Lol, got to love when the streamer is also so proud of using one. Like Nadia who on many times has said she needs a Cronus to play and was upset that COD LAN event wouldn’t let her bring her Cronus to the live event. That should let you know that it is cheating to use it if the game developers won’t let you bring one to use.
I still don't understand that event, Nadia is the COD industries worst kept secret, how they even thought it was okay to invite her to the event baffles me especially since they had the foresight to ban the Cronus mod.
But to be honest, if you are at an event you should be forced to play KBM, those events are meant to show skill, no controller player will ever beat a top-level KBM player.

Obviously they shouldn't be allowed, although I think the problem is detecting them. It really kills the competitive scene for console with how popular the device is it wouldn't be surprising to find out everyone at the top of console was using one. I've heard you can use them on PC too, not sure how that works though.

Take me for example, I’m in the military and I barely get to hope online, and whenever I do it’s always try hards and people that play professionally that I get put up against. As a software developer, I am intrigued and impressed by the level of sophistication of modern mods/cheats. As a gamer, I am disgusted that people use these things in PvP gaming.
Console gamers always get mad at me even if you get rid of PC cross-play you still have cheaters and hackers. "But it's not possible" stuff like this existed as far as back as the good old Nintendo Entertainment System.

@@Username-2 Activision could take them to court over damages to their IP's long standing reputation, there's a case to be made there, but it would be hard and these cheater makers are as slimy as the execs printing money from these games.
There has got to be a way for them to detect any peripheral devices connected to the controller and have the game disable them. That has to be an option…
There is a way, propriety USB cables that send data both ways, you could then detect if a device is between the console and the controller, this won't work for any wireless cheat hardware but that's a different issue.

Exactly, that's how you know something is up. If a gun has ridiculous recoil, no amount of attachments is going to fix that problem. I play on PC, and so many of those "no recoil" classes I've tried have been absolute garbage.

I use something like this. But it doesn't load scripts, i use it for the ability to use mouse and keyboard. Although my mouse is capable of using script/macros i dont use them. Kinda stopped using them along time ago.

@@RyZeDHD i dont use it for anti recoil and stuff like that. I use it for single playere games with a really high deadzone to lower it and to fix other stuff like that, i never use it to cheat. I have how ever tried the anti recoil and aimassist options out of curiosity and i can tell you that if you are decent at the game it will only slow you down instead of helping, it is only usefull for really bad players.

We sell those at GameStop. First time I saw them I was baffled, they literally say on the box that it contains mods, all of which are "illegal" in game. Fortnite aim abuse, mortal Kombat easy fatality, unlimited sprint and aimbot in call of duty, just to name a few.

This started innocently with Xim with PC people wanting to play with friends on consoles before crossplay was available but not being able to use a controller since they were used to mouse and keyboard. Now it's turned into all out nightmare with all these scripts.

It just seems kinda sus that all the bug warzone streamers and youtubers all have perfect aim and laser recoil with just about every gun they use, regardless of attachments. I was watching jackfrags and weastie play warzone the other day and they were beaming people with no recoil on some of their guns. I figured maybe it was some of the attachments they had but if you go try that exact same thing yourself, it doesn't really work

if the device is "smart" enough to know what weapon you're currently using then said device is pulling information from some where. maybe the controller vibration settings are different for each weapon and sent from console memory to controller then pulled from device? either way the device is interacting with game memory is some capacity. this is kind of interesting because the limitations of an external device are much further than this simple scripting.
Wouldn’t the easiest solution be if you use this device you only play in lobbies with other that use it? I get it’s undetectable but like an honor system settings toggle. I’d think you’d feel 1000 times more hype knowing you bodied others using this as opposed to a regular player, like where is the challenge in that?
It would be easy enough to detect, at least with OEM controllers. you'd put a firmware checksum into the controller. "allow or disallow" would depend on the server/game.

Never safe, welcome to the PC Master Race. A console is built from the same components as a PC. Just consoles have their own Operating System. Instead of windows 10, Xbox has their own interface, same for PlayStation. Is it harder to mod on console? Yes. Is it impossible. Very much not.
I have played quite a bit of Apex Legends the last 18 months, getting to diamond rank, I have seen players moving or melting others in a way that just should not be commonly seen. They are definitley Cronos cheating.
I recommend never "investing" to much of your mental health into advancing ranks in a game unless you also just buy the Cronos, which I did not.

