  • How bad is the rust under the new Uzumaki Garage project car. I want to restore this car and drive it as much as possible, but I'm worried about the extent of its rust. Restorers in the UK would probably laugh at my concern but I need to decide if its within my ability to save it from the scrap metal truck or if its too much work to be worthwhile. #ralliart #tarmac #wrc

    Sometimes my videos are very basic but they will help some people. I also like to document what I do to the cars with video while trying to be creative. Most of the time I do everything here myself which is a big job and its hard to remember everything, I shoot most of this stuff with my old iPhone and sometimes my old GoPro. The "Pieces to Camera" I film with a Canon 5D, I don't have a real video camera at all. I would love to get a SONY FX3 some day to go on the gimbal I recently bought for fancy shots in future videos.
    Take a look at my Instagram Account @uzumaki.garage which is mostly photos of my own cars. One of my Reels there has almost reached 1.2 Million Views!
    Uzumaki Garage is in Australia. We love many things about Japan and can't wait to return. But until then we enjoy Japanese food, music, whisky, tattoos and the modern classic JDM cars. I also can't wait to return to crazy Los Angeles California USA and go to some car meets, its been too long.

    Great job mate. Keep it up. Been watching you for a while. You’ve shared lots of helpful videos for my evos. I own Evo’s 1 RS to 9 RS and 9 MR RS, a Evo 8 MR, 2 dandelion Yellow evo 5’s with low kms, and a red Tme. Thanks for your support. Love from the UK.
    Keep up the great videos.

      Thanks very much mate. You've got an incredible collection. I wish I had kept all my previous Evos. I'd especially love to have an evo 5 again, maybe one day. Stay tuned for the next series of videos featuring my TME. cheers :)

    I personally think that every Evo is worth to repair if the rust is not massive. These cars are getting rare these days, and prices rise. Ofc i speak from my experiences in Finland, i dunno about Australia. Good video again 👌

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I think you’re right. There are more cars coming to Australia from Japan but prices have risen and I think will continue to rise. I’ll start pulling the front end apart soon and search for more rust. If it’s ok I’ll probably restore it depending on my health and time I have available. Thanks for the feedback on the episode. New episode will be uploaded tomorrow. Cheers

    Another great video Andy. Tough questioner all the chassis rail repairs - I’m undertaking the same thing on an Evo atm, although its minor rust in one rail. But personally I’d look at risk vs reward and Poss park the one your doing. It’s doable of course, but that’s a lot of energy and a fair bit of rust.

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much! I guess I'll check out the rest of the car while I'm waiting on the new parts. With the car only on jack stands I'm not looking forward to spending so much time lying on the ground grinding and welding

    Thats a tough call, i would likely give it a go if you have the time. Rust repair is really time consuming. For me it would be a time thing.

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cheers Aaron. Maybe I should keep stripping it down and check the front end too and providing I don't find too much more rust.. When the new rails arrive I'll decide if I have the time and energy

    if you have space for it - I would hang onto it and tip away over time - but needs must and all that, and if your heart isn't in it - pass it on to the next owner.
