What You Need to Make Pecan Candy
    1 lb. PECANS
    1 cup SUGAR
    1 tsp CINNAMON
    ½ tsp SALT
    1 EGG WHITE
    1 Tbsp WATER
    How to make Pecan Candies
Buy a pound of pecan halves. When buying, be sure to choose pecans that are in good shape
...a bag of broken and busted up pecans doesn't look as pretty in a dish.
In a bowl, combine the cinnamon, sugar, and salt, and then mix well.
Set that bowl aside, and in another bowl, combine 1 egg white and 1 Tbsp. of water.
Whisk the egg white and water into a frothy foam.
Add the pecan halves into the egg white mix.
By hand, mix the pecans until coated thoroughly.
Once the pecans are coated completely, transfer then into the dry mix bowl. Still using your hand,
mix the pecans in the cinnamon sugar until they are coated well.
On an ungreased baking sheet, spread the coated pecans into a single layer.
Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove the baking sheet every 10 minutes to give the pecans a stir and spread them out again; this will let the pecans
bake evenly and keep from sticking together.
After a total of 30 minutes baking time, remove the pecans for a final stir, then set aside to cool.
That's it. As soon as they're cool enough to eat, then eat away.
Be sure to allow the pecans to cool completely before sealing in a container.
These sugar pecan candies make a great holiday treat or anytime treat. My mom makes them all the time for family gatherings and they're
    a sure fire hit.
Give this sugared pecan candy recipe a try and let me know what you think, and bon appétit!
If you liked the pecans, then click a button or two below and share the recipe, I appreciate it!

Hey brother, here's a hint for ya. Don't Crack your egg on and edge of anything, always crack it on a flat surface. When you Crack it on an edge, the edge will push egg shell into the whites or the yolk, or it'll leave those sharp points like you had and you'll end up busting your yolk or pick out little pieces of egg shell out of your bowl. Just trying to help ya out. Thanks for the vid.

My goodness those look so good. What a great appetiser or snack. Delicious thank you for sharing your mums recipe. Your egg shell had a claw on it cause you cracked it on the side of the bowl 😬 always crack eggs on a hard surface never against a bowl.

Super easy to make!! Made these to add into a Sweet Potato bread pudding with Vanilla Bourbon Caramel Sauce and they added a really nice crunch. As for just snacking, they are sweet but seemed a little light on the flavor. I think next time I will add additional cinnamon.

Thank you, Chef Buck, for posting this recipe! It is a fabulous substitute for the pralines I truly wanted to make, but didn't have the time. I made mine today (Dec 2019), and decided to One and a Half the recipe. *Dangerous* I know, when making a recipe for the first time; but it seemed so fool proof!
The short story, plus a tip is: they turned out very edible and tasty, but **remember to make sure your pecans and pans are cool before starting.**
The detail is: I love toasted pecans, so I decided I wanted to toast mine before I made this recipe. True to my life, I was in a hurry . . . almost always doing things last minute. (Hey, It works for me :-)). So, I toasted the pound and a half of pecan halves while I was preparing all of the other ingredients. . . . How does one 1/2 an egg white? I used two egg whites. Halved all the others. . . . Pecans toasted, and all other ingredients ready, I was set to combine. I poured the whisked egg whites over the pecans in the mixing bowl. Immediately I realized my mistake. Very warm (almost hot) pecans, and egg whites . . . the whites are going to start cooking. YIKES. I immediately added the combined sugar/salt/cinnamon mixture, which helped to cool the egg-cooking reaction.
    Lesson learned.
Ultimately, as mentioned above, they turned out great. I can see there are a few very small white blobs on the pecans, but they are mostly coated with the cinnamon/sugar mixture, and the texture is not affected in the least. Unless you knew, you would not know.
And here's a bonus I will definitely repeat: There seems to be less sugar shrapnel in the bottom of the pan, more coated to the pecans. So, it seems using two egg whites with one-and-a-half times the original recipe ingredients results in more yummy deliciousness coating being coated on to the pecans. Yeeeeaye!
I *will*, however, be sure my pecans are cool next time. :-)
    Thank you, Chef Buck!!!

Great recipe thx for reminding me Chef Buck!

I’m about to make these for the 2nd time in my life, and after watching/comparing probably a dozen videos last time, I immediately came straight here. Didn’t even think about it - like it was a primal instinct (undergoing Pon Farr...Pecan Farr). So, I just wanted to let you know that/say thanks! (Last time, I made them at my parent’s house a few days before they got back from vacation - mainly because I knew my mom would be absolutely shocked that I made them...but I ate them all before they got back.)

glad you liked them--thanks for watching. I have tried this recipe with cashews, but didn't think it was nearly as good, and cashews are still pretty pricey...I should try it with peanuts, but usually when I'm making this recipe it's around the holidays or I'm making it for guests or as a dish to take somewhere, so I kinda want it to be extra nice, which is what pecans are

super simple and great for the holidays....I used to work at a Bed and Breakfast, and I'd make up a batch of these to use as a topping for french toast, give it a little crunch and pizzaz

For any Low Carbers, these are awesome with Swerve, Stevia or even Splenda if you use it.

These look SO amazingly delicious ! Pecans are one of my faves anyway ..Definitely want to try this ! Thanks ! ( PS .. a little kitchen tip: for best results when cracking eggs... never use the rim of a bowl or pan .... use a flat surface ( like your counter top ) .. Success ratio will go WAY up .. : ] )

+Ciara Pershall I think they'd be excellent in cookies. CG like to use them as an ice cream topping.

Nice video! I'm definitely trying this recipe. Although, I wonder what they would taste like if you added butter to the egg whites?

That egg made me laugh! You could see it going wrong from the moment you cracked it! "I'm upset with this egg".
