I am a logistician/supply chain manager and I purchased one of Munro's sample reports just to learn the engineer's point of view of what matters in a supply chain and the impact on a product. It was extremely eye-opening to me. Those reports have value well-beyond an individual model, product, etc. They are a window into design, manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain management processes that make an organization or product successful.

@@Alexzw92 I’d like them for a number of things. Tesla definitely overdid it with eliminating buttons. I do *not* want to swipe through menus just to open the frickin glove box! And the passenger can make their own heat adjustments without taking over the driver’s screen.
I would pay $5-$10 just to hear a non-edited version of Sandy and how he really feels. Lol. I heard him pause to think of nicer words sometimes. Cory's reactions were priceless, by the way.

As a retired engineer, Munro are the people I listen to very carefully indeed. In a world where everyone has an opinion, regardless of expertise, they are a beacon of rational expert information based on tremendous experience and actual knowledge. I doubt Sandy has bothered to understand what woke actually means, if it means anything concrete. The hardest part about being older like Sandy and I are is the fact that we have so much experience in our fields it gets really difficult to listen to people trying to play in your field when we know they are clueless and don’t know what they don’t know. Sandy’s frustration is born out of his passion combined with decades of experience. I love watching his videos because of his passion, and honesty.

I majored in Mechanical Engineering, but the Air Force recruited me to fly planes which is how I earn my living. To say I enjoy detail and precision would be an understatement, and I appreciate what you and your organization does in ways I find hard to express. Funny thing is my wife wanted the ID4 but when the price cuts happened, we immediately went to the Tesla store and placed our order for the Model Y Long Range.
Which was (is) EXACTLY the intention.

That is what normally happens when a manufacturer slashes their prices, that is why they do it, but they don't slash them for no reason.

Whatever you do, do not get the ID4. That would have been a terrible choice. My neighbor got one and he is not happy. The volume of problems he is having is actually comical and the dealerships don’t know Jack making it even more frustrating. VW has virtual ID4 experts that’s roam the country from dealership to dealership. It’s a joke. Weeks and sometimes months and the car is unusable.
I love it when people both know what they are doing and speak from their heart.
But it all falls apart when they act arrogant and primitive, Very American

I very much disagree with Sandy's characterization of anyone that doesn't know engineering and cost analysis as being "Woke". That is total BS and Sandy should be embarrassed to have said that. Sandy, who has always been my hero, is starting to become unwatchable when he now politicizes engineering and competence issues. He should know better than that and Cory should take him aside and explain it to him. I may be misinterpreting it, but it seemed like Cory almost did a faceplant when Sandy said that.
Hello from Windsor Assembley Plant across the river from you!. We have done 40 sec per car for decades. We were the highest producing plant for decades. Then Management decided to not make the Portal(fully electric minivan).

He knew where per vehicle margins were , and how much they could cut and still make bank.

He knew better because he knows exactly what it costs to make the cars and so Tesla is still making 30% profit on them even with the reduced prices.

Elon hinted at a price chop 6 weeks ago, but through scaling & engineering, Tesla can still make a product that leveraged the best charging network.
The good and bad aspects of Social Media on full display here. Munro Associates vehicle tear downs were instrumental in my Tesla buy decisions (stock, vehicles, solar). Keep up the GREAT work fellas.

Sandy on a rant is priceless
Every 40 seconds a Tesla roles off the line with panel gaps that are inconsistent, ill fitting interior panels, mystery squeaks that are difficult if not impossible to resolve, soft paint that needs to be aftermarket wrapped to protect it, and except for the model S, a suspension that rattles your teeth every time you hit a road imperfection. And that requires a buyer to purchase a cable so that you can charge the car when every other manufacturer provides it at no charge. And who in his/her right mind spends $15K on self driving technology that is, at least so far, essentially a myth. When Elon drops the price another 12% maybe I'll consider one. Everything Sandy and his folks say is spot on.
Love your explosions Sandy! It means the subject is important and you are giving us the totally unfiltered honest truth. Good job! And credit to you for knowing when to hand over to Cory who picks up the thread superbly as always while your circuits cool down. You guys make a great team :)

There is such a mountain of anti tesla FUD bs, sandy has to come with straight facts for at least half the time to demonstrate truly how good of a company tesla is.
Cory and Sandy are such a great team. They deliver their work based on proper facts, integrity and the delivery on this video is class. You can see the passion that Sandy has for the industry which is countered by Corey’s dry humour. This must be a great place to work (you’d better be good though) with these at the helm. I am a huge fan of the value your videos bring to the world! I enjoy working on my mustang and for that, TH-cam is my best friend. To sum up the Q4 financials: The ASP in Q4 was 50,622 with the 4,731B profit it's about 11,676/vehicle (23,06% margin). The final operating income of 3,901B is equivalent to 19,01% of their automotive sales, so Tesla would have been able to tolerate 19% lower prices in this Q4 before going into red figures (tax implications excluded)
I learn more from watching Sandy & Cory than all of the other “smart” car guys added together. Keep producing excellent content and I’ll keep watching.

i seem to recall long ago, that some news network had researched how much it would cost to buy the parts for a $5000-7500 car (new). turns to just buy the parts would be over $20000. which does make sense when you manufacture vehicle. cause there are production parts (built for the production line to use in production for a vehicle that was sold to a dealer). and then there are parts for spares (used to repair vehicles). these parts costs a lot more sense the OEM has no ideas how long they would be waiting till they would needed, as opposed for production parts, which will go into a vehicle on the line to be shipped. while you can fine the spares parts prices, you cant find the production parts price. and the OEMS will likely never tell you if ask

This is one of the reasons that your channel is so valuable: you have the knowledge and contacts to be able to investigate the behind-the-scenes stuff and to evaluate things based on that. I certainly don't. I might not agree with Sandy about some aesthetics or design choices that are subjective, but he and his team are such fabulous authorities and it's a luxury to have their expertise available to the general public. Years ago, I had a 'car guy' friend that I'd drag out with me to look at cars simply because I don't know enough. Watching Sandy is much easier, and I don't have to buy him beer to get him to tell me his opinion! :D
