My brother bought a new Road King while he still owned his 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C90T, all glossy black and highly polished chrome. He called me and asked if I wanted the C90T and I couldn't say YES! fast enough. We worked out some financial arrangements and he delivered the bike to Temecula, CA, while I visited my daughter in San Diego. The pictures of the bike did not do it justice as it was absolutely gorgeous. I rode it back to Salinas in northern California and the ride was smooth, comfortable and phenomenal. After two years I traded it for a 2008 HD Fatboy which I also loved but almost twice the cost of maintenance and insurance. I sold the Harley before I moved to the East Coast. Now after promising my wife, no more bikes, I want to ride again and after 50+ years of riding experience it's in my blood. I'm looking at buying a gently used, well maintained Suzuki C90T...and if the pandemic hadn't hit us like it did I would have been up to SRK Cycles to pick up a nice one they displayed online. Being retired it would be a perfect addition to my driveway.
Just bought a 2007 C90T basically bone stock with 9500 miles on it as my first bike and I really like it. It's been about 2 months since I started riding it and I can see myself holding onto it for at least a few years. Can't wait to do some tasteful modding!
I buy, sell and trade bikes.. Have had numerous HD's... I picked up one of these about 2 weeks ago... The C90T is a beast of a bike... I believe its direct counterpart is the 88 twin cam...Every 88 I've had (factory or stage 1) couldn't hold a stick to this bike... I was impressed by the low end torque and agility on the road... This thing moves like a top in traffic. I think where Suzuki wins is the driveshaft being the driving force behind the final drive... It's not a loud bike but that's okay because the compression ratio is ideal when running through the gears... The heads are getting a lot of air and sufficiently cooling things off in the rockers... The fact that the gas tank is under the seat is amazing.. I wonder why Harley never thought to do that....That single engineering component makes it a far superior machine...
Harley Davidson has nothing that could compete this type of cruiser. This bike could not deal with a Harley on their best day and Suzuki could be on their worst day and Suzuki would still come out on top!!! No contest there!!!
A lot of fuel related problems from the gas tank. The paint or sealant breaks apart and clogs the intake. The Honda VTX 1300 or 1800 dominates this bike.
Speaking of looks alone: This just happened a few hours ago. I was at Lowes on my new C-50T. A guy approached me in the parking lot, and asked for my viewpoints regarding why I chose "my Harley" over an Indian. I actually had to point to put to him: "You are asking the wrong guy this question. [pointing at my bike], Brother that's a 10 year old Suzuki that I just bought for three grand." I am not saying that my C-50 is comparable to a Harley. I am not even saying it is comparable to the C-90 in this video. All I AM saying is that when it comes to looks, Suzuki has nailed it.

Bought a 2007 C90T for my son recently. Paid $1900. It needed some TLC and still needs some more. However, we towed it to Flagstaff from Denver last week and rode 600 miles over 3 days. It was our first motorcycle trip. The Boulevard was a joy to ride (we switched bikes on and off). Very comfortable and not one hiccup. Did fine everywhere we went. Interstates at 75mph, mountains full of switch backs, canyons and city streets. No, it's not a Harley, but did just fine for us.

I heard lot of people complaining for rectifier stator and charging issues with c90, that’s I don’t dare to buy it, I have c50, just same shape ,same size, 570 lbs dry weight, 800 cc it beats passes in seconds any other bike on road whether sports whether Harley what ever, I changed its engine oil and gear oil multiple times I use only full synthetic oil, now it’s pickup is more than a sports bike, in seconds it touches almost 100 mph, maintainance free, best fuel consumption, best road grip and road presence and by no means due to its large bulky size it doesn’t look like 800 cc it looks far bigger than that, what else do I need, it’s almost a year I have it’s 2007, great reliable trouble free machine
If you are comfortable with it then by all means go for it! I personally don't recommend larger motorcycles for a first bike because of the power and the weight. Also with this bike there's no traction control or abs.
A nice alternative. Let's face it, the 900 lb gorilla in the room is not just that HD bikes are quite expensive, but for what you pay vs. what you get, you should expect more from a so called "premium brand".
There's a 2005 C90 on sale with a Vulcun Trike Kit available in my area. Would the trike kit make it easier to ride for someone that is new with motorcycles? I'm leery about getting a 2-wheel because of my diabetic neuropathy in my feet.
Yes, I'd say the trike kit is easier to ride than the standard bike. For someone in your situation with the neuropathy, I wouldn't be able to give an answer, as that is outside my expertise. The best I could say is to talk to your doctor, so you can get a professional opinion.
$40,000 for a Harley.......don't exaggerate none do you I have a C90T, I got it cheap enough, and it has a lot of cheap in it.....its a good bike, it isn't a Harley I didn't get it to be Harley, I got it to be a Suzuki, I have a Harley.
