4:20 I have seen this many times and really enjoy it, but I just realized Maximus was riding with stirrups (modern ones at that). Stirrups weren't invented for another century after the time of Commodus. They were invented in China about 300 AD and didn't appear in the west for another 200 years after that. Gorgeous horse, though.
Where was the part when Maximus said who served in the military? And the guy on his right said I served with you. That was most important and best part of the scene 🎬 was cut out……😂
I've never understood why Maximus is all set to kill Commudus, with the broken arrow he picked up off of the ground, and then he backs off when Lucius appears. Why? Was Lucius in his way? Was Maximus worried Lucius could get severely hurt if a battle broke out?
Maximus in this movie is the absolute perfect personification of what a great leader is and should be!
Something that wasn't seen in Acacius.
Shit changed to minute they believed they could stay alive under his leadership.. much like true leaders .
Indeet
1:52 I’ve always thought he said “DIAMOND!” (diamond formation). Not. “DOWN LOW“.
Even though the subtitles say that, I still think it’s actually “divert”, which means to change the chariot’s route
He is saying diamond. You are right, subtitles are wrong. Its an actual command to control the shield wall.

Too hard to teach actors to ride without them
wait until you hear hear the main character didn't exist
2:34 The infamous gas cylinder.
I didn’t notice that till you said something about it
seen this scene a thousand times and never noticed it
Those charriots were the underdog in this scenario. Tiny little arena vs 40 dudes?
Never thought of that, you’re right. lol

This movie was too good to be shown in TH-cam! 😂 Thought TH-cam does not allow blood and violence. What happened?!😅
2:21 Rubber soled boots of a knelt technician on the charriot.
I've seen Gladiator II. It's a good movie, but not the masterpiece that this was and still is.
It sucks ass
Single column! single column!
His speech still sends shivers down my spine and I must have watched it dozens of times
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
3.33 fantastic pass

Unlike commudus he only wanted defeat with honor and for his name to have respect even in death
Lucius could have been his son.
@@TheSithLord This is confirmed in Gladiator II.
He would have used Lucius as a shield .....a coward
I think the battle was rigged against the folks in the chariots... 😛
Addendum: The horses would tire eventually, and there is only so much arrows to be shot into shields, they stood no chance in hand-to-hand fighting...
This is the reason Rome fell. Evil society.
Today's society is a thread away from going back to this. Humans are just gruesome creatures.
Haha cute comment
