I love SCP 049. I do wish he was more "inevitably" powerful, though. I don't want him to be afraid of SCP 173 because it'll kill him but because it'll take days to regenerate from a broken neck and that'd be a dreadful inconvenience for such a devoted man of science. And I'd like to think that his doctor's bag, just like his mask and clothes, is actually a product/extension of his body. I mean, why else would the SCP Foundation let him keep such a dangerously versatile item? It makes more sense that they can't deny him the bag because he'll just pull another one out from under his cloak. Envision this: SCP 049 is a Euclid class anomaly in the hands of the Foundation only because they're cordial with him and meet him halfway on demands for test subjects -- when disrespected and abused, he becomes Keter and will inevitably get out and get even.
@@TarnishedProductions I totally agree, actually. I wish they would take some of that durability from the run-of-the-mill horror movie SCPs and give it to ones like SCP 049 that have unique character and personality. Euclid doesn't equal danger level it's moreso how hard they are to contain. As 173 can be quantum locked and 049 is a man of reason, they're easy to contain unlike 682 or 076 who don't understand reason and can't be immobilized without great effort and are therefore keter

I miss the normal peanut
They literally animated the doctor blinking while he backed away at 14:30
ikr!?
I love how this story forgets that in the original he waves of bullets like nothing but a bonk on the head and he is out
The “I’m sure you can have fun with the bird brain too” had me dying 🤣
I love SCP 049. I do wish he was more "inevitably" powerful, though. I don't want him to be afraid of SCP 173 because it'll kill him but because it'll take days to regenerate from a broken neck and that'd be a dreadful inconvenience for such a devoted man of science. And I'd like to think that his doctor's bag, just like his mask and clothes, is actually a product/extension of his body. I mean, why else would the SCP Foundation let him keep such a dangerously versatile item? It makes more sense that they can't deny him the bag because he'll just pull another one out from under his cloak. Envision this: SCP 049 is a Euclid class anomaly in the hands of the Foundation only because they're cordial with him and meet him halfway on demands for test subjects -- when disrespected and abused, he becomes Keter and will inevitably get out and get even.
there are way too many immortal scps already
Because his bag isn't dangerous by itself and can not be used as weapon. Foundation confiscated his stick, however, which is kept in regular storage.
@@TarnishedProductions I totally agree, actually. I wish they would take some of that durability from the run-of-the-mill horror movie SCPs and give it to ones like SCP 049 that have unique character and personality. The best sentient SCPs are the ones whose motivations are nuanced enough that they could believably work with or against the Foundation in different situations.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, I keep forgetting that 049 is a badass.
Every time theres a mass release/escape of contained scp instances all I picture is the scene from cabin in the woods when the elevators open and then a half second later the hallway that was filled with guards is immediately mauled by every monster/ghost/whatever that was kept there....
Cabin in the woods is still one of my favorite horror (or black comedies depending on your point of view) movies for how meta it was
You described regular containment breach in SCP Foundation. I wonder where they find new guards every time.
The "then die for it, good sir" was perfect
technoblade moment
Beautiful as always and great job to hunter as well! Also nice touch of detail that you didn't use peanut and used a different model! 049 amazing as always.
Here's what the Foundation should do: gather a bunch of plastic, a couple small wheels, and a human eye, and stick them all into the Clockworks on Fine or Very Fine. With any luck they'll be able to create new Eye Pods. Perhaps one that can sit and stare at 173 without needing or wanting to leave.
Until he gets upset and stops playing the game, SCP is a shitty set of stories with no internal rules or logic no one gives a fuck all people give a shit about is their own head cannon which they make up on a whim so really any ideas that you come up with might as well be true
I never even thought of this one. Great work!
What happend to 173 why does it have tenticles
@@matthew-jamessimpson2710 The original image for 173 was an original artwork. The SCP wiki got into trouble for using it later on, so now it's easier to reimagine 173 like that
I mean yeah, if I was the plague doctor I'd happily yield to SCP too after a day like that!

