cleaning but at least half the job can be done using your recommended Simple Green. I've checked, we can buy it here in the UK. I do have some Bar Keepers Friend too so I'll give the inside of the oven a try with that. ANYTHING will be better than it currently is! Thanks for a truly sparkling video, as always! Huge Hugzz, Steve and his Filthy Oven! :o))
Wow! It’s perfect! I’m making a list of kitchen cleaning supplies now. I love that the interior of your oven is indigo blue. I have the same kitchen aid mixer as you in the same blue, except that my bowl is stainless. Also, I made your puff pastry blueberry cheese Danish this afternoon. I’m bingeing your videos. 😊
As for me, your oven cleaning video was one that I needed to see. I also know about Simple Green, but will try it on my oven grates. Very informative. Thank you.
Nothing more satisfying than a clean, sparkling oven!
Simple Green works great ! My husband drove trucks for years. Simple Green will even take axle grease off of clothing. Thanks for this video.
My oven’s best is generally what your worst might be! I was inspired and shocked. The glass tip was 100% successful. The racks didn’t hit in an underbed bin but I improvised with plastic sheeting and boards. Voila!! Thank you!!

Oven manufacturers were daft to make oven doors with the double glass. A day after I got a new oven some greasy drips got in between the glass. Too much trouble to dismantle the door to clean as it will just get dirty again very quickly.
I’ve got to clean MY oven now! Tomorrow, Simple Green at the store…

The best oven cleaners on TH-cam
1st I want to thank you for this video. I did not think it was gonna work. It is a game changer thank you thank you thank you.
Totally helpful & a big reminder to clean min as well!! Thank you!!

Just in time for the Jewish holidays. Boy, did I ever need to see this. I switched from electric to gas. I hated the electric burners and oven but your tips will work for me just fine.
Good to see you wearing some colour other than black.
When he wears blue …. It enhances his gorgeous eye color. 👍
I like the under the bed storage container idea! I’ve seen other people recommend using a large plastic trash bag and that seemed cumbersome. Now I need to try your idea. Thanks!
Bravo! My oven is not self cleaning, so I use Easy off Fume Free- it works pretty well, but I will enjoy soaking the racks in Simple Green.