I remember one time in siege I shot the last player through the wall 5 seconds before the round ended because I had nothing to lose and didn't think he'd be dumb enough to hide behind a breachable wall. Everyone accused me of cheating, even my own team and it was just a lucky shot.
Yea that happened to me on world at war, spawned an fired a random shot from the hip with a sniper( it was a LAN free for all and we did this to show where we spawn, few players) I got a head shot through walls and was blamed for cheating. Just lucky shot

Recently been getting into PUBG pretty heavily been grinding on ranked with some Random’s, I hear a lot about the Cronus zen on that game, I see what they mean now, what I’m in the top 5 I end up getting beamed with an AR with no recoil far away
I'm of 3 minds on this topic, my gut reaction is disdain for cheaters and a visceral desire to see a series of anticheat detection programs implemented.
But on a second thought I have early onset arthritis and have had to give up using semi auto weapons in my kits because I get trigger finger so easily now, I was a tournement player for halo 2, I cried while playing halo 5 knowing I had to give up on the franchise because it revolves arpund semi autos. A device which can give me full auto on my triggers is genuinely what I need if devs wont add accessibility options like destiny 2 did.
The third position is one i was informwd of by an old friend, he and I played battlefield since BF2 and are now solidly top 1% players and likely to be the two most influential players on any server that isn't an organized clan match and even then we will still be driving the match up. He plays more than i do these days and he realized about 60% plus of the tip players are using cronus zens and to compete fairly he felt he needed one, I blame DICE for not rate limiting the semi auto fire rates in their games and for being to easy to manipulate with aim adjust scripts, people are using semi auto weapons with full auto burst teiggers, auto aim and recoil mods to fire something like an m1 garand like it's a laser. They need to put randomized recoil on console not just PC. My buddy said he hates using the thing so much and that it's such a faff compared to how we used to play he cant even enjoy the games anymore.
The truth of it is a sinple anti cheat program could detect these devices by monitoring inputs and how precise they are. The question now is why they aren't going after them is it because the accesibility argument will blow up in their face along with a few false bans, maybe even streamer hate? Or is this a bit political and devs are saying the consoles should be doing this anticheat work?

So if players are using this in competitive games like COD, Fortnite, Overwatch and many other games don’t they get ban for using this? Most of those games have a pretty good ban system. Or do the games not recognize the Cronus Zen as cheating which leaves them to abuse this to there heart’s content?

No you get glasses with the mod, this allows you to see through walls and also ability to hurt people all the way across the other side of the map.

I’ve no issue with people cheating in single player games or even coop games… if these devices let you cheat and you feel it will improve the game for you, knock yourself out.
In PvP using these is wrong. It can’t be justified. I also know though that because they don’t alter the code, but instead are an input device they’re going to be incredibly hard to detect 😢so we may just have to live knowing there are cheaters out there.

I noticed everyone in halo suddenly having perfected aim with the sniper somehow and even high richochet percentage.....then I found the hiccup handicap and this contraption.
Difficult topic. It is really fun to program these scripts. You can do fun stuff like playing a fight game with combos in the same way, how you would play a different fight game without combos.
e.G: Lets say you would need to press a combo like down + left + square for a special attack. You can create a script whe you only need to press L2 + square.
But on the one hand it is cheating, but on the other hand it is also limiting you. Let's say you do it this way, you would have only 4 skills combined with L2. But the overall skills you may do by performing the combo may be 10 different skills. Also if you are already a very good player anyway, you will not become better this way, because it really doesn't make a difference, if you perform the combo manually or press a shortcut. In the end, it is more a question on how you feel it.
But yes, if you can improve the aim assist or do things like no recoil, it is cheating. Still i think, if you are playing a shooter with an aim assist and complain about, it is not competetive anymore, you are already doing it wrongly. I mean you are simply playing a noobs game and are mad about other noobs becoming better than you, because they hack on public matches.
Why don't you just play a competetive shooter which does not have aim assist and a different concept for recoil.
I think that Activision is intentionally support this bullsht and encourages people to do so. It is your own fault, you are playing a shtty game like warzone.
Why do people even consider shooters to be competetive anyway? If you play on pc, there is no competition anymore. Most streamers and wannabe pros are using hacks.
Live with it. You cannot change it. And thinking of playing on a console could prevent it, you are wrong.
You can simply plug your playstation or xbox on a video capture card and even if you couldn't install a hack on your console, what actually works in some cases, you could still use an ai enhanced aimbot (some call it pixelbot because the ai reads the screen and is trained by machine learning) and you can still hack even when playing on console.
Yes, this device may be stupid. But the issues lay far more deeper. On the on hand it is the crappy games you are playing, and on the other hand you cannot prevent players using aimbots anyway, no matter what you do.
You can even hide your cheat software on devices like your mouse, or your headset or any device, if you are fimiliar with micro controllers like a tensey, and program custom drivers and start your software from your device. Of course it sounds more easy than it is, but in the end it is the same as using a device like the zen. Under the hood it is nothing different, it is a microcontroller which is programmed by some experts. You can also get private hacks and private devices like that if you know where. There are actually forums where developers share their knowledge with each other and i can tell, there are thousands of developers. You can even find youtube tutorials how to program these kind of cheats in C or C++.
Some of these tutorials are so detailed, that you don't even need to be a programer. They teach you everything you need to learn.
That's why I think, yes it scks, but it is impossible to prevent.
It's kind of a dumb question if it already gives an unfair advantage then of course it should be Banned but I guess we are already years late for that
