@ haven’t seen it , it comes out on November 22nd so this Friday coming up and its a trailer im assuming thats the only reason there was rap music involved i would assume
I totally agree. Gladiator 1 was a score 10 for me. Gladiator 2 is a score 6 at best. I sat there in the cinema yesterday feeling very disappointed and I wished I was home watching the old one instead.
@ it was like watching kit Harrington in that Pompeii. Ridley Scott was very desperate because I think every movie he’s made since what Robin Hood has flopped. The name alone will have made him profit but that’s about it. Too rushed, CGI was terrible for a movie in 2024 with that budget and it just didn’t make any sense. They could have at least included the score from the original but only that came at the end which I thought was the best part. He could have made a movie about a different gladiator with references to the original there is plenty to play from. I personally think Ridley is finished
Ridley got old and his movies got boring, bland and stupid. He did one good movie after "Robin Hood". "The Martian" was pretty good. I enjoy that one. Yea the CGI in Gladiator 2 was terrible. The first thing I noticed was the buildings, they looked like shit! The story was awful, stupid and boring. with the idiot Twins and Denzel Washington grabbing power in the end. Why tell a stupid story like that when Real Roman history is much better with Rome's War against Attila and his massive Hun Army. It was the Colosseum water battle that did it for me, It was so stupid. All that water would have first filled up all the lower chambers where the all Gladiator where and everybody would have drowned. And how did they catch those BIG sharks in Roman times haha and how did they transport them all the way to the Colosseum?. I almost cried of laughter 😂It was so STUPID!. The whole movie was like a bad dark comedy. There is more realism in Monty Python movies 😅
Because I read a biography of Galen who wrote down much of what we know about the practice of medicine during the Roman Empire and who spent time as a physician to a stable of gladiators, there is one glaring flaw in the movie: Gladiators, while very well muscled and v3ery active men, ate copious amounts of carbs to sheath their bodies in massive slabs of fat, so that they could receive horrible looking wounds that were not life threatening. The most accurate portrayal of gladiators were those presented in comic strip album "Asterix and the Gladiators"
Unfortunately you’ll never get as good as this as we’ve seen with so meany other films originals will always be better plus they will just dip the whole movie in cgi
You know. I would say that the "Battle of Carthage" was a ridiculous fantasy of film, but considering that the Romans actually flooded the Coliseum to stage naval battles, the chariots are actually on the realistic side.
The word Gladiator is capitalized in the title. This indicates that they are referring to the movie Gladiator, not the concept of gladiatorial combat in it's entirety. Your comment is comparable to someone watching a video about restoring 1961 Corvairs and saying, "Yeah but Corvettes are better".
All the words barring 'ever filmed' are capitalised in the title. 🤷♂️ If they hadn't added 'ever filmed' then one would assume they were indeed talking about that one movie.
Its possible because they are holding a chain going through a loop pinned to the ground and it helps amplify their strength. If the pin comes out then yes no way
It's also close up and choppy I can't even tell what the f*** is going on. There's little sense of where anyone is in relation to anyone else. Maybe the fight choreography was great, but the way they shot it and edited it... who knows.
Honest question, was it uncommon as a civilian to know the active general of a standing leader. That's the one thing that I've never understood about this movie, no one seemed to know who he was accept his loyal followers who fought with him
I think it’s pretty common today, as it was back then. Here we are in the Information Age and we have swaths of people who don’t know jack about the goings on of anything outside their own tiny bubble.
Spectacular indeed. Why on earth they just swing their weapons on and on and try to slash armour and shield? It does not cut through armour. Use tip of word and stab enemy. Ok, I understand, in real world gladiators were like pro wrestlers nowadays, or basket ball stars. Fights were mostly show and gladiators were valuable slaves, owners do not want to harm their property too much. But still, even little bit real techniques would make movie much better than this shit.
Sure that his skills are impressive but it is his moral and caracter that makes him the guy. If this was real i should feel sure about him being in heaven now. If God is love nobody likes him comes to hell. Yes he killed but that was not what he wished from life.
9:24 guy wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans on the left in the crowd 😂😂😂😂
mans just doing his job filming the movie XD
This is a seriously badass film. One of THE BEST in cinematic history.
This movie was and is so epic. I am dying for something like this to come out again soon.
The new one come out November 22nd
Spartacus. With Kirk Douglas is a classic
@@MrJdog133was that actually good? Cuz they lost me with this trailers where there’s rap playing to Roman gladiators

@ oh haha my bad. Yeah I think I’ll rent that one but… looks really weird even music aside it feels different but hopefully I’m wrong
How is it that 24 years later movie making has gone to sh*t? Gladiator 2 just taught me how bad movies have gone.