Simple Green is great stuff, my husband is a retired auto mechanic, he’s used it for years.
💜Spraying the racks in the yard with oven cleaner then put in a big green plastic bag for a few hours works very well also🌸💜
Yes! My oven is in need of cleaning! Since I live in Europe, I will have to look for products here that are just as strong as what you showed. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks Kevin! I’m going to try this. My hands always get so sore from scrubbing my oven racks!
sparkled like starlight- loved that! Thank you Kevin- so helpful!
Thank you for the advise on simple green, I will try it on my Barbecue and stove racks. Thank you again.
I absolutely love when you share cleaning tips, does that make me weird? Lol. My husband and I are still microwaving the micro cleaning cloths to wipe down cabinets, etc from your other cleaning video.
Wow! I'm especially interested in the way you cleaned the inside of the glass.
It’s very simple. I just adore you! 🙂💕 And that brussels sprouts plant in your garden is a beauty. Mine only go half as high☺️
Hi Kevin…I used your method when cleaning my oven and it worked like a charm! Now that I know how to use this method…I will be cleaning my oven more often. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad!!!
Ty so much Kevin I use to put my racks in a garbage bage with Clorox and they also came out pretty clean but I'm going to get some Simple Green and clean mine too. Have a blessed dsy
Really good video. So professional. Must say, though, I enjoyed it more when I opted for 1.25 speed.
Hi what a pretty picture you've on your profile! Just decided to stop by and say Hi!! I hope my compliment is appreciated 😊
Very interesting! I'll have to try the Simple Green on my oven racks. When I purchased my home in 2021, it came with a fairly new gas range, however, my c1950 Florida cottage home was a rental property for about 30 years, so you can just imagine the projects I have! Apparently, when the tenants actually cleaned the oven at all, they used the self-cleaning cycle with no prep. I can clean the inside and outside of the glass, but I'd have to remove the door and dismantle it to clean all the grease that has been forced in between the oven glass panels, which is what happens when you use the self-clean cycle with no prep! Additionally, about two months into living here, the heating sensor in the oven died. Criminy! The repairman said that with this model and the fact that it's a gas oven, I should never use the self-clean cycle unless I want to replace the heat sensor every other year. Yikes! Consequently, I'm an EZ-Off girl, and it does a fine job if you follow the directions. It's not recommended for oven racks, however, so I'll definitely try the Simple Green soak!
What great tips. I, too, have a self cleaning oven that is rarely cleaned. The rack trick is great. Simple Green it is. And, the cling wrap idea is also terrific. Tomorrows task!
Wow , the stove looks new.
Wow, I learned a couple of things! Thanks for the instruction.
I'd love to see more of your gardening.
Great video to demo proper cleaning techniques for our ovens. Thank you so much! I will give some of those items a try. Have a great day! ☺💚🙏
Love, love love this Video!! It works like nothing I've tried before
Amazing. Yes, my oven is in need of a good cleaning. Thank you for the demonstration.
I just said 2 days ago that the oven has got to be cleaned! I think I'll tackle it today! You are always inspiring me! I made your cheese straws yesterday and they were marvelous! I made your petition fours last week and they were amazing as well!
Glad you enjoyed the cheese straws and the petit four!
Wow Kevin thanks for that video! That Simple Green trick is amazing. Now my oven sparkles like yours.
Glad the video was helpful to you!
After this…tackle dish drainer Jenga in a small galley kitchen.
You’re awesome!
I have the same double oven. Going to get simple green.
I love how real your channel is! That is amazing! I'm going to try this!
wow great job Kevin ,
Hi what a pretty picture you've on your profile! Just decided to stop by and say Hi!! I hope my compliment is appreciated 😊
The oven looks fantastic. Just like new. If you're still in the mood you're welcome to clean my oven. LOL. If not, hopefully I will have it done before the baseball game comes on. Have a great day.
Wow what a difference! Thanks for sharing this, I recently found your channel and so glad I did🤗🤗🤗
Kevin! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I will now clean my oven too.
I’m definitely going to try the simple green.
Washing soda works really well on oven racks, too.
Multi talented, Mr. Jacobs. BIG FAN!
You did such a fabulous job on your oven. I will try this too. Merci!
Your amazing is there anything you don't do? Your oven looks spectacular
Hot darn! I'm getting me some Simple Green. I can never get the racks clean. Thanks!
Goodness yes, I am going to go buy that cleaner!
Looks brand new!!
Holy crap, looks great! Such great tips, too. Thanks Kevin
Wow! Great advertising for Simple Green. They should be your sponsor, Kevin. Appreciate this very much. Just subscribed.
Hi Sheri - Thank you for subscribing! (I'm too lazy to contact Simple Green -- they do not know that I sang hosannahs for their product!)
Very helpful, now my oven door & racks will sparkle ✨ too 😂. Thank you.
Thank you for your video. I have a Thermador Pro Grand Steam Range/Oven Culinary Center in dire need of cleaning. Appreciate your tips!!!👍😀
I use the self cleaner to clean my racks.... They are not as shiny but they work fine !
Remarkable…gonna be picking up so Simple Green

Wow! Thank you for showing this video! My oven will get a cleaning soon.
I have asked so many questions on older videos and you ne’er answer. I still adore you, what am I doing wrong
I have responded to several of your questions -- do my replies not appear for you?
Another very timely video! I'm going to pick up all the goodies and get cleaning! Thank you again!
How wonderful you are part of my life. Your recipes are the best. How did you appear?

Can’t put it off any longer. ……have to clean my oven. Best tip for me was plastic wrap on inside of glass. Thank you.
Great Video! I am watching this the weekend before Thanksgiving! So it's inspirational to get me to clean in preparation!
Wow! That's amazing, Kevin!
Love those white roses --from your garden?
Glad you like the roses! They are from a friend's garden. (Boxwood stems mixed in with the roses are from my garden!)