I love these 049 scp’s stories i hope you make even more of them!
Omg, SCP-049 was SO LUCKY! SCP-173 is a creature that cannot be reasoned with nor can it be trifled with. And the scariest thing is that they are both Euclid class.
The plague doctor maybe a Man of science…but the Sculpture is a DEADLY work of Art.
Euclid doesn't equal danger level it's moreso how hard they are to contain. As 173 can be quantum locked and 049 is a man of reason, they're easy to contain unlike 682 or 076 who don't understand reason and can't be immobilized without great effort and are therefore keter
I think the many versions of 173 is brilliant.
What is the pestilence that the plague doctors talking about is actually “it” from the SCP 5000 story
If*
@@the_son_of_tartarus I mean, he doesnt cause pain to his victims, so that is actually a good theory. Also I think it would be cool for both 682 and 049 to has some sort of the same goal, just different ways of handling it. but in another universe they found out the the pestilance is really just human conciences. But they could stil fit into "it"
Elaborate, you mean human free will/concience/the soul?
There’s evidence that goes against this
@@DoomSlayer-gj8qb Yes but is is a very interesting idea on this. I myself dont believe it although there is evidence on both sides.

The animated doctor blinked twice as he was backing down the hall 14:24 ... I find this amusing
This makes no sense, 049 can tank bullets without feeling them but can get dazed by a hit to the head from a rifle or stopped by cattle prod
Well being berated by bullets on your skin who is as hard as metal at some spots that sometimes don't even hit you versus getting hit In the soft spot of the back of your head as hard as possible by highly trained soilders
The mannequin is able to resist bullets, but a taser is able to keep it down.
SCP stories usually aren't written by the author of the original article, so they probably just bent the rules a bit for the sake of the story
Not sure if he is
Bullets work by penetrating target. SCP049 has a “coat” so thick he can tank bullets.
However electricity works on interfering the communications between neurones. Hence the muscle spasm.
The Good Doctor is not electrically insulated (although I too thought that he was)

17:24 Question, can 173 even "bend" down or is it in a constant fixed position? because that might be a loophole.
Yes and no. SCP-173 can kill people that aren't standing upright, but it has never been seen changing its position.
Depends on the interpretation and perspective
The feeling of having scps like 173 around makes me feel sooooo uneasy, even 1 nanosecond of miscalculated blinking from the guards at that site and the whole world as we know it could end
One time, SCP-173 and SCP-049 went to a bar and SCP-049 said : "Damn, what i did to deserve it?"
Huh. I like this one. I would never have considered that the Plague Doctor was even vulnerable to such a statue, but I admire his intelligence. Superior here to those idiots, certainly.
Great content love it keep it up!!
076 would never be near anyone else, though
I have that nagging feeling that the sculpture was trying to get the doctor to help escape. Ex-peanut seems to have intelligence to some capacity.
everybody gangsta till scp-173's eyes glow more and moved while your eyes are not closed, but raged while the lights is off
Man I just love how many of 49s stories turn into doctor who episodes but with scps instead of aliens and minus the time travel
This was really good story. Hail SCP foundation for their great work 😁. Thank god, 049 was saved. I always like stories featuring Mr. Doc

Remember in in SCP universe there is no such thing and Winking instead of blinking. Everyone can only blink XD
SCP-049: So the plan is simple…
Countering SCP-173 is actually very easy you just have to blink your eyes one at a time
In a story a janitor class person did that, survived, got turned into and MTF for his bravery, then turned into a researcher, than a site director, and eventually one of the 05s mysteriously died, and he became an 05.

I like the new look for 173. Looks great.
Why has it changed I’m so confused.
@@alexthedjgod copy right, the original photo wasnt the foundations so if they want to make profit they need to "remedy" it, kinda like how disney used "ugly sonic" without SEGAS permission, cause it was a bit different classifing as a remedy
@@alexthedjgod It's out of respect for the original artist of the original piece. He hadn't intended on the piece being "scary," as it was meant to represent the scarring/deformation of radiation following the atomic bombs in Japan. But waaaaaay back when the creepypasta that became 173 was written, it was just some image the article author found and used, and became an unofficial mascot for the SCP Foundation. The artist hasn't sent any kind of cease and desist letters or anything, but the people running the SCP wiki have decided to go ahead and change up the look of 173 out of respect.
The original look was based off a real statue, the artist that made it, didn’t like that his art was being use for such a thing but since SCP fandom at the time is a unofficial thing, he allowed it but if it became more of a official deal then he asked that it be changed. Along them lines I believe.
@@DeathKhan the creator actually did request that he gets the profit made from these videos, thats why games like secret lab changed it, is cause they wanted more profit

Wow, this may not have had amazing animation, but it's still amazing, humanizing the doctor and making him a man who will live for a long time and just tries to do his research to help humanity
Isn't SCP-049 largely immune to death and injury? Like I'm sure 173 could hurt him but would it actually kill him?
He is resistant to injury, but not immune. 173 is completely capable of snapping his neck and killing him. Even 682 took a lot of damage from 173.
@@ceu160193682 is terrified of 173. 173 actually killed most of 682's race.