When my father and I went to Las Vegas last summer, we stopped by a Harley Davidson dealer. They had a bike in there marked up at $40,000. As I stated towards the end of the video, the point wasn't to say whether the c90t was better than a Harley or not, but rather to show that there are other options available for a lot cheaper that will give a similar experience. I like Harleys, but they are quite expensive.
www.autoblog.com/amp/2020/02/11/2020-harley-davidson-cvo-road-glide-motorcycle/ I believe it was this model. Granted the CVO versions fetch higher prices, as this one is marked $40,999 for the CVO version of the road glide, which normally starts around $21,699.
Ah, I see what you're saying. Perhaps I should have worded it differently in the video, as the goal was not to make it seem all Harleys are priced at $40k. The goal was to point out that you can get a similar riding experience without having to spend too much money. I will be sure to clarify in later videos.
@@autos_in_review The only thing the same about riding a Harley or a Yamazuki is the bugs in your teeth You've not been on a Harley, the riding experience is not the same.........its best to just not try makiing a comparison I've got 2 new suzuki's C90T and M90, the are nothing like my wide glide......Getting these bikes I got rid of 3 Kawasaki's and a Sportster anad before that I had a Yamaha, 2 different Kaw's and a different Sportster........The 900 Kaw's are not like an 883, they are similar in price, speed, handling is totally different, mpg 883 whoops the 900, 900 has a slightly higher top end, but while you're on the 883 you knw your on a Harley......it is that different Like they say "sit your ass on some class". And the longer you ride both the more you see why you pay a little more for a Harley.......paint quality, chrome quality, just everything about it It is true Harley's sound slow
Picked up a mint 2018 C90 with just under 2000 miles on it, and outside of it looking like a really cool classic crusier....I absolutely hate it. I've been riding all of my life and this bike has one of the worst rides I've ever experienced. It's sooooo underpowered that I have trouble keeping up with cars on the highway it's clunky, slow, it's temperamental. It's a cool looking bike but it's no fun to ride and if it's no fun....what's the point?
For a cruiser the c50t in my opinion is a good starting point. Before you buy it, sit on it to make sure that the ergonomics work well for you. If you can, take it on a test ride and see how it feels
Me personally, I'd say no. While the bike handles well for its size, it's still quite large with a curb weight of around 800lbs with fluids give or take. The bike in the video, which is an 05 model year, also has no ABS or TCS
It is compared to a Harley Davidson because it is Suzuki's answer to Harley Davidson's touring class of motorcycles. The Japanese touring/ cruiser/ bagger market wouldn't really exist without Harley Davidson. Whether I fork up the change to get a Harley Davidson or not becomes irrelevant because the Boulevard C90t will still be a touring class motorcycle. Regardless of the price, it will still provide a similar riding experience. Therefore, it is still considered an option. It exists to be a cheaper alternative. As for which Harley is being discussed, any touring class Harley is fair game. For example, a Sportster is not a touring bike. It's aimed at a different market. Another example aimed at a different market would be a GSX-R 750. On Suzuki's website, the only touring bikes listed are the Boulevard C90t and the smaller Boulevard C50t. On Harley's website they have 14 different bikes listed in the touring category. All of these bikes are fair game for discussion because they have the same design philosophy: To build a motorcycle that specializes in long distance travel. As for the resale value of the Boulevard you are absolutely correct. They don't hold much resale value, which is why they are appealing in the used market. You get a lot of bike for not a lot of money. If I wanted a bike with a good resale value, I'd want something that is appreciating in value. One bike that comes to my mind, for example, would be a '78-'82 Honda CBX 1000.
Because Harleys are the most overhyped, overrated and overpriced junk. They are the least reliable motorcycle and the most expensive. A Suzuki C90 is the equivalent to a Road King BUT for a third of the price and you get the same riding experience with less maintenance. But if you’re living the life of luxury then you may please indeed splurge. Different strokes for different folks.
@@ssminowjohnson9687 actually Hd factory are reliable the only problem is that they are under powered the only a unreliability comes from people adding high performance kits. Then they are junk if you keep it stock like mine you won’t have problems. I’ve got 55k on mine just doing regular maintenance
Harley never made a bike anywhere near as reliable of a Suzuki. Kill the music man you got to kill the music I’m exiting out I’m not gonna finish watching this video.
"Want a Corvette but don't want to pay the price? Just buy a Camero instead." 🤦♂️ I'm not saying the Japanese cruisers aren't good, but my problem with most of them is they look and act like want-to-be Harleys. Yeah, they're cheaper, but that's for a good reason. They simply do not measure up.
I agree that the Japanese bikes are copies, as Japanese cruisers didn't really exist until the 80's, but I don't think the corvette vs camaro analogy works. Also I'd theorize that the Japanese manufactures tend to put the R&D into the internal running gear, with things like leather and paint quality taking a back seat. So while I agree that paint and leather quality don't measure up, I'd argue they do measure up when it comes to longevity of the internal components. That isn't to say the Japanese brands are flawless. If I recall, early Yamaha Viragos were known to have issues with their stators.
im confused is this a music video or a motorbike video because its doing really at both i cant hear what youre saying and i want to hear the bike NOT f ing music
While it's true that the Suzuki is a bit of a copy, it can provide a similar riding experience for a fraction of the cost. If you have to have the Harley, then by all means get the Harley. Harleys definitely have the cool factor. If I was looking for a used touring bike, I'd actually get a F6C Valkyrie over both the Harley and Suzuki.
