Oh, you just made my day! Thank you! I'm so glad you like it. Let me know if you try other recipes on the channel. The caramels are just as good. Thanks again. Merry Christmas and God bless you.
I would’ve liked to see them up close and see you touch it and take a bite to see the chew. I’ve never seen a chewy praline. Thank you for the recipe and the tip on the pan. They both look amazing.
I made a half batch and they turned out good. They are definitely chewy, like caramel--and loaded with pecans. The recipe is very easy to follow and the results are more than satisfactory. I topped some of them with melted chocolate and called them turtle clusters. They will be added to my Christmas candy-making list again next year. Thanks!
Looks like a great recipe, and I appreciate that you use a thermometer. Quick tip: if you warm your cream before adding, it will reach temperature faster.
Thank you Gail !! These pralines came out amazing .. thank you for walking me through. I am a visual person so thank you for holding my hand as I watched and copied what you did. I am making these for Mother’s Day. I took some to work and everyone loved them. Amazing thank you. I will be following your easy manner and easy manner. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am so glad you tried them, and everyone loved them! For many, many years, I had tried making pecan pralines and finally had success with these. I tweaked the recipe I had found, and it turned out wonderful for me. I'm SO glad you like them. Please let me know which other recipes you try and like. Thanks, Pauline, for letting me know. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you! My thinking is that if I can give others a detailed way to make these (and my other foods), then I hope they have the same results (or better) as I have. I invite you to try out the other foods in my channel. I have tried to put out only the BEST recipes! Let me know if you make these and how they turn out for you. Thanks for your comment!
The key to using waxed paper is putting newspaper under it. The wax doesn’t stick to the newspaper. I do this every year. You can also use aluminum foil, and use it over if you’re making more than one batch
I just love you and your recipe. You're so down home and have such a great comfortable for others personality. I know your pralines are so good. I'll try making them. I know I can do it. I've made them before but not quite as good as yours I see. That's why I will change over to your recipe for the Pecan pralines. I know they are so so good. I can tell by the ingredients and care that you put into them. Thanks so much. God bless you and your precious family.

Hi there! You are just adorable & I love your easy going , relaxed manner of instruction. My friends have been bringing me pralines from New Orleans for years, but since they’ve stopped traveling, I guess I’m going to have to start making them myself. Thanks for helping to inspire me to get started! 🐾💕🙏
Oh, you are so sweet! Thank you! Your friends treated you to the pralines, and now you can surprise them with these. How fun! Please let me know how y'all like them. Merry Christmas and God bless you.
Merry Christmas! You just kicked me um...to the delish zone! Always ready to taste new dishes! Yummy, yum! Doing the air fryer way. Waving to you from south Georgia-land of best Peaches, boiled Peanuts, & Vidalia onions!
Merry Christmas to you, too! What a fun comment you wrote! We have traveled through Georgia and love It! I hope you enjoy the recipe. You might try the Blueberry Cobbler recipe except use peaches. I had lived in Montgomery, Alabama, and had a peach tree in the back yard. I made peach cobbler with this recipe. I absolutely loved it! Thanks for your comment! First time seeing your channel. I really like your detailed and no rush instruction style. I love a caramel-y anything, lol, so I will have to try this. The first time I tried pralines was at Riverstreet sweets in Savannah Georgia. They were amazing. Can’t wait to try your recipe and hoping I will get close the those or maybe even better.
Oh, I'm so glad you found the channel. Thanks for watching. I agree - pralines are AMAZING! Years ago, I would buy pralines every chance I got and was determined to learn how to make them. I made some that were not good at all, and I had to throw them away. After experimenting so many times, I finally found a recipe that was ok but not great. I tweaked it a little and came up with these, which are absolutely delicious and just what I wanted. I hope they turn out for you. Let me know what you think after you make them. Have fun and enjoy! Thanks again for watching. God bless you!
If you melt the butter in the heavy ceam in the microwave or a small saucepan, you won't lose as much heat when adding the butter & cream to your pot so it doesnt take as long to bring back to temp. This recipe is da bomb! My wife and I made up a half-batch and we're so sorry that we didn't go all the way! I did toast the pecans a little, but I won't do that next time... it's unnecessary and it adds just the slightest bitterness to an otherwise perfect prAline (long A). Sorry, in Texas we say it that way. Or at least I do. Google says it's prah-leen, like Gail says, but no matter which way you say it, these are dang good!
I am so glad you enjoyed them. I just made them a few days ago for my mom's 90th birthday party, and they were such a huge hit. They make a wonderful Valentine's candy! Thanks for your comment. It made my day! Have a great February!
I made these last night. I halved the recipe except I used 2 teaspoons of vanilla because it seemed like you had used more than 3 😂. It turned out Wonderful!! Thanks so much!
The corn syrup is a major ingredient in these pecan pralines, and it does add to the the texture of the pralines. If you leave out the corn syrup, it would alter the pralines in the flavor and the texture. I used parchment paper. I found that it worked just fine. I cut the paper to the size I wanted, placed the pralines close to the edge in the middle, and wrapped. Then I twisted the ends in the same direction. The parchment paper held its shape and did not come lose. I’m sure there are other papers you can use. I just happened to have parchment paper on hand, and it did the trick for me.

Love your video! I was looking for a soft chewy praline. I’ve made twice. I have a question. Are they supposed to be tacky after setting? Is there anything I can do to make them not so sticky to the touch. They are yummy and are beautiful. Thank you so much!
Thank you! No, they are not supposed to be tacky. One reason why they might be tacky is that maybe they need to cook just a little longer on the stove, and that might be your thermometer. At one point, my thermometer started registering too low, and the pralines were just a little too soft. So, I bought a digital thermometer. Also, make sure to put them on lightly buttered parchment paper. I hope this helps. Let me know how they turn out.
Yes. I agree. I lightly butter the parchment paper. But, after they cool and you transfer them to someplace else, you don't have to do the butter. Merry Christmas!
These look delicious to this south Louisiana gal! I live in north Georgia now and would love to make these... we really don't need 100 pralines though. Would it be OK to make up a half recipe at a time? If not, are they good to freeze?
I have never tried to make half the recipe or freeze the pralines, but I think you should be able to do either or both. If you half the recipe, you might use a smaller pan, maybe a 2 quart size or a tad bit larger. Don't use any thing size smaller than that. I think the directions would be the same. For freezing, I found out that you can freeze them. Make sure to keep them in an airtight freezer bag. They should be good for a couple of months. Now you are a Georgia gal. That is still cool! I make caramels also using a different recipe. The recipe is on the channel. The caramels are less stressful because when you bring them to a boil, you stop stirring!