Not one bad thing in this whole movie, Absolutely flawless. I think its fantastic. :)

@@richardbell7678 almost flawless, but hollywood cant have that image out there now can they :) I get it, doesnt surprise me.
@@ghostsofVTurbexSkysthelimitvid you mean movie can be just bout movie once in a while ... now all are agenda driven ....
Not ONE bad thing? What about the dance number and the puppets?
Are you not entertained?
Hell yeah, I am!
"Today I witnessed a slave become more powerful than the emperor of Rome"
Entertainment and film making at its finest.
"Are you not into Trains?"
"We are cats in the apocalypse!"
0:13 They had to put a beard on Derek Jacobi so he wouldn't look like the Emperor Claudius.
We are just like the crowd watching.
I just realized that the actor who played Gracchus 2:31 is the same actor who played Claudius in the old I, Claudius series which I loved.
Fantastic film
Gladiator and The Last Samurai was simply an excellent piece of work. Sadly in this era of medieval films are too lame to watch.
Wasn't one movie enough.
Money 🤑💰
It's a shame that the original Roman footage was lost to time
Certain Time travellers have footage, which they promote as CGI to movie producers.
i see gladiator 2 fight scene was short and rushing, but gladiator 1 fight scene more longer and have good vibes in intro and ending of the fight
Maximum effort! ⚔🪓🐅🐅🐅🐅🛡⚔😄
In modern times Maximus would've been a Marine. Hoorah!
Not really.
Marine my ass, they would get lost on the way to war
Shame, woke liberals fighting gladiators today, along with Hollywood flunkies
Nah, he probably wouldve been a ranger tbh.
Seal Team 6
Epic!
What a handsome young man he was, I mean Joaquin Phoenix.
6:04 guy in black hoodie in chariot ?! wtf :D
I was entertained 😊

Maximus does more damage with shield than with the blade...
Max: "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?"
The only thing that detracts is the tigers making mountain lion screams. That's annoying.
They really do not make movies like they used to do. I imagine director now asking us " are we not entertained?" my answer "nope"
No cats were harmed in this scene
As the old saying goes: Every tiger has a plan until Maximus stabs them in the chest
Tigers were from India and Asia Siberia. When did Roma have any trade with these places? Should have gone with lions.
I guess the OP has never seen the “Spartacus” series.
Mask opens, mask is magically closed! :D
3 men could not hold a tiger with a chain
The violent Romans..
MoooM! 😁
I watched previews of the second movie and there’s sci-fi animals . Let’s keep it somewhat factual.
True, these are spectacular scenes... I wouldn't say they the most spectacular though. The Spartacus series had way better scenes
Same level

@JohnnyBigBaws Good point. I'll buy that for a dollar.
Didn’t take long to find the Spartacus comment ✅✅ The Spartacus series was elite!
Shown in wrong order..
First fight was Tyson vs Jake Paul….
Spaniard!!🎉🎉
6:16 Gas bottle
About 4 minutes in. I got the half second of woke this movie had. Only then, it wasn't woke, it was entertainment.
lol wut?
Sven-Ole Thorsen!
Epic scene but actually a bad coreogaphy. A real sword fight would never look like this.
Gladiator 2 very very............. (Please comment down below)
Zero chance three dudes can hold that tiger back😂😂😂😂
Its possible because they are holding a chain going through a loop pinned to the ground and it helps amplify their strength. If the pin comes out then yes no way
@ nope
Very possible the tiger is chained to the ground with not wnough room to wonder and the men still struggle with it
Leverage with the chain makes it plausible, but I have no desire to test if it is possible or not.

@@justcameron9500 That makes sense, I didn't think about it that way
There was no TV. Most of the Roman Empire wouldn't recognize the Emperor himself without his coterie and royal trappings.
Gladiator 2 is just a mess up movie ..
First you watch Russel Crowe in this, as Maximus.
^.^
Then you watch Russel Crowe in Thor, as Zeus.
-.-
Yeah right? He looked terrible as Zeus!
What is with the stupid captions?
2:20 How is a wound in your foot make your mouth bleed? 🫠
I think Maximus hit him on his face shield before that.
He bit his own tounge!
OGladiator 2 sucks

3:45 DOOM
MÁRKUS ANTONIUS VOLT A HALÁLA !
Trump = Maximus
Hmmm no. Lol just no.
My God of course not!
Trump= Commodus, a usurper , unfit for office and a pervert who thought he was entitled to fame and glory because he gamed the system.
Sure that his skills are impressive but it is his moral and caracter that makes him the guy. If this was real i should feel sure about him being in heaven now. If God is love nobody likes him comes to hell. Yes he killed but that was not what he wished from life.
Max went to the Elysian Fields
and the bullshit new one is unwatchable.