@@autos_in_review I agree HD are nice, but they are over priced. The competition definitely tries to copy, but they have like in most cases improved on the original. HD is the least reliable brand at the most expensive price. Doesn't make sense to the smart shopper.

So the “Huffy” reflectors on the front forks are aesthetically pleasing, when for a few bucks you could go first class. js
Yes thats the point the price 👍
$40,000 for a Harley.......don't exaggerate none do you
I have a C90T, I got it cheap enough, and it has a lot of cheap in it.....its a good bike, it isn't a Harley
I didn't get it to be Harley, I got it to be a Suzuki, I have a Harley.
I like Harleys, but they are quite expensive.
www.autoblog.com/amp/2020/02/11/2020-harley-davidson-cvo-road-glide-motorcycle/
I believe it was this model. Granted the CVO versions fetch higher prices, as this one is marked $40,999 for the CVO version of the road glide, which normally starts around $21,699.
@@autos_in_review so you pick out a CVO and try to make it sound like all Harley's are $40000........you can't see what you're doing
Ah, I see what you're saying. Perhaps I should have worded it differently in the video, as the goal was not to make it seem all Harleys are priced at $40k. The goal was to point out that you can get a similar riding experience without having to spend too much money. I will be sure to clarify in later videos.
@@autos_in_review The only thing the same about riding a Harley or a Yamazuki is the bugs in your teeth
You've not been on a Harley, the riding experience is not the same.........its best to just not try makiing a comparison
I've got 2 new suzuki's C90T and M90, the are nothing like my wide glide......Getting these bikes I got rid of 3 Kawasaki's and a Sportster
anad before that I had a Yamaha, 2 different Kaw's and a different Sportster........The 900 Kaw's are not like an 883, they are similar in price, speed, handling is totally different, mpg 883 whoops the 900, 900 has a slightly higher top end, but while you're on the 883 you knw your on a Harley......it is that different
Like they say "sit your ass on some class".
And the longer you ride both the more you see why you pay a little more for a Harley.......paint quality, chrome quality, just everything about it
It is true Harley's sound slow
Picked up a mint 2018 C90 with just under 2000 miles on it, and outside of it looking like a really cool classic crusier....I absolutely hate it.
I've been riding all of my life and this bike has one of the worst rides I've ever experienced. It's sooooo underpowered that I have trouble keeping up with cars on the highway it's clunky, slow, it's temperamental. It's a cool looking bike but it's no fun to ride and if it's no fun....what's the point?
I’m getting a c50t soon, is it a good beginner bike in y’all’s opinion?
For a cruiser the c50t in my opinion is a good starting point. Before you buy it, sit on it to make sure that the ergonomics work well for you. If you can, take it on a test ride and see how it feels
@@autos_in_review thanks!
Would you say this was a good beginner bike?
Me personally, I'd say no. While the bike handles well for its size, it's still quite large with a curb weight of around 800lbs with fluids give or take. The bike in the video, which is an 05 model year, also has no ABS or TCS
@@autos_in_review Thank you very much.
Where the fuck is he getting these prices lol, HD ripping this dude off lol
THE ONLY THING IS THAT IT IS TO HARD TO GET PARTS AND THETY ARE VERY HARD TO FIND I HAVE A BOULEVARD SUZUKI 2008 AND PARTS ARE VERY EXPANSIVE .
Why compare it to a Harley if you can’t afford one. And which Harley are we talking about? Also resale value for that Suzuki in none existent.
Just buy a Camero instead."
🤦♂️
I'm not saying the Japanese cruisers aren't good, but my problem with most of them is they look and act like want-to-be Harleys.
Mike meel contakt whit mhee
im confused is this a music video or a motorbike video because its doing really at both i cant hear what youre saying and i want to hear the bike NOT f ing music
Way better bike than harley but every bike is anyway
One of the worst cruisers to ride on, one of the worst cruisers to work on. If you ever want a cruiser, don’t buy a suzuki boulevard.
Turn off the damn music geez
If you can’t afford the real thing why have a poor mans copy?
While it's true that the Suzuki is a bit of a copy, it can provide a similar riding experience for a fraction of the cost. If you have to have the Harley, then by all means get the Harley. Harleys definitely have the cool factor. If I was looking for a used touring bike, I'd actually get a F6C Valkyrie over both the Harley and Suzuki.
I ride an M90. I wanted a cruiser that doesn't looked like a Harley.
@@autos_in_review I agree HD are nice, but they are over priced. The competition definitely tries to copy, but they have like in most cases improved on the original. HD is the least reliable brand at the most expensive price. Doesn't make sense to the smart shopper.
